How Can Love Destroy?

In the fallen world, love has turned into the most dangerous element to behold laying destruction and broken ideals and hearts around.

How could something so precious created by the Almighty God cause so much calamity within human society?

This is because the Fall mismanaged love and shattered the world and turned it upside down.

We went in the opposite direction and built a society based on false love.

People have not clearly realized why love, which was originally from God, has become false and dirty.

They have still tried to protect and keep it because of their desire that true love should magically appear in their lives.

But, without the right direction in which way to walk the path of love, true love is just a dream.

In these days, wherever we see a commercial, television show or movie, we are taught the wrong ways of love.  The wrong ways of life.  The wrong ways of using our sexual organs.

We have adapted the lifestyle of using the sexual organs for just anyone one desires for the moment. How can true love dwell in such an environment?

Through the Fall, the sexual organs of men and women have moved in the opposite direction of the original palace.

This gate of death and the laws of death and destruction bringing hell.  The sexual organ has become a wicked agent that has ruined the heavenly way.  This has been a secret that has been hidden in history until now.

If we do not rightfully correct this thinking, the world will become distorted.

If history cannot be fit back together properly, then wickedness will fill the world and remain as we see it today.

I have experienced the agony of delving into the fundamental problem of humanity and the fundamental core of the universe, and the place I arrived at as a result of this endeavor was the sexual organ. When I arrived at the sexual organ as the origin, and thought about it carefully, I found that the harmony of heaven and earth unfolds like a whirlwind from that place. This is an amazing fact. 


When we know the power of blessings or destruction lies within the sexual organs, then we understand why Satan has placed such a focus on distorting the reality of such a holy place.

Why do you think it is more natural for the man to be on top when making love?

Because it is only in this way the true seed from heaven comes.  It comes from true love.

The seed comes from the father, through the convex organ of love.  When the convex fits into the concave, the whole of heaven and earth shakes.

If you delve into exploring your sexual organs because you think it will make you happy and you'll be intoxicated because it is so mysterious, then this is a grave matter.

The door of love opens only when it is time.

You must wait until this time before opening and entering the royal palace of love.  You should be able to open it proudly after becoming the owner of love.

How can this take place when your love is freely given to anyone without God's consent?

Why do men and women like love?

The human body consists of trillions of cells. The time when these cells move as a whole, is when they make love.

Who is qualified to become God's partner in love?  Is it a man who is by himself?  Will a woman alone be His partner?

What kind of partner would God want?

Would He want money as His partner, knowledge or fame?  No, because God wants a partner of love, he needs human beings by being at the place where a husband and wife unite through the sexual organs.

We have come to think that the whole of our bodies belongs to only us, but love is not yours.  Love is completely in the possession of your partner. In the Old Testament, we find words such as 'holy place' and 'most holy place'.

The holy place symbolizes a person and the most holy place symbolizes love.

Every person has a holy place and a most holy place.

In other words, the holy place is a house where you attend God.

As for the most holy place, since God has dominion of privileged love over it, it is a place to make a relationship with God.

You should know that the one who had the key to the most holy place was Adam and the one who had the key to Adam's most holy place was Eve.

You should know that the mouth of the man and woman is a holy place as well.

The mouth is the formation stage in the love relationship.

For women, their breasts are the growth stage and their organs are at the completion stage.  These are the holy places of our body.

The key to these holy places cannot be held by just anyone.  No one can have it without inheriting it through the heavenly way.

Religions should walk a path of tribulation. They should fight against the body's evil desires which can lead them to make a mistake with the sexual organ.

The most serious enemy to the road of restoration is sex that is connected to the pulsating of the devil's blood.

We should be liberated from this lewdness and corruption of the sexual organs.

In order to cleanse the satanic blood that is woven from the lineage you have to engraft to a new type of life.  You must want to build a relationship with God.  Only then will true love begin.

God is the traditional center of love and also the ancestor of true life.

The most fearful thing in the universe is the problem between man and woman concerning the misuse of that love.

Your body heats up when you are in love, doesn't it?

It shakes and there is a mixing.  East west, south and north are mixed.  Also above, below are mixed and become one.  Everything focuses in the direction where love sparks fire.

You move into love freely with no restraint in order to completely invest yourself again and again by investing yourself completely for the sake of the man and completely investing yourself for the sake of the woman.

You then forget about your life and your material possession when you live you life in this way.  Because that is the path of love, and because it is the path that never ends, you will like it forever.

If God was to give you and I a gift, do you think that He would give a bad one?

He gives the best.  Where would that be?

It is something that exists in a deep place.  God would want to take it out from from the deepest, inner place and give it to the one He loves.  This is why love is good.

True freedom embodies responsibility.  If people were to just insist on practicing only the freedom of individual, selfish love without any responsibilities attached, how much chaos and destruction would come from such an environment.

Human being's perfection, who are to manifest the ideal of love, is possible only when they take responsibility to act with true love.

People should be grateful to God who gave them the freedom of love. 

The first responsibility is for one to become the master of true love and become truly free.

We should thank God for the freedom of love and obtaining the knowledge how to cultivate it and control ourselves through religious disciplines and from the Divine Principle, the Completed Testament.

Responsibility of a love relationship should not be carried out merely because one is following a law or social convention.

Instead, we should want to be responsible through one's own self-control and determination and have a committed vertical(spirit) relationship with God.

When someone uses their sexual organs like a blind person who wanders around aimlessly and without direction, it will lead its owner to Hell.

By the same token, one who is able to use the sexual organ according to the standard of God's absolute love, they will be led high up into Heaven.

This is the clear conclusion.

In the Garden of Eden, while in their youth, Adam and Eve had planted the seed of free sex through sharing their sexual organs without God's permission or approval.

In these Last Days, therefore, we are living in the time of harvest.  The phenomenon of an expanding trend where youth explore every avenue with free sex appears.









Love is not something that is learned.

Where did you initially learn about love?  Did you learn at home?

Does your father or mother tell you when you were a child to learn how to love from them?  Also, do the parents learn how to love through their children?

What about the bride and bridegroom, did they learn to love from someone in a certain way?

Do parents receive instructions from someone on how to love their children?  Women here, when you loved your babies after they were born, did you learn the way to love them?

Is there a school that teaches love?  Can you get a bachelor's or doctoral degree in this field?

There may be no such thing, but everyone should reach a perfect score in this.

The more lacking you feel yourself to be, the more complete your love is. 

You do not have to learn something that is complete or anything more does not have to be done to it.

The less that is needed to be added or subtracted from something the more complete it is.

Hence, complete things do not change, but last forever.

Love is hard to study and to understand in the context of words.  No matter how much explanations and study guides are given about the parent's love, people without parents still would not be able to understand the content.

The same for conjugal love, people who live alone would not be able to grasp any explanations which are given.  

Once you are in a relationship with your partner and feel the love, you can have an convergence in your actions that you can perceive.

This can be such as loving what your partner loves or connecting to his or her whole being.

It is through this power of love that a newborn baby finds their mother's milk without having to go to school or train to do so.

Sincere love is heavenly law, thus it is realized naturally before it is taught.

The Parents' love does not become bigger or smaller in accord to how cute their child's face is or how ugly when he or she cries.  Is there is a child who changes his love and respect for his parents because they are good looking or bad looking?

Are there children who say, "What an ugly face you have, you must not be my mother."  There would be no such child.

Also there would be no parents who would deny they gave birth to their child because they have an ugly face.

If there are such parents or children, we would not be able to call them human beings.  Even mothers in the animal kingdom do not exhibit such behavior.

True love is to be attained through experience and understood through feeling.

It is not something that can be mastered through words, writings or education.

It is only attained through daily living.

In their process of growing up into adulthood, Adam and Eve were supposed to reach perfection.  They would have achieved this through experiencing and feeling the heart of their true children, the heart of true brothers, heart of true husband and wife and the heart of true parents.

Through their daily living step-by-step, they would finally become the ideal people who have matured into perfection spiritually and physically.

There would have been no way for Satan to tempt them thereafter.  They would have fulfilled God's purpose of creation when they could deeply learn through experience, God's true love as a whole.

Importance of the Love of Nature

Just imagine for a moment that you were God before the creation of anything. You are alone with no interactions with other beings and there is nothing to enjoy or look upon. Would you like to spend eternity in this state? So, from God's point of view, why do you think an all-knowing being needed to create things? It was so He could have an object partner and a realm of object partners to love.  They would eat and live in love and return to God's original world and eternal kingdom of love for eternity with Him. In other words, God needed a partner in order to feel the stimulation of love. Today, many religious people believe that because God is all-knowing and powerful that the world was created when simple words were spoken. They do not realize that the world was created in stages or different time periods that correlate to the six days of creation that are referred to in the Bible account in Genesis. God invested all of His being, all the energy He had to create the universe and all of creation. He did so as a gift for His beloved sons and daughters, His beloved family of the future by investing all the power of love He had. Thus, we should look at things of creation with this kind of understanding. God's will in creating the world  God experienced great joy when He was creating all things. After creation was complete, He said that it was good. This means there was joy.  Joy is what you feel when you have finally achieved a certain purpose.  Since all things contain God's consciousness of purpose, He was able to feel joy with them. The world of restoration will be a world that is populated with people who have a connection of heart where they can sing and praise God even when looking at an individual masterpiece of the creation. This is where God sees the value of personality. The story of Saint Francis preaching to animals animals is a dream-like story.  But it is a true story. Everything in creation is made by God as a textbook so that His beloved sons and daughters could learn and nurture the ideal of love. Through observation of penguins int he Arctic, we see how important community and family is to the survival and well-being of the family. By observing nature, we will not only learn about God, but also how to create the world of peace. Minerals function through a relationship of subject partner and object partner. Protons and electrons within atom relate on a subject-object relationship. Without interacting, these elements would cease to exist.  If they are not in motion, they cannot continuously exist. The universe was created to relate to the central point which is human beings. The universe is a mysterious world. God did not create the universe as something to fool around or play with.  He created using the most devoted efforts for the sake of his beloved people. So, when we look at this universe, we should have an extremely grateful heart toward the Father who created it for us. When you walk around a blooming garden in the summer, beholding the trees, plants, flowers, and birds and watch the streams flow, feel the wind blow with this heart of appreciation, you cannot help but be overwhelmed with wonder. Perfection of the universe involves the external and our innermost self to rejoice.  In rejoicing, both our mind and body must be joyful, and all the cells must be delighted. The cells of my eyes and those at the bottom of the feet are different, but this has to be a world where these cells, too, can rejoice. The cells in our hands and all the cells in our entire body including the mind can rejoice as well. While doing so, they should not stay separated but become connected in the resonant joy of love which is based on dual purpose.  Only then will the universe reach perfection. Connections start from extremely small things.  You are a living body which consists of as many as 400 trillion cells which are connected together. In the ideal world centered on God, among all of existence, there is none that came into being from outside God's heart. You are consisted of as many as 400 trillion cells connected together in your living body.  A poet who can feel these kinds of emotions for God's creation would be a great poet once he began to write a sonnet. If there were a poet who could feel and express a cosmic heart when seeing a leaf shake, he would thus become a poet of the universe. We may not know of all the phenomena that is unfolding in heaven and on earth, but without us knowing, there are things that exist together with God's love. When you enter a meditative state, you can see that even a small grain of sand contains all of the principles of the universe.  Even one small atom contains the bottomless and inexhaustible harmony of the universe. Even science cannot deny that all of existence is the result of a complex force, although we are unable to clearly understand it. Atoms exist below molecules and elementary particles exist below atoms. These forms do not exist below molecules and elementary particles exist below atoms. These forms do not unconsciously exist, but have a certain consciousness and purpose. Therefore, we should clearly and fully understand the fact that all things in existence appeared through the loving hands of God and exist in a necessary relationship of heart with God. What kind of people are the enlightened masters? They are those with a heart so deep that they recognize even the value of one stem of grass as equal to their own and can cry out "God!"  They would be of the highest level of enlightened masters. Those who can sing its value this way would be the artists of the highest caliber. If there are people with this heart that could allow them to discover the charm of God's love and heart in every variety of creation, in all their forms and colors, then befriend them and find enjoyment together, they would be the people who could represent the entire universe. If there were people whose cells could move one by one with this type of feeling, they would be the lords of creation. Conversely, if there is a person who knows about nothing but eating, can he become the lord of creation? Nature is a textbook teaching the ideal of love. People observe and learn from nature as they grow up. From playing with and interacting with nature, they will come to understand what the insect world is like.  When you listen carefully on an autumn night while the full moon and the stars shine, then the sounds of the insects are like an orchestra. Why do they like to make such a sound at night? They do so because they are looking for their ideal partners. They are whispering love throughout the night. Birds and all other animals also follow this same common denominator of love when they make happy and sad sounds. They are low on the scale and far away form the axis, and yet they are circling around in parallel.  This is the same for all existent beings. There are three types of bird songs. First, there is a song which expresses his hunger. Second, a song which expresses his love for a mate. Third there is a song which is sun in time of danger.  These are all different.  We ordinary people do not know this small detail about nature, but only know about their own world. Around what does a birds life revolve? Hunger is taken care of simply by eating, and they do not face danger everyday either.  Most of their singing goes back and forth in the give and take relationship with their partner. If you were to sit out on the porch one Sunday afternoon, you could catch the call of two birds separated on different trees exchanging bird calls. It is a beautiful sound. Human beings were also created as a pair - subject partner and object partner. The world of all things also exists for the sake of humankind, creates harmony under the law of love and then manifests its life and ideal through the love of humankind. This would have been the maturing Adam and Eve.  The created world of all things was to be a textbook of love, a museum that infinitely displayed the essence of love. All of nature exists in pairs and harmonizes with each other through love. Flowers and butterflies relate as two opposite poles, yet they find a way to harmonize with each other. This is the harmonious relationship of heaven and earth.  The opposite poles of the universe create harmony through love. It is the same with migratory birds. Birds that live in the south migrate north, and birds from the north migrate to the south, loving each other back and forth as they cross the regions. Through this, they are able to revolve around love. People learn about love through this textbook in the museum God created. When people and God love each other in joy, then all things in heaven and earth will follow their rhythm and harmonize around them. If God likes this, and loves this, the angelic world will also like it. The entire created world will like this, too. It would applaud and offer praise for such unity between mankind and God. Songbirds would sing praises and flower that blossom in the fields would offer praises through their scents. This created world exists in order to expand the fragrant atmosphere in which the central personages of the highest love can enjoy themselves.  Even large ugly toads make croaking sounds when they make love. They kick their legs and move them up and down while they delight in love.  This is the highest art which God created. When it is time for spring to come, whenever you hear the birds sing, as soon as you hear the song, you should think of your wife, your children, your country, the world and even God. When you think in this way, then everything is complete. Birds can only think of their own existence, but people have a sense of being in relationships with other people. This relationship in the human world is the mediator between the animal world, plant world and the spirit world as an exclusive privilege to human beings. Only human beings have this special authority. As Adam and Eve matured, they would have come to understand their purpose through observing the animal world.  They would have understood how to make love. God laid out the world of all things as a textbook for humans to understand how to bring the ideal of human love to maturity. As Adam and Eve continued to grow toward maturity they had different feelings toward each other. They knew that they were brothers and sisters in the past but now they have different feelings for one another. Love is like a nerve. It is the same as pulling on a strand of hair that pulls the entire body with it.  If we pull on the love strand, the universe itself is pulled along with it. As motion is created in love, the entire universe will come into harmony, too. When love is present, we dance. Is this how dancing came about? It was because of love.  So, when there is love, we dance.  It was through the experience of love. Songs came into being because of love and so did laughter. If love was to be taken away, everything would become hard and stiff. People like butterflies more than bees, because butterflies dance as they fly.  Everything which flies has a rhythm and a beat with a melody. Fast-flying creatures fly in time with a beat.  So do slow-flying ones. There are various styles of flight, but everything flies according to a certain rhythm. The way deer run and rabbits lay in the mountains is musical.  The way they hop around has a certain rhythm, too. The way they eat has a musical quality. This is the same for people.  We eat with a certain rhythm as well.  These all express something musically. If we think in this way, we should feel thankful to God that someone made this universe for me to last for eternity and put it in place for me.  We should feel grateful to Him. We should not think as an onlooker as if it has nothing to do with us, but understand the depth of creation. God's Rules for Successful Relationships

When we look at love relationships today, on the whole, there seems to be a lot of confusion, a lot of advice and nonsense that just further the confusion when it comes to the love of a man and a woman.

Wouldn't God make a certain standard for relationships?

Most certainly, God has an absolute standard and order, and model of love He has in mind.

It depends on whether the love a man and a woman share is in accord with God's will that determines success or destruction.

That is a relief to know that God has already placed within the creation a set standard for how a man and a woman should love one another.

Once these certain standards are set in place, not only do they receive God's protection in their love, but they are guaranteed a successful and loving relationship full of happiness.

Many relationship gurus fight amongst themselves over who has the better solution to acquire love and how to keep it, but the highest best advice comes from the master of love Himself, God.

Let's go back to the beginning of the very first love relationship, Adam and Eve.

We by now know the story that if they had become one in love that was based on the love of God, then this world would have turned out completely opposite from what we witness now.

They would have matured and become perfect individually and then they would have become the universal model of love.  This is what God desired from human beings.

Likewise, man and woman must also have wanted to have united based on this true love of God, wouldn't they?

The true love of that couple would be the core of the universe.  That love would have become the standard of measurement for the rest of humanity and for eternity.  God's love and human love is the same in essence.

Love causes oneness. 

Why does a man and a woman long for each other?

They feel such a natural desire because it is the only way man can possess God is through a woman and a woman can possess God only through a man.

In other words, they have a longing for one another because God comes and dwells where a man and a woman have become one in love.

God is the source of man and woman.

Therefore, we should sing praises for the noble value of God and the dignity and value of men and women.  When God's beloved woman lives in a man's heart and God's beloved man lives in a woman's heart as well, these two will become object partners to God.

When they love each other, God will be delighted to see such love and all things will rejoice.

Heaven and earth will rejoice to see such a man and a woman embrace who have such values.  When man and woman embrace each other in mutual fondness, that fondness becomes the point where the universe unifies.

This was how God's original ideal for the world of peace was to unfold.  Originally, a man should meet a woman where he can rejoice, and a woman should meet a man with whom she can rejoice.

More than this, their encounter should be a place where both God and all things in creation can rejoice.

Then, all of creation will be mobilized for this couple.  They want to be ruled by them.  Birds will sing and butterflies will flutter and dance joy at this sight.  God will rejoice, people will rejoice, everything will rejoice.

This would have been the original scene if the first ancestors started history based on such a position. The world would have had a different origin and it would have been centered on God.

The Reason Men and Women Are Born

What is the original purpose of man to be born on earth?  It is undeniable that man was born for the sake of a woman.

Of course many Westerners would shake their head at such a notion, but this fact is undeniable.

Likewise, woman was not born for her own sake.  Even her breasts and sexual organs are not for her, but her children and husband.  We should know that problems arise if a woman fails to understand her own purpose for being born for the sake of man.

Since the 70s of modern feminism and equal rights, women have fallen far away from the traditional view of marriage and life.

No matter how much it is fought, God ultimately established the world based on these principles.

Therefore, we cannot enter the world of goodness, truth, happiness and peace or the world of love and the ideal unless we follow this principle.

A woman is born to meet a man, and a man is born to meet a woman.  Isn't this so?  This is the highest truth whether it is recognized or not.

When we deviate from this highest truth, that constitutes the highest evil.

God created men and women physically opposite and complementary to one another.

Women are one-directional, men are three or four-directional.  Women are more likely to enjoy staying at home while men are more likely to enjoy traveling the world.

There are many books, movies and discussions over the differences between men and women and that it is almost impossible to come together in unity.

How is it possible for men and women to become one?  Surely, a perfect God would not create such beings that would not be able to unite.

Men and women unite through love.  Love has the ability to unite human beings and God.

Man was not born for the sake for academic accomplishments, money or political power.  He is born for the sake of a woman.

Man was born with a larger physique, not so that he can live only for himself, but so he can earn a living for their children and wives.

No one can argue the fact that men and women's sexual organs are different from one another.

Of course these organs do not exist for their own sake.  Man's sexual organ came into existence for the woman, likewise, woman's sexual organ is for the sake of man.

Have you ever stopped to think about this?  This is not a funny matter.

Where is the final destination of love?

Since the coming together of the male and female sexual organ makes them one, this is the final destination.

That which man has is not his, and that which woman has is not hers.  In other words, man has what belongs to woman, and woman has what belongs to man.  The sexual organ becomes a channel through which the mind and body come merged through love.

We should clearly know that we are each born for the sake of our one partner.

This is important, because if we know our final destination, there is no confusion and we know clearly the path we should take in life.

So, why are men and women born on earth?

Men and women are born to love each other.  Since God is the great king of wisdom, He switched ownership of their love organs.

A man is not the owner of his sexual organ.  The same is true for women.

Those who behaved carelessly in regard to the ownership of their love organs will be ultimately judged.

If men were to suffer punishment under the most harshest and fearful of laws, would they even think of other women instead of their wives.  Conversely, can wives think of other men instead of their own husbands?

Men and Women Absolutely Need Each Other

How much do men and women need each other?

Just think, no matter how much men boasts about their accomplishments, it does not matter because it would all disappear in 100 years if there were no women.

Therefore women are absolutely necessary.

When we look at a single man, we think he needs to be with a woman and when we look at a woman, she has to be with a man.

Man can not be born based on his own desire, nor woman be born through her own desire.  Both need each other.

The reason one is born a woman is that there is a man who needs her. Likewise, the reason I am born as a man like this is that there is a woman who needs me.  Isn't that right?  We are all born in this way, with God's knowledge.

Man absolutely needs God, but before this, he needs a partner called woman.

This is where human history has failed miserably.  Men have failed to correctly understand the absolute need for women.  Also, women have not understood they absolutely need for men.

A true man and a true woman who pursue true love are joined through their efforts of becoming one in heart.

When such a man and woman are joined as one, God comes and dwells with them.

God does not like to see a couple that is joined by true love to separate.  Therefore the love of an absolute man and woman is eternal.

God is omnipotent and omniscient, but even God's existence will have no meaning if He is alone.

On the same token, no matter how handsome or fit a man may be, these things have no meaning if he is without a woman.

Men who are in love with their own existence and good looks lead such an ugly existence.

He has no value before God. This is the problem that many men in the world have fallen into such narcissism. This is the reason why history has moved toward tragedy.

God's providence works to change and improve this world that has been immersed in such self-centeredness.

We Must Get Rid of Barriers

When we speak of heaven, we speak of God; when we say earth, we speak of human beings. If God is all alone, He cannot be fulfilled, so He needs to come together with human beings. The purpose of creation can be fulfilled only when love is fulfilled, and love cannot be fulfilled by one alone; there must be two, in the relationship of subject and object.

When love is fulfilled, both the upper and lower areas are fulfilled equally.

This was God's ideal for the world, but because of the fall true love could not be completed.  Therefore there are several different barriers and walls which separate heaven and earth. When the highest point comes down and the lowest point comes up, they can meet in the middle.

In Oriental philosophy, the word 'heaven' connotes huge noble aspects, while 'earth' connotes small, lowly things.  The distinction between the two only came about through man's selfish love.

If the fall did not occur, there would not have been a difference between heaven and earth.  Heaven would thus be on earth; world peace would have been established from the beginning if the seed of misused love had not been planted.

Even though man fell, God cannot go down to the point of the fall.  Therefore, man must bring himself by uniting mind and body.  The most important thing is for man to know God and to conquer the ignorance of the fall and his horrible situation.

God has worked thousands of years to bring people out of darkness so we can know God's true nature.  Yet, wherever God goes, Satan plants his seeds of hate, doubt and lust to trip up God's people.  Therefore, God uses alternative means to reach His children.

God had made two major efforts throughout history to do this.  He used science, which is the external level, and religion is on the internal level.  When we know the purposes of both, then we know where would science and religion be headed.

The two  will meet at the point where love is fulfilled.  This would not be the level of human love standard, but the pure, high standard of God's love.  Any effort to find and discover God will ultimately reach the one point of the true love of God.

Every entity has two aspects: internal and an external.

The two must meet at one point. This means that the mind and body should share the knowledge each possess and unite.  To become one, the two should know each other.

In order for science and religion to unite, they both must understand each other.  Everyone possesses a mind and body which is in a horizontal alignment, side by side.  God also has a mind and body which are in the same position.

Here on earth man should have unity between his mind and body.

We can meet God, not only through religion, but also through science.

This fact may be hard to take in, for both sides, that unity is imminent between science and religion.

Have you noticed that you are at your happiest when your plans or ideals are finally fulfilled?  This realization is not enough, it is the coming into oneness with a subject or object in reciprocal give and take that creates happiness.

Then what makes God happy and what is the work of God?

God's work after the fall has been in perfection of human beings.  This has been God's goal and true masterpiece.  When that goal is met, that will be the point of ultimate joy and goodness.  This would not be the point of secular, lustful love, but the original pure love of God.

I want you to understand that unless your mind and body are united, you are not eligible to meet God. 

We have two eyes that do not work independently, but they both have one focus that produces one image, not two.  The same with ears, the nervous system coordinates those impulses into one sound.  This focus is between the two, not in front of one or the other.

When two different focal points meet, they will discover that they are actually alike.  When they discover their likeness, they will be able to stimulate each other in give and take and fellowship.

When your mind and body no longer war for domination and are totally united with the godly mind at the center, then that focus is upon God.

God's united mind and body is united into one and people would be the focus of these two.

The common goal that excites them both would be true love.

Therefore, unless God finds love, He cannot find completion; and unless man finds his ultimate goal, which is the true love of God, he cannot achieve completion either.  When God focuses upon man and man focuses upon God, and the two are united, the entire universe is united.


In human love, the nervous system focuses to transfer sensation to the whole system. If the mind is willing to live this way, but the body is lethargic and doesn't obey, then the mind/body alignment is askew. Then the person is crippled, just as if he were missing an arm.

It is most important that we focus our life. 

The focus of the entire spirit world is God, and the focus of the physical world is man.

We see many horrors in these days, but you must understand that God would not arrange His creation in a sloppy manner.  God being perfect and of love, God must have organized the creation to focus upon one point on both earth and in spirit world.


There are two aspects to everything in the physical world: positive and negative. Within those positive and negative aspects, there are also internal and external elements, or mind and body. Once positive and negative electrical charges meet, you can't tell which is which. Likewise, you can't tell where positive starts and negative ends in a magnetic field. But there is action in the magnetic field and energy is created.


Men and women are different, but they are not enemies.

Instead, each focuses on the other to win his or her love.  Every senses focuses on love.  Even in the nonreligious world today, people see the fact that men and women meet and love each other, but this is only the beginning point.

Just like energy from the power plant works wonders, men and women work wonders together to tap God's power plant.  When you understand this, then living becomes a joy.

Even electricity follows this Principle.

Would electricity refuse to the light up the house of a smelly country bathroom?  Electricity works universally, once it is hooked up.  Do your nerves refuse to provide sensation to your smelly, dirty feet?  Does your blood refuse to circulate through arteries and veins there?

The oceans of the world are really one body of water even though sections of it are given different names depending on location.  In the same way, once love is activated, it is able to go anywhere in the universe.

Young people would like to travel the entire world with their husband and wife, and then along with their children thereafter.  Wouldn't a true king also like to see all of the beauties of the world accompanied by all of his subjects?

Don't you envy the birds who have the freedom to fly off to any parts of the world without a passport?  Humanity has such senseless barriers such as immigration restrictions and hangups about nationalities which are man-made barriers.

Once we are able to get rid of all of these barriers, we will be able to live in a world as free as the birds.  

Do ducks from the north discriminate against ducks from the south?

Would they refuse to marry and mate with one another just because they are from different parts of the world?

Nature in this respect has a higher standard than humanity by following this basic principle of the universe.  To ducks, it does not matter whom they marry just as long as they are ducks!

You are constantly told that you should serve others and focus your love and attention on other people because by living in this way you create unity.

A good athlete focuses all of his energy and distributes it perfectly in the pursuit of his sport. If 1, 000 people were able to do this, they would generate great energy and power.  This pushing and pulling force must harmonize to create tremendous power.

The greater the power of give and take, the greater the wonder it can create. 

God can stretch His arms from one pole to the other pole while embracing the entire universe in give and take.  If God is great, then it is logical that His creation which is man is also great.

Your ears "focus" within your brain, but actually you want to hear sounds that are universal, not selfish.

We take exhaling and inhaling for granted, but have you ever thought that the air we breathe travels all around the world linking you to it?

In daily life we are dealing with one universe, one air, one water, one sunlight and one land.

Do you focus all of your attention just on your husband or wife without taking interest in your society, nation and world?

When man and woman attain unity, they would then focus on the larger entities such as society, nation and world.

The greater the vision and the greater the distance this couple focuses on together, the greater your life becomes.

Has anyone else ever thought like this?  We know that as individuals we represent the entire universe, and furthermore you think that God looks like you, not that you look like Him?  Is this pompous thinking?

Through the teachings of the Divine Principle, which this blog is based upon, a small person would think that he was big enough to embrace all of America and the world.  This would not be possible through any physical means, of course.  But through love he would be able to do it.

There is no nationality in the world of love because love travels all over, like air. 

Can love reach all the way to God? Love will penetrate God's system and reach His heart.

If someone was to lock God's love in a vault, your love would be able to penetrate even that wall.  This means that your love is the greatest secret key of all.  Everyone no matter what their status is focused upon love, even God hangs onto it.

All things cling to love as well.

Everyone, young or old, Eastern or Western wants to be in possession of beautiful things.  If we were to think what the most precious thing in the universe would be, it would have to be love.

Even all of the spirits in spirit world would have to agree.

What is True Love?

"The more love we have the happier we become. Love is such that once it is in our hand; we never want to let it go. 

The source of life cannot be governed by human will. Only true love can influence our motivation, our course, or the end of our life. Human beings were born of love, so they must live for love and even die for love at the end of their lives."

In some places, today couples will be celebrating Valentine's Day in respect to love for that special someone in their lives.  

Do we really know what the definition of true love is?

Does the quote sound like the kind of love that we experience in our daily life at work, home or in our communities?  This is the purest form and most ideal standard of love we all wish to reach.  God planned the creation not only to function for the purpose of love, but so He can receive love through the creation.


Owe no one anything except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Romans 13:8

If love had a color, what color would it be?  Black at night, white in the daytime and yellow in the evening?

The world will be able to experience peace, unity and equality when the central color of love can be found.  Yet in the situation today, we use love in anyway.  Love is the most holy place and when it is misused, we are judged by fire.

Love has the power to give life when used for the purpose God intended and it also has the power of destruction when it is used for selfish purposes.

Love is the cardinal point of happiness, the invisible order, and the peace that serves the common good. It is the common asset of all humanity and the symbol of God's will and power.

Even the strongest toughest man's face will radiant when he finds a woman to love.

How is this possible?  Through the power of a gun, simple threats?  No.  Through the power of love. There are two types of love...which kind of love has this lasting power?

Only True love that is the center and owner of the universe.


True Love is the Original Fountain of the Universe

True love holds supreme power.  Once you possess true love, the world, everyone and even God will follow you.  Once you stand in love's purest position, all of creation will follow you.

"True love is the kind of love that makes you and another feel good even if you stay together forever. It is the kind of love that makes you feel good, even though you just stay together, live together, watch together, talk together, feel things together and listen together."

Love has such a high quality that it is welcomed and liked by all people.  No matter how old, rich or powerful one is, we desire to live and die surrounded by love.  To test if this is true, you probably know someone who holds a high position or is very successful in their trade, but struggle in their love relationships and yearn to find their true love.

Yet, one who has found the person whom God gives to them, they are extremely happy no matter what situation they find themselves.

Love is perceptive that if we think of it as small, it becomes small, and if we think of love as infinitely large it is very large;if you think you can see it, you can see it and vice versa.  Such a principle is that when a loved one winks at you it will make you feel as if heaven and earth are being turned upside down and heaven and earth lived within your heart.

Love alone can break down the barriers people put up. People in love are completely possessed by it and each word they venture to speak will be based on the love that claims them.

An atomic bomb brings only death, but the power of love is greater and more powerful.  Atomic bombs do not have the power to create;they only bring judgement and destruction. True love has the power to save people from death and give new life.

True Love is the only power that can unite the world into one - not brute force.  True love is the only weapon that can break down differences in cultural backgrounds, national borders and a nation's customs.

Love's Saving Power

All of the world's problems on the level of political, economic and culture which humankind face today can basically be solved through the PERFECTION of true love.

Even on the individual level, all conflicts and disputes can eventually become a worldwide problem through multiplication of society and national levels.  These problems can be resolved through God's love.

We must have our heart open for true love, but where can we encounter it?

True love lives for the public purpose.

True love has an eternal quality which does not change whether it is day or night.  True Love does not belong to one person - it belongs to everyone and the creation.  Love is shared by the universe and has the power to connect the family, society, nation and the world.

What can make God truly happy?  When we perfect love, He will rejoice and be completely happy to be immersed in a world where people live in a world of true love.  God would be happy to see His suffering children now enjoying the love He bequeathed at the beginning.  His children would live in true happiness without any regrets throughout their lives.

In this type of world, there would be no war, discontentment or suffering.  This can be described as Heaven on Earth or a Utopia.

"Even all things of creation will shower blessings upon those who devote their lives for the purpose of love. Flowers will want to bloom in their gardens, and even birds will want to build their nests in the backyard and sing their songs. This is because those people know the value of all things of creation and truly love them."

The author of the Divine Principle explains the quality of True Love:


"Even God yearns for love. Because love is so expansive, even God is engulfed in love.  It is only logical. What God is wishing for more than anything else is love. That is why love is greater than He is.   Love occupies the center of ideal circumstances, and is in unity with God. Therefore, as long as God exists, there is love.

You can find money, knowledge and power in the midst of love. The power of love is eternal. Those who know real love do not have to learn anything in the spirit world (we breathe love as air in spirit world).

What is true love?

At the intersection of vertical and horizontal, true love forms a ninety-degree angle and must fit in anywhere it goes. It should fit in Eastern homes and in Western homes alike. True love can fit in anywhere and everywhere, regardless of whether there are differences in racial, cultural and religious backgrounds.

In Science, we learn that the universe consistently contracts and expands.

In other words, it breathes in and out. It is not political power that controls the contraction and the expansion of the universe. Neither is it knowledge or money. It is the giving of love.

When you look at the world with eyes filled with love, you would say of a bird flying past you, "Why is that bird chirping? Oh, he must be missing his beloved."

When we think of this standard of love, we may think automatically of love songs or poems.  The history of our everyday lives is meant to harmonize with nature and be reproduced in the symphony of love. That is why a breath of love, a caress of love, a song of love and a whisper of love are all pleasing to our heart.

The most evil of forces dissolves in the presence of true love. Though one just looks at or passes by true love that is enough.  Love is certainly the element that forms the essential part of a person. It is at work before that person is given life, and it is the source of life itself.

A life lived for love is a productive and fruitful one, and a life lived without knowing love leads to exhaustion and destruction.

God, humankind, and even the universe desire to live for the sake of love.

This is the original way of life.

Love in its original form is perfect, unchanging, eternal and absolute.  The love attained in a natural setting and in the most natural atmosphere is real love.

Once someone opens his or her eyes to love, the body and mind of that person will want to form multi-dimensional relationships within the universe. That person will thus come to understand the order of nature from the leaves falling in the autumn wind.

He will smile to himself, wishing even to become a flower blossom in order to appreciate the beauty of a flower blooming in a spring garden.

The fastest action in the world is the action of love. If two people located at opposite ends of the earth were to fall in love with each other, their love would pull them together, overcoming the distance between them. 

Love has such power.

A person who has received grace and is receiving love from God looks beautiful.

When we reach the state in which we can feel the love of God, we can relate with and transcend everything. We can have everything when we are centered on the emotions of original love. Even the organs of our bodies were created for just one purpose, love.

God formed the eyes to seek for love, the nose to smell love, and the ears to listen to the sounds of love. Of all the words we hear, the words that we never tire of, that we always like to hear, are the words, "I love you."

Love is the only topic that all beings enjoy. That kind of love is the true love that the entire universe welcomes.

The attributes of love do not lead us to love only things that are good. It is only logical to define true love as that which loves the very lowest thing more than something high.

Love is such that even God is bound by its authority. This means that even God is weak before love. The all-powerful God cannot prevent a smile from spreading across His face when He sniffs the scent of the love of humankind. Even God likes to hear love stories.

What is the most holy thing in the world?

 It is true love. True love starts from God. What God truly wants is the path of true love. You must understand that if you do not follow the path of true love you cannot become close to God. Through love, God desires to see, hear, eat, and touch."


True Love and World Peace

How and when will happiness begin in the world?

When people live every aspect of their lives based on love.  The ideals people want to bring forth into fruition and their own perfection cannot be achieved without true love.  God based all creation to exist centered on true love and the original love of God

When we give away material possessions or money, they are gone for good, but when it comes to love, the more we give, the more we will receive in return.  This is why we all want to live in the overflow in love.

The more love you give out, you will never be overfilled, you will continually be filled in love.  This is how you become joyful and happy.  We might to be in a high position, but this runs out.  In the case of love, all humans possess an unlimited supply.


What is True Love?

Once you get a glimpse of true love, you find that you cannot live without it.  This is the truth for all men, women, children young and old.  We all delight in love and it can never be relinquished by grandmothers and grandfathers even in death.

After tasting love, would a grandfather ever say, "Oh, I am tired of the taste of the love I knew in the past! It is different from the aroma in our civilization today. I don't like it! I would rather smell something other than the scent of love!"?

The taste of good food stimulates every cell in the body and invigorates it to say, "This taste pretty good!"  This is how love becomes the nucleus the core of all things.

"Love is the essence of everything. When you treat anything and anyone with that kind of love, a path will open up along which you can freely go anywhere."

True Love is unchanging love and lasts forever:  true love in the spring, summer, autumn and winter; true love when you are in your teens, adulthood and old age; and true love even when you go to the eternal spirit world.

Who owns love?  Is it man or woman?

It is God Himself.  God and human beings only become one through centering on love.  Why?  Because love is essential to both God and human beings.  Yes, God even relies on an object partner to experience love.  God made love greater than Himself.  Whenever there is harmony, a circular motion takes place.

God can come down to human beings through love and human beings go up and meet God at the midway position.  Many imagine God sitting on His throne refusing to come to His children...this would not describe a god of love.

God then becomes the center of the sphere and spherical motion occurs. The central point is where harmony in love is established and the place where life first stirs.  This point is where equality and sharing together begins because the power of love is there.  Love is a power that embraces everything in the universe.

Love can never be felt by one entity alone.  Happiness and even the concept of peace does not work for only just one nation alone.  Only when you can love based on a relationship made with someone on an equal footing can you feel true happiness.

Peace describes a relationship formed between one country and another.  The same truth applies to freedom.  One does not create true freedom by oneself.

The freedom that you acquire within love, together with love, is true freedom. 

When true love is present and someone proclaims their absolute authority over those exhibiting true love, even if they are whipped, they will not hold back.  Instead to this type of person, persecution will bring them a richer joy and happiness.  How is that possible?  Because true love only works when it is given out for another's benefit, through someone sacrificing himself to save others.

Love sets the standard, it is like a pillar that stands at the center.  At this central point, the mind and body automatically unite into one.  The central point never moves.  This is how true love becomes the eternal place of settlement.  The individual, family, tribe, nation, world, universe and even God are all situated at the central point where love resides.

"Jesus once said, "I am the way and the truth and the life: no one comes to the Father, but by me." However, he left one thing out, the most important thing of all; love. He should have said "I am the way and the truth and the life and the love..." but he left out "love."

These words should be inserted into the Bible.

When Christians hear me saying such things, they will exclaim, 'How blasphemous!' But if you ask God about this, He will reply, 'Of course!' From this we can see that God really likes love, but He likes true love the best of all."

How to Love With God's Heart

 “Above all else, guard your heart,” says the proverb, “for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4.23).

"In any case, the heart, like a garden, needs protection and cultivation if it is to flourish and break through the forces that warp and distort its impulses."

What does it mean to "keep the heart"?  It means to keep your heart pure and polished.  How?  through cutting through the ego, pride, misperceptions and distortions that cover our hearts. 

How can we purify our hearts and delve into the intrinsically good and pure heart that mirrors the heart of the Creator, our heavenly Father?

The Heart of God

Dr. Martin Luther King said, “At the heart of reality, there is a Heart.”

Behind the human heart, of course, is the divine heavenly Heart.

God’s Heart is the wellspring of His love, the core of His being. This heart impels Him to live for the sake of His children and creation.  What may not be known about God's awesome might and majesty is a fierce concern, intense sensitivity, and incomparable tenderness.  God is the king of love.
 

“Can God enjoy His life without love?” asks Reverend Moon. “No. However omniscient or omnipotent He may be, by Himself alone, He cannot enjoy happiness . . . You say you are happy because you have your parents, your husband or wife, your sweetheart. You say to someone, ‘I am happy because I have you with me . . .’ If that is true with human beings, the same applies to God.”

Jesus addressed his Lord and Creator as “Abba”—Papa (Mark 14.36).
 

More than the most devoted of earthly parents, the Heavenly Father is so passionately concerned with every single one of His children, that no one’s gladness or distress escapes His notice.

“Not one [sparrow] is forgotten before God,” we are assured, and surely each person is “worth more than many sparrows” (Luke 12.6-7).

God's heart works in relation to a partner and it does not stand to be apart or enjoy isolation.  Who can stand as God's true object partner in relation to His heart?

Philosopher Abraham Heschel speaks of a Lord passionately and personally involved with His people. The Bible has the Creator as affected by humanity as a man is by his wife (Hosea and Jeremiah 3.20).

 

God’s heart shapes His ideal, what religious traditions have called the Kingdom of Heaven, the World to Come, the Golden Age.  It is the place where “The dwelling of God is with men,” (Revelation 21.3) as He intended. Intimacy with one’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren—does any parent desire anything more? In the same way, God’s heart wants eternal closeness with each of His children.

This parental heart means no one is outside its reach. God's grace falls like rain on the worthy and unworthy alike. There are no limits to this love; no sacrifice is too great. He “so loved the world” that He would offer everything He has, even His most beloved Son (John 3.16) that “not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” and be saved (2 Peter 3.9). “Turn to me and be saved,” He cries through the prophet Isaiah, “all you ends of the earth!” (45.22-23).

Indeed, this is a defining characteristic of God’s Heart—no one is outside it. Even those who disobey Him, reject Him or even seek to destroy everything He holds dear are not excluded. His wrath and judgment are ultimately for the purpose of reconciliation, of being together with His children.

Thus there is Jesus’ saying to “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,” in imitation of the Creator's characteristics (Matthew 5.44). As Reverend Moon has said, no matter what state human beings are in, “God cannot but love man. You can be so confident as to say, without you, God cannot be happy.”

The impulse to seek joy through loving is too strong for any permanent rejection or estrangement between the Father and any of His children.

God's Heart has three aspects; One is joy, the spirit in which He created the universe.  This is reflected in the infinite varieties of the beauties that make up the creation.  During the creation process, the divine imagination was animated with gladness.


“It was good,” He said of His creation (Genesis 1.10). He was especially joyful in anticipation of sharing His life with responsive children and having them delight in the creation He had made. When human parents happily prepare a nursery and then tearfully welcome a new child into the world, they taste something of God’s heart of joy at the creation.

The Heart of God is the ultimate counterpart to the human heart, and deeper and wider than our own and overflowing with the purest, most profound love. Only His heart so fully, in the words of Blaise Pascal, “fills the soul and heart which He possesses" ... it alone has the capacity to completely stimulate every part of us.

 

Those privileged to have tasted of its fullness have described its intoxicating rapture.

 

“Once the heart of God dwells within you, no matter how lonely you may be you will be filled and the universe will be filled,” states Reverend Moon. “Such a person is infinitely joyful, lacking nothing.”

 

“Ah, my Lord God,” wrote Thomas à Kempis, in, “most faithful lover, when Thou comes into my heart, all that is within me rejoices!”

This is the ultimate happiness and the essence of Heaven. It has been called paradise, nirvana, bliss. Whatever it is called, it is ineffably good and satisfying— an oasis in the desert to the thirsting human heart.

Aspects of God’s Heart
 

This is why the distance from Him that has been the human condition throughout the ages leaves such an ache and restlessness.

As the psalmist expressed it: “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night” (42.1-3). Conversely, when Adam sinned, God searched for him in the Garden, calling, “Where are you?”(Genesis 3.9).  This can be views as God's pure Heart could no longer see Adam's impure heart after the fall occurred.

The fall left Heavenly Father and the earthly children in need of fulfillment having lost their "love partner" of one another.  God's heart has experienced much displeasure.  Who can look at God's situation as wonderful throughout history when one peers through the eyes of God looking upon His lost children disconnected from His heart? "The agonies of the world that burden all but the most callous of souls are."

 

Joy over the Creation Hope and Commitment to Restore the Lost Ideal Impulse to Love Sorrow Over Human Suffering

This is an important aspect of the divine heart: sorrow.

God is likened to a human parent that has to endure witnessing their children suffering through a reckless act or worse, as victims of a crime.  God's heart breaks whenever he sees the torment and misery of the world;the senselessness of war, the wretchedness of hunger and poverty, the harshness of disease, the agonies of families torn apart and the devastation of spiritual emptiness.

 “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it,” said St. Paul of the body of believers (1 Corinthians 12.26); how could the Head of the body not suffer? He agonizes with His loved ones as any of His children do with theirs.

“In all their distress, he too was distressed” (Isaiah 63.9), say the Hebrew scriptures of His relationship with His people; He “could bear Israel’s misery no longer” (Judges 10.16). He was even agonized as a mother in labor: “Now, like a woman in childbirth, I cry out, I gasp and pant” (Isaiah 42.14).  Muhammad likewise felt God’s misery, saying in a Hadith, “I see what you do not see and I hear what you do not hear; heaven has groaned, and heaven has a right to groan.”

Not only does God feel the pain of every person, but this is ever amplified by His understanding of what could be, like a dreamer who is far from his ideal, His unrealized vision for the beautiful world He intended. A parent grieves even more painfully over a child’s mistakes and suffering than the child does, because the elder also knows more fully all the potential and hopes and dreams that have been lost.

God had envisioned a Heaven on Earth and higher ideal than the current situation of the world.

Besides His pain arising from compassion, God’s heart aches for the broken communion with His loved ones. He feels the pangs of joys lost, unable to fully share the lives and the loves of His myriad sons and daughters. This frustrated hope is what Asians call “han,” the basis of what theologian Andrew Sung Park calls God’s “wounded heart”.

Yes, God's heart has been broken at the disobedience and suffering of His children.
 

Scriptures reveal the pain of the Parent who has given all yet cannot connect with His children enough.  His love is largely unrequited. “The more I called Israel, the further they went from me...” (Hosea 11.2). This Hebrew verse captures the poignant lament of a heartbroken Father.

"How often I have longed to gather your children together,” He confesses to a rebellious world, “as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing” (Matthew 23.37).

The parent is willing to give without end for the sake of her child, but joy is incomplete when love is not returned. Indeed, He is described as “grieved” over the wickedness and faithlessness of His children (Genesis 6.5-6).

A Christian from California recounts I’ve never really been very good at sharing my faith with people. Then one day I was walking down the street in Berkeley, California, and I saw this big poster of a missing child. 

That poster seemed to speak to me. I realized that God is missing all kinds of children. Day after day, He watches His children killing each other, robbing each other, crumbling down in loneliness and then going to hell. When I thought how I’d run around searching if my own child was missing, I realized I had to testify to my faith with more fervor to help God find His missing children.
 

God is the fountain of hope. This is the third primary aspect of God’s Heart—there is hope that God's ideal which was lost in the beginning can be restored.

This hope gives power to overcome the sorrow, disappointment, and grief.  This force sustains His awesome perseverance, which has been laboring painstakingly and patiently through His representative for the day of the great homecoming.

He fervently seeks among the multitudes of every child who does not know Him. The Bible offers metaphors for the almighty Lord of the universe.

One is the image of a poor woman desperately searching for a lost coin (Luke 15.8-10), as if the omnipotent One forgets all dignity in His urgent efforts to save His children. Another is that of a shepherd, leaving all of his flock to track down the missing one and rejoicing when it is found (Luke 15.4-7).

If a parent's child was taken captive, that parent would sacrifice and offer anything and any amount of ransom if it meant the liberation of their children held in bondage.  God does the same with more intensity using His whole heart and effort toward liberating man from the chains of ignorance and the force of selfishness.

God cannot rest until even those who have committed the most heinous of crimes repent and begin to cultivate their own hearts of original goodness which emulates God's great heart.

Maybe the best poignant image of the tender Creator is the one painted by Jesus in his story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15.11-32).  The patriarch's aching heart is revealed for his wayward son's return when he stays waiting at the window hoping for the day he returned.  The father forgets everything when he first sights his son walk back to the land and runs forward to greet him. He is beside himself with joy to have his son back, no matter what pain the young man caused. One could say the father is a willing slave to parental love.
 

Since man is made in God's image, God's heart is essentially the same. 

God has fashioned Himself to be vulnerable to His children and to be captive the the same love that captivates them.

“He is the Lord omnipotent, the Lord of all beings, the controller of all,” the Hindu scripture reads, “yet he permits himself to be controlled by those who love him” (Srimad Bhagavatam)—and by love itself.

Because of His unfailing faith in His people and His vision, God can endure the agony of seeing His faithful ones scorned and persecuted and to keep on working until every part of the original plan is realized.  This means, God will not cease His work of restoring His children and world until everyone is back into His bosom.

“He will not falter or be discouraged,” the prophet Isaiah declared, “till he establishes justice on earth” (42.4).

With the heart of the Father yet in the shoes of a servant, God perseveres to save His children, driven by His heart of hope.  The father who pays for his son’s careless damage to another person’s car, the mother who goes to the principal to ask for one more chance for her daughter, the father who stands with his boy in court and offers his own respectability as a hope for leniency, the mother who apologizes to a child her daughter has shared the sorrow of God over the misbehavior of His children.

All share the same hope: if they pay enough, pray enough, love enough, and try hard enough, eventually their children will respond to their sacrifice and love and will become responsible people in their own right. This is the hope of every parent. God, the Parent of all, is the same.
