Center on Higher Purpose for Unity

The previous two posts spoke about finding unity through working toward a greater purpose. It is not easy to live our lives for a purpose that is beyond ourselves.

Even though it seems that it would be naturally perfect for members of a family to favor their family over other, employees to put the company ahead of themselves, citizens work for the needs of the community and countries put the whole of humanity ahead of themselves, unfortunately, we are beings who are not governed by the impulses of our original godly heart.

We witness harmony in nature, but seldom see it within human life. Even though we are God's greatest creation, people are self-destructive.

When an individual is abused by the collective, this aggravates the fear. 

Unfortunately, unlike nature, people needs constant reminders and incentives in order to maintain the right priorities. On the other hand, the impulse to give to the greater good is also strong.

There is a natural fear to give too much and thus being used, this is counterbalanced by the fear of being useless. It is horrible when one feels they are not needed for beauty, goodness and truth in the world.

Being of service to others, being allied with an important end is a fundamental need.

A person feels their value is derived in general not only from personal integrity and the affection of loved ones, but also from having an 'objective worth', a value that comes from benefiting the public good.

Eleanor Roosevelt commented about citizenship:

“When you cease to make a contribution, you begin to die.”

Many have come to realize this truth from experience through combating sadness or stagnation. Therefore, they actively reach out to help someone else instead of wallow in their own world.

Such people know that as long as they pursue happiness or personal growth it will elude them; only when they give to service to a greater goal do these blessings find them.

The heart and conscience pushes each of us to give our time, energy and heart for a worthy purpose. They push us to be like the wax of the candle that gives itself to sustain the light and warmth of the flame.

Humanity has too often denied God's concerns and welfare of the whole for its own petty interests.

To reverse this wrong direction, sometimes the heart and conscience call people to deny themselves to an extraordinarily degree.

Who can explain the course which Mohandas Gandhi gave of himself? Such a sacrifice of sacrifice of self confounds worldly thinking.

There is clearly a deep joy that rewards those who have killed their smaller selves in order to become a part of a greater endeavor.

Relationship as Higher Purpose

The most basic shared projects is the relationship itself.

Members of the family, teammates and business partners often wisely sacrifice for the sake of their alliance, for the 'we-ness”.

This 'we-ness' has a vitality that depends on how much the participants favor the interest of the relationship over their own personal interests to reach their personal goals and meet the individual needs through the relationship instead of around or in spite of it. Any sports team that is good, understands this.

“In order to have a winner, the team must have a feeling of unity,” says legendary University of Alabama Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. “Every player must put the team first—ahead of personal glory.”

People who have been married for a while know this too. They make many sacrifices for the marriage. When a couple makes love within a caring marriage, this is a metaphor for such an idea.

Each partner seeks to satisfy the other and ultimately come to surrender to their higher union.

Rather than lose anything in this surrender, each person gains deep joy and a meaningful connection through it.

In families that are resilient, researcher and counselor Ross Campbell fond that there is an overarching moral or spiritual purpose that binds the members together.

It is a paradox that centering on something higher than the family also strengthens the bonds within the family itself.

A family finds they have a rapport with one another when they give their time and energy to others through altruism such as helping out the neighbors, hosts guests or volunteering for the community.

Such families build 'social capital' as Robert D. Putnam, Harvard University, states is the connection with and good will of neighbors which enhances the family's well-being and helps, supports, and gives strengthen when they are in need of it.

Daniel and Lai-Cheng's family is bound through a patriotic purpose. They are oftentimes hundreds of miles apart. Daniel is in the British Royal Air Force which calls him to leave for about nine months out of the year. Even though Lai-Cheng struggles like all military wives to care for her three young children on a budget and alone, she shares her husband's commitment to her country just as if she was in the service.

She is proud of the example Daniel is setting for the children, to live for something beyond themselves.

She understands that in order for her husband to be happy, he has to have the kind of work he loves.

When he is home, he cares for his children and gives his wife a break from her strenous routine. When he is away, they stay in regular contact.

Lai-Cheng remarks, “I think it works because even though we are often apart and do different things, I know we

are both willing to do whatever it takes to achieve what we want: a family that cares for each other and serves our country.”

Family has become its own island for many, a haven set apart from the wider world. This position impoverishes both home and community and places impossible demands on the nuclear family to meet all the members' needs.

Also, the Western viewpoint of romantic love is too thin for a foundation of lasting love and care for children.

There is a constant questions of “Am I happy? Is this meeting my needs?” This strains the bond and places the cart before the horse.

When the relationship itself and the public purpose is ideally honored first, this nourishes and fortifies the participants' attachment to one another.

Home is the Beginning of World Peace

The True Meaning of the Saying, "All Goes Well if there is True Harmony in the Family."

This is a saying in the oriental teaching.

This is a good saying.  When we talk about a home, of course it has people at the heart of the home.  There are the grandparents, parents and then there are the children.  That is not all.  The house itself is a microcosm of all of creation.  All things are gathered here.

When we think of "my home", we normally think of it as the place where my mother and father, wife and children are.

But my home is not just this. There would also be my grandparents, and the house itself and the yard. The surrounding environment harmonizes well with this microcosm of creation. This is essential for happiness.

When grandparents come into an environment that is not harmonized, they will not feel good.  The sight of a grandfather and grandmother laughing with each other cannot be compared to the noisy laughter of a young couple.

Did you know that all things come together in harmony through the laughter of the grandfather and grandmother when they harmonize with each other?

The laughter of wrinkled grandparents is very dignified.  The grandfather's laughter is deep and hearty.  When he makes a gesture, his movements are slow but broad, high, deep and large.

The deep laughter of wrinkled grandparents is quite dignified.

You may not know this, but all things come together in harmony through the grandfather and grandmother's laughter as they harmonize with each other. The grandfather's laughter is deep and hearty. When he gestures, his movements are slow, but broad, high, deep and large.

Everything should be connected through the three stages of top, middle and bottom to bring about any harmony. 

This explains why harmony does not come from a straight line which links two points on a horizontal level.

Whatever goes through two points is called a line, and two points cannot bring about the beauty of harmony.  It needs to have a curve and bend.

There is only harmony when something goes through three points.

So, we have the grandfather, the father in the middle and then those who are underneath.

Normally, we think of a family as consisting of four generations.  You have the grandfather and grandmother, father and mother, your own country and then your own sons and daughters.

There may be five generations in a family, but normally there are four - your grandfather, your father, your own couple and then your sons and daughters.

Because of this, we introduce the three stages: formation, growth and completion.

This teaching deals with living in harmony and declares, "All goes well if there is harmony in the family."

Why is this?

Because someone wanted to be poetic?  No.

Harmony in the family means that four generations revolve around the united grandparents of top and bottom, east and west, north and south, front and back, and left and right.

We will all live together in the joy of laughter when this is achieved.

Even an Atom Has Aspirations

The message of today's post is the realm of existence.  The balance of human life is so fragile that it can be compared to hanging on the thread of a spiders web.

Could you imagine inhaling ten times without exhaling?  Even to try to inhale three consecutive times in a row is not easy.  You can try it.

The natural inhaling and exhaling are one simple example of the beautiful balance that characterizes all of existence.  Balance and harmony exists on a very thin line.  In addition to the respiratory system, our body also has a nervous system and a cardiovascular system.

They maintain a tight, narrow balancing act to sustain the life of the human body.  For example, if you close one nostril, of course it becomes difficult to breathe.

If you close one eye, then your vision is incomplete and your face is not symmetrical.  Through just these examples we conclude that pairs are necessary, or complementary aspects, in our life.

Where does human life originate?

It starts from a base or foundation that is harmonized.  Common logic concludes that everything has its origin in harmony.

Since we come from harmony and balance, there must be some element that generates this equilibrium.  From studying the Principle, you learn that God exists in dual essentialities.

Then it is possible to determine the subject and object elements within God.  This is one of the truly great discoveries in human history.

A subject and an object is needed to form a pair or circuit.

Everything in existence participates as a subject or in an object role.  God is the ultimate subject of the universe and created all things in the objective role to Him.

Within any subject, a minus or objects also exists.  In other words, the subject also contains dual elements.

The plus, which is subject and minus are supposed to form a circuit of give and take, interacting in a complementary manner.  This basic truth of the relationship of God and creation is seen in the cosmos.  The universe is divided into small entities trillions of subject and object.

But the relationship is always subject or plus, and object or minus, and each of these always contains complementary elements.

Chemistry has identified over 100 elements.  An element consists of atoms of only one kind and cannot be broken down into simpler particles by ordinary or physical means.  Each element is identified by the number of plus and minus particles it contains.

The relationship of plus-minus is marvelously complex and sophisticated and can be seen in all the beautiful aspects of the universe.  The variations throughout the universe come from different combinations and angles of plus and minus.

If we take an individual for example, he may have a very large plus element and a small minus element.  There are many variation, but the basic principle will stay the same.  Each being encompasses 360 degrees and includes various plus and minuses while its composition is unique.

Imagine drawing a line through a circle.  The two complementary halves which are formed match if you go directly through the center and balance is created.

Every atom can be broken down into protons, electrons and neutrons.  Even within the small atom, there are two kinds of electrical charges of plus and minus.  

We can compare the atom with a heavenly body: there is always a center with elements that are revolving around it.  Even the smallest of atoms has an electron revolving around the nucleus.  It is like a miniature solar system.

All the elements of existence can be contracted into a tiny atom or expanded to the solar system and the universe.  The microcosm and the macrocosm reflect one another.

Today, scientist say that the universe arises from energy, but what is energy and how does it exist?

Energy operates only within the bound of universal law.

Which is the first cause: energy or action?  This is like the question which came first, the "chicken or the egg".

I already stated that energy is no exception to the law of existence. Neither energy nor action can be permanent or solid without the fundamental elements of plus and minus. In other words, energy and action are like the effect, or the shadow; the complementary elements of plus and minus are prerequisites to both of them. 

When we look at the law of existence and say that thought, spirit comes before matter, then that means that energy or action cannot be the origin of the universe.  What created this energy; where did it come from?

Within God there is plus and minus and that relationship is found everywhere. 

When plus and minus create a circuit, the action of give and take immediately arises.

Action creates energy just as flowing water through a power plant produces energy.  How much energy you exert depends on the size of your object. 

An extraordinary object calls forth extraordinary energy.

For example, would you use the same amount of energy to pick up a piece of chalk that you use lifting a rock?  To relate to a small object, you only need a small amount of energy, while a large object requires greater energy.

This is the most logical universal truth:  existence begins with plus and minus forming a reciprocal relationship of subject and object producing give and take action.  Energy is generated through such action.

Scientist use examples of energy so much because it is something that they can see and study.

But science must recognize that before there is energy there are two deeper elements which may not be recognizable by the scientific method of research.

Plus and minus are invisible and often impossible to study in a laboratory.  Energy has a prerequisite which scientists do not study that far.  They are content to conclude that the universe originated with energy and that is that.

However, energy is unable to produce action if it does not have the two elements of plus and minus, in other words a subject and an object.

Do you have love?

Can you pinpoint where it is and show it to someone?

You are not able to see the love within you or show it.  However, once you have an object of love, you will feel a certain power moving within you through the relationship of give and take.  You then feel love growing.  

On the same token, people may not know whether or not God exists.  God is invisible like love.  You cannot pinpoint His location, but as soon as we become an object to Him, we are able to feel His power moving within us.

This method is very scientific, even though scientists do not recognize it.

All action in the universe springs from the dual natures of subject and object.

Apart from subject and object, action cannot take place and energy cannot be generated.  

We each have hopes and dreams that must have a direction or goal as their subject.  Our aspirations and goals, thus must work together as a hand in a glove, as plus and minus.  People naturally want to fulfill their aspirations and reach their goals, because we long to resemble God.

Our ultimate goal is to unite subject and object.  We then become perfect objects to God and can have direct give and take with Him.

Just as humans have hopes, all things of creation do, too, although on a different level.

The aspiration and goal of all the elements was the creation of the universe.

Without that hope, they cannot connect to God.  Without unity or love, the universe would not have come into existence. All things of creation ultimately aspire to resemble God.

All Creation Has Purpose

Who dislikes hearing about the "ideal"? We talk about the ideal husband, ideal family, and nation.  When we talk about the home that is most ideal, then that must be the home in which we want to dwell.

This home would probably be located in an ideal neighborhood and built like a mansion seen in the magazines.

Can we say that this world is the ideal world?

As people of faith, we know that we live in more than one world.

Beyond this world, we know there is a spirit world beyond this physical world which is a bigger house than the ordinary one people imagine.

Would we find harmony or disharmony in this large house?

The 'ideal' represents harmony.  Do we live in this world of harmony?  Does it exist?  Is it possible?  Would the ideal house be lit by just one color of light, or would it be lit by all the living colors of the world.

This large house includes all of nature-trees, and flowers in all their beautiful variety.  Even grass that seems insignificant is part of the whole.  All of these variety of elements each contribute to the overall existence.

Everything in creation has a purpose. 

The courageous tiger is admired by everyone, but the tiny insects and smelly skunks also contribute to existence. We humans dislike the skunk's smell, but some element of the universe might like it.

What if we find out decades from now that the skunk's smell has medicinal value for some animals?  No one wants to be bit by a poisonous snake, but that venom has great value for certain medicines.

A blade of grass would feel that they have some kind of tiny supporting role in the large universe, or that they were important enough that the rest of the world would harmonize with its qualities.

What about in the church?

Some members might think that they are unimportant in the church, but may think that they are indispensable in God's dispensation.

If you think you are indispensable then how do you think the rest of creation views themselves?


My eye may realize that it is small, but feel that if it were blind and staring blankly then Reverend Moon would look unattractive. For that reason my eye feels it is important, and I have to agree. If you ask one hair on my head whether it belongs to me or I belong to it, that hair will definitely respond that I belong to it! 


In a way, this seems like mild arrogance, but everything considers its existence to be important to the rest of the universe.  Without having this concept, we cannot begin to think of the ideal.

Out of all of the thousands of churches in America, there may be only one that sacrifices for the world and sits on a concrete floor.  That church would think they are the center of the universe.  That is the ideal, and is very dramatic.

If you were to think that this life of faith is horrible because of the sacrifices we have to make, you will make your life miserable.


Even though people scornfully oppose me, I still think that without me this nation would be lost, and that I am important to the rest of the universe. This attitude is where the ideal lies. 

The more you can make yourself available for the harmony of the rest of the universe, the closer you are to the ideal.

Now, you know how the ideal is tangible in our present life.

The important thing is not what kind of work you do, it is all about how you feel inside when you do the work, the motivation.

What do you think the ideal way to finish doing chores?  Is it to sulk and hate every minute of it or to have the thought that you do this work for the sake of mankind and the universe with a joyful heart.  Work that is done willingly like this will have value.

Who would be happier: the one who is lazy and does not participate in work, or the one who is busy?

The busy person would be more happy because the more work you perform, the more you relate to the variety of the world and the more opportunity you have to harmonize with your neighbors.

Why do we always try to do our best when we could goof off and work at your leisure?

By doing your best, you become more central to the rest of the world.  It is better to work with your whole heart and soul.

When listening to speeches, you can think that among the others that are listening, you will be the champion in taking action and carrying out the words you heard.

The ideal is connected to all practical elements. 

You may do a good performance and it does not guarantee you will be praised or recognized.  Sometimes you may be chastised.

You may think that it is better to receive some reward for a good job, but it is better to be criticized.

No one can subtract from what you did, but by receiving criticism, you create a situation where the critic has to surrender to you.  Then those who praise you can defend the values of what you did.

In other words, you will be able to conquer both elements by what you did.

This is how the saints did their great work.

They were never accepted in their own time, but they had the capacity to digest the criticism of people, thus history remembers and recognizes them and they receive a much higher reward.

When you do the right thing yet the entire world comes against you, it will be your asset.

This is because you will acquire a great capacity to contain all of the elements in the world.

While doing this work, digest the criticism, and by doing so, I am creating room for all of America to eventually bow down to the truth.

Then what would be the ideal kind of work?

It is when you do the right thing, yet receive criticism instead of praise.  When you think in this way, you understand that you have no adversary in the world.  People think it is bad to be cursed at
 because you will acquire the capacity to contain all the elements of the world.

I am one example. I am working hard to do the right thing, but because America doesn't understand this it has opposed me. 1 will digest that criticism, and by doing so I am creating room for all of America to bow down eventually.

There are two kinds of people that receive curse words: the one who deserves to be criticized, and the one who does good things yet receives abuse from people.

What makes something bad?

Evil has no hesitation to sacrifice others for its own good without any righteous purpose attached.  Goodness is giving of the self for the public purpose.

What is the ideal way of life?

We conclude that the ideal way to live is in giving yourself for the sake of others, even when you are criticized for doing so.  There are also two ways to serve others:  one is to do something good yet be criticized and the second is to be totally committed to serving others, even while risking one's life.

Which one is the most ideal way?

Jesus taught this ideal level because he was serious about giving his life for the sake of others.

"He who would gain his life would lose it, but he who loses his life for my sake will find it."

When Jesus spoke that he was the way, the truth and the life, was he speaking of a small mountain or a superhighway that reaches to heaven?  He was speaking about the truth which the entire universe would embrace.

When Jesus said he was the life, he did not envision a shivering miserable life.  Jesus had the authority to speaks these things because in his way of life, he always lowered himself to serve others.

When Jesus said he was the way, the truth and the life, did he mean he was a small mountain trail, or a superhighway to the Kingdom of Heaven? What kind of truth was he referring to?

He meant the truth which the entire universe would embrace it.

When you lower yourself, you will be lifted up, but those who try to elevate himself will be lowered.

When you kick a ball way up in the air, it comes down with great force and rebounds back up high. Is that more ideal, or should it be kicked so high that when it comes down it doesn't rebound but just disappears into the ground?  This is unimaginable.

We may think this is the ideal way, but the ball wouldn't like this ideal way.  But the ball was born for this mission.  If the ball wants to be the number one ball, it has to be kicked hard in the air and rebound back up high again, and last the longest and go the farthest.

When American young people hang out at the club, we may think why do they want to dance and waste their time away.  It may make sense that they would have fun for themselves.  There is no law that says you have to live for the sake of the world.

When we do our mission work and get spit on or criticized, we wipe it away and say, "I am doing this for the sake of the world".  You raise money not for yourself but to benefit the world.  This is what distinguishes your activity from everyone else's.

What is the opposite of the ideal?

Can we judge someone's happiness by how rich he is?  Can we also say that the one who does not own anything is unhappy?  What is the definition of happiness and unhappiness?

It does not matter how elegant your palace you live in, if you live there only for yourself and sacrifice others for your own benefit, you are sitting in hell. Even if you don't have a place of your own, and you look poor as long as you are trying to serve other people, you have heaven.  Is this true?

There are many people that make a good living and live in luxury, they go home at night anguished over their lives that they can't sleep.  A rich man in his heart feels pressure from his society and nation and feels guilty.  This is a kind of self-torture.

There is this fight between the conscience which tells him not to live like this, but he has a desire to keep all his things for himself.

There are many rich people who struggle internally at night for living this selfish way.  Even the walls and the ceiling will say they deserve to live that way.  The fine furniture will say that it did not exist to please the selfish owner, but to accuse them.

When your conscience is clear you feel that the entire universe is embracing you. 

If you sleep humbly under a bridge in a sleeping bag, you would see the beautiful blue sky and sunshine when you wake up the next morning.  The green grass and flowers would make the best hotel room.  Even the gentle breeze jumps around you.

In this way of life, you don't fee anguish when you lie in bed at night, but fall asleep immediately from all the providential work serving others.

If a riot was certain to break out, we should stay at peace while others are uncertain and afraid.
In our way of life we don't feel anguish as we lie in bed at night, but just fall asleep immediately! Who is happier, the anguished rich man, or the person sleeping under the bridge?

The happier person is not the rich person living in anguish, but the person sleeping under the bridge.

Whatever the mission, I am at peace because I do it with all my effort.

The one who deserves to live in the ideal house is the ideal man or woman.  We should concentrate on being ideal men and women, but instead we worry about what you don't have; this is the basic problem.

The main cause of the problem lies within yourself, yet we often place blame on our environment and circumstances.

We do not have time to eat or sleep in doing our public mission, because the nation is crumbling and the world is at stake.

There is not time to spend on someone who is not certain why they are here.  It does not mean we don't care about members, the priority is to follow the bigger cause first when we have too many responsibilities to fulfill.

If a person is totally dedicated to the public cause then he is living the ideal life.

This movement seems like it does not care about people, but that judgment will declines.

This is because the Church is dedicated fully to the public purpose, the basic unselfish cause.

We are taught that we should sacrifice our desires for the public cause, so the person who wants to sacrifice others to take care of him does not understand this concept.  Before you complain, be a frontline soldier who works harder than any other member and then your constructive criticism will be worthwhile.

This is important for new members to know this as they will face many difficult times.

You have many demands and responsibilities with little time.  You have new members to take care of, fundraising efforts and you out there for the mission.  Is it more ideal to fellowship or tell them that you are too busy doing your mission?

The one who is truly dedicated for the public cause will eventually win.

As a tree grows its branches extend out farther and farther.  What if the tree does not bear any fruit or flowers?  Trees normally bear flowers, but for whom does it bear them.?  Would the flowers blossom or have a certain color for the tree's sake or for the ideal of harmonizing the universe?

The color of the flowers are for the sake of inviting insects and bees.  The vibrant colors are necessary to communicate with the rest of the world.  Also, the fragrance of the flowers is not for the survival of the tree.

The fragrance is to harmonize and communicate with others.

When you see the flowers you impart your happiness and enjoyment of them. In reality the flowers possess their color and fragrance for your joy.  It seems as if beautiful flowers in the garden call out for you to touch and smell them.

The flowers, too, would be pleased because their purpose is fulfilled and they were touched and appreciated by others.

It is this communication and fellowship which makes life more beautiful.

Would it make sense for a plant to have green flowers and green leaves?

It is easy to admire how sensible plants are in having flowers of various colors.  People would take this for granted, but what if the flowers were just as green as the leaves?

Is that exciting?

There is a possibility there is a green plant with green flowers, but even then you will find some accent of white or red for instance that sets it apart.

Have you ever seen a plant with green flowers as well as green leaves? Would it make sense? I have always admired how sensible plants are in having flowers of various colors, not just green like their leaves.

Flowers impart beauty and fragrance for the sake of others, for the sake of harmony with the universe. In that harmony a fuller life is generated. 

If we were flowers, we would want to be a stimulating, vibrant color.

God would like the color and fragrance of the one who works hard for His ideal world.   No matter what other people think, at least one person would come to enjoy our color and fragrance-that is God.

That color and fragrance never changes wherever you go, so God would go there and enjoy it.  If you were to wind up in hell, God would go there with you also.  Wherever you go, you carry the fragrance and color which attracts God.

Therefore, activity and life will be generated wherever you go.

It is not that bad if your surroundings are drab, because you would look more vivid.  Others think that this is hell, but we think it is heaven to live this way of life.  The dark circumstances of hell will make you stand out better.

The Chinese character for "ideal" actually depicts a king and a village, so it literally means "king's village," or the village where the king dwells.

A king would not just be responsible for the good of the country, but for both the good and the bad.  Good kings will let other people take care of the good things while he takes care of the bad situations.

God is the King of kings because He thinks He will be responsible for the evil of the world. 

Because God takes care of the bad things, He is supremely good king of all of the kings of the past, present that lived on earth and they will have to bow down to Him.

God Wants World Peace

If God is almighty, He is thinking of peace that is ever lasting and eternal.  He would also think and create elements that would not be a danger or threat to human tranquility and life.  So, what would be the most important thing in life?

Conscience is the most precious, because conscience is the origin of life. 

When we center upon conscience, we can talk about love.  Then a new element of love enters.  Conscience is also connected to the blood lineage we inherit from our ancestors.  We do not realize how much of a precious treasure the conscience is for human lives.

No one can see conscience, because it is invisible.  You each have a life. Does your life belong to you, is it your own private life?  Does it belong to God as a universal life?

We each share the root with the universe.  The mind and body, especially the conscience, belongs to the universe even though we believe our mind belongs to us privately.

Let's say we were to ask our conscience, "Would you rather have your own ancestors, your grandfather, father, the country or nation which would be better to have?  You would like to have an universal ancestor.   Your conscience will propel you to like to have the universal ancestor.

If you do not, then the conscience will wonder why it does not belong to the universe as an universal being.



Everyone competes for the number one position.  In sports, in life we all want to be number one.  This is human nature.  But when we examine the body, we see that the billions of cells and every cell is number one. Each cell is trying to be number one and has certain characteristics.  For example, when you exercise, a particular cell that is number for for exercising will begin to move to fulfill that task.

If conscience is in the number one position, what is in the number two position?  The next most important element is love.  In a sense, both conscience and love are virtually one, because conscience exists in love and love exist in the conscience.  They work together in harmony trying to be number one.

Have you ever seen love?  Do you know how much love you need?  No one has seen the essence of love because love action is a phenomenon.  Only love can be identified through the phenomenon. Love is likened to a shaft, center or axis.  When the wheel is turned, everything revolves around the axis.  On the same token, everything in the universe revolves around love.

Love appears through certain actions of love, then it manifests.  

Where does love travel?

Is it up on the surface or at the deepest depths?  Yes, at the deepest depths. Sometimes we need something high as well.

Even though our original mind or conscience is of noble character, at the same time, each man and woman have developed different types of conscience and therefore makes it hard to unite.  For this reason, God created a central element that enables them to become one, which is love.

Love brings everything into unity like a superglue.  So therefore conscience's ultimate direction and ultimate goal has to be love.

Conscience is driving man toward love as their ultimate goal.

This kind of love is the most powerful and inspiring and can step over any obstacle.  Love can create a bridge all over the area.  Where love is present, there can be no gap created.  Love fills everything, every gap and hole.

When you step on the love staircase, you will go to the highest possible realm.  This is greater than any emperor, king or any power.

Love creates incredible virtues: toward the parents, love creates filial piety; between brothers; it creates brotherhood; it also creates patriotism and the next level of sainthood.

What else can bridge all of these things besides the action of love?

Any material or wealth that brings this about, once these things are lost, so is the unity.  Love is the only element that has the power to bridge the gaps from the level of pious son all the way to saint.

What is the root of conscience?  The root is the Almighty God and the ultimate goal of the conscience is love.

Love creates all kinds of harmony, beauty, goodness and happiness.

Love is so flexible that it can turn and bring the front and rear into one, left and right into one, up and down into one, it's almost like Disneyland. There is so much turning, riding, going in all kinds of directions with everybody riding in and enjoying the many different kinds of rides.

Conscience and love are like that.

We all enjoy riding a rollercoaster because of the experience of the highs and the lows with everyone screaming together.  Are you the type that screams out, "stop, don't yell, I need silence?".  No, even the old grandparents will scream, laugh and smile at the same time with everyone. This feeling is one and harmonious.

On a rollercoster everyone is united.

Grandparents will hold on to their grandchildren, or a stranger or a cool teenager when they are frightened on a rollercoaster it doesn't matter.  When everyone is on a rollercoaster it doesn't matter who that person is, you could kiss them and nobody will blame you.

The same could be said for an energetic concert or an ultra exciting soccer game. The crowd is so excited and united during the performance.  White one kiss black one, black one kiss white one, white one kiss yellow one, yellow kiss red one-it doesn't make any difference-go ahead. Everything is good!

In order to give humanity the ultimate gift, God Almighty created love.  

God made love the ultimate gift from the root of the conscience.  To make love work, God created man and woman, which are plus and minus, to center on love they connect as one for love to blossom.  If we were to take out love, everything would become miserable.

There is a famous quote that if love was taken out of the world it would take less than a day for the whole world to no longer exist.  Love is that important to sustain life on earth.  All of creation begins from the seed of love.

In spirit world, one does not breathe air, they breathe the true love of God.

No one not, even Satan, can deny that the greatest gift of all the Creator endowed upon human beings is love. So, would the correct way for love to travel would be the straight way, up and down or the crooked way?  Would it concern a lot of confusion?

Love travels in a straight line and the shortest distance just like electricity travels through a power line.

The fastest speed of all is true love; the shortest distance and the fastest way.

Love always hits at a straight 90 degrees because a 90-degree impact is the strongest and most powerful.  In this perfect 90 degrees that matches in any direction, there is no loss or no waste because it fits perfectly everywhere.

Sound comes in a straight line into your ears.  Power comes this way, and stops right here. It is here where it becomes zero.

"With love, normally it doesn't matter what day it is; love is universal and today is one of the universal days. So love is the ultimate gift from the root of conscience which is the Creator. The conscience's root is true and works in that same fashion, by the same principle.

So therefore, whatever the root of conscience pursues, the goal and direction is one, not two. So therefore, in order to have love manifest more perfectly, there shall be subject and object, there shall be plus and minus, there shall be men and women-that's how the creation has been made.

Which is the subject: the love root or the conscience root? Love is the subject and your conscience is in the object position.  This is the ideal purpose.  You can connect with the purpose through the love circle.  This concept, no matter how difficult to achieve, cannot be denied by anyone.  It is the principle.

When Father hears the translation, he realizes there are so many important parts missing, and I realize it.

The original speech given from which this post is derived, is given in Korean.  Father knows that because his speeches are translated that there are many important parts missing.  This doesn't make him feel good and he wants to give the speech in English.  This can be likened to a really good steak that you are about to eat, but someone puts sand and flour on top of it.  Would you be able to eat this steak after this?  Translation is like eating a very bad steak.

So the most important thing for human beings are conscience and love. 

The unchangeable conscience looks forward to uniting with the unchangeable quality of love.  Most people oppose

Our mind wants to do everything with unchangeable love.  This is the formula way.  What about American love?  Right, it is very changeable.  American love does not have a center or a base, so the ground is shakeable.  Any place where it is hit will break down the family, nation and society.  This is the American love system.  The problem is that not every American conscience wants to unite with love.

The American love world needs reformation, revolution and action. 

How will we be able to import the true love world?  Would we be able to buy true love just because we have a million dollars?  Are all millionaires happily delving in true love?

There needs to be a revolution started in the American love world.  Don't you think it needs to be reformed and action taken?  The misuse of love is a problem, an epidemic in America.  How can we import that kind of true love?

What we witness today in America is not God-centerd love, but perverted un-centered love.  The whimsical floating satanic love prevails in our society and our true  conscience rejects this kind of love.

As believers we have started a revolution that brings love back to its pure original state.  The only way to solve the love problem in America is through the Messiah at his Second Coming.  Through the Messiah, the solution to the world's problem will be given to mankind.



Return for Since we flowing toward one world, what is the one language that you are going to use in the future?  Learning this language will be more important than learning English, Chinese or Japanese?  Within the Korean language, you can find the deepest thought in the world of religion.  The ideal and the deepest thoughts are all combined into one.

That precious understanding is found in the Korean language.

Right now, the world does not know this, but the world is evolving and moving to the other side.

The high will go down, and the low will go up. And the lowest will go to the highest point. 

This happens automatically, not by force. From this perspective, should Father have taught us and led us differently than he did? Or did Father do well? (Did well. Applause.)


Wise Use

We took fundraising seriously, more seriously than our professions. In the future, property ownership will move from purely individual ownership into group ownership, possibly ownership by family or extended family.

The vertical relationship will be one, but the horizontal relationships can vary greatly. Vertically, it is a "world property" concept. Horizontally, it is group, 360 degrees group property, not individual ownership.
In the future the world inevitably will use resources frugally, not wastefully. We will save resources; they are not unlimited.

There need not be cooking in every house. There can be a village bakery, utilizing minimal resources for maximum product. You can make your own particular dish, but make a lot to share with other people. If everyone does that, then no one has to cook every day.

In fact you would have to cook only a few days a year. And there would be a system by which a hot meal would be on your table within fifteen minutes of your ordering it. You would just enter your order into a computer, and it would be delivered to your doorstep.

This system is useful for ordering clothes. That doesn't mean you have to wear a uniform. There will be hundreds of different styles, colors, materials, and all you have to do is state your size and preference with a number. That day is very near. You say, "Oh Father, that day will be very slow in arriving." No, Father will hasten it. (Laughter and applause.)

Why? Father has manpower and organization power. Moving out is no problem. Now we are making that foundation, connecting every area. Father not only prophesies it, but he has been preparing for it. America doesn't think about making that kind of preparation. China, too, no matter how big it is, will crumble down if it does not prepare. So, is it likely to happen? (Yes.) One reason we can be sure is that spirit world is like that. Spirit world is our original hometown.

The earth is our body's original hometown. Spirit world is the mind's original home town. From here, the only way we can go is toward the mind's world. Americans have to eat hamburger and cheese. Koreans can't do without kimchee. Trends here on earth must follow the pattern set in spirit world. That place is better than here; it is heaven.

No matter how long your life on earth may be, it is only a dot in eternity, one second, compared to the eternal life we are going to lead. So long as we are human beings and not animals, we cannot deny that point. Once everyone understands the spirit world, everyone will understand the way of life we should lead on earth.

We will practice the same kind of life we expect in the spirit world. Father has been educating us to be kings of the market system in the future. Then we can become responsible people in important world organizations. You cannot occupy important positions without training.

What is your guess: is Father's thought practical and powerful enough to bring the spirit world and physical world into unification? ­(Yes.) That is a dual structure. That doesn't mean a relationship between two things that are the same. One is vertical, the other is horizontal. In that sense it is dual.

All existence has to follow this 90­degree relationship. When a tree stands, it orients itself vertically. It doesn't take the horizontal line into consideration; it doesn't matter what slope it is on. The tree is not dumb. It is smart! What about man? Man is dumb, still making 90 degrees according to the horizontal line, the fallen thought world.

We should bow down to trees, because they are better than us, always standing at 90 degrees based upon the vertical line. And birds always take the 90 degrees based upon the vertical line. Only humankind takes the different degree. Dumb. In Korean, dum dum hada means "he is not so smart."

Now it is high time for us to know that what Father has been doing is toward a real goal which will be realized in the near future, as well as the distant future. Fundraising without this vision might be difficult, but if you know why you are doing it, isn't it a hopeful activity? (Yes.)

You may think that political elections are a real activity, but fundraising is more real, because if you fundraise well, you will be able to win election campaigns. Worldly people concentrate on the elections only when they arise, every four years. But we do that always, every day, our whole life.

If black people were to take Father's words seriously and put them into action, they would set the trend and be the leaders. There are two ways to follow. One is to really see the objective; the other is when you don't want to go but you have to. In the latter, you will not go fast; automatically you will slow down, get behind and be defeated.

Man and Woman Created for Each Other

Woman was born to meet man, and man was born to meet woman, right? This is the very truth. Therefore, according to this principle, we must go out in search for the realm of blessing. It is the most evil to leave this realm of the very truth.

With the current climate of freedom viewed as 'do whatever you wish just as long as you don't hurt anybody' makes it unbelievably hard to reinforce sexual mores into society and the youth.  Any traditional views will be seen as outdated or stifling of one's freedom to do whatever they want.

Why was a man created?

It was not for study, money, or power. It was for woman. For woman, man was created. The reason man's bones are made stronger than woman is not for him to earn money and live by himself. It is to support his wife and children.

The physical organs of man are different from those of woman. For who are they for? They are not created for yourselves. Man's were made for woman, so it's the woman's. Woman's is, therefore, man's. Have you ever thought this way?

Fundamentally, why was man created?  Did God create humanity so they can enjoy studying, obtaining money and power?

God created man for woman.  For woman, man was created.

The love that man likes is not his own, and the love that woman likes is also not her own. Isn't that right? 

What is the best thing in the world?  Is it having achieved success with money, career and house?  If you are all alone wouldn't you want to love or be loved by someone?

No man was born because they had the desire to be born.  Woman, which a man needs, is also not born because she desired to be born.  As we get older we realize our roles as man and woman and after growing older as a man and woman we realize that each other is a necessary being to become a husband and wife.

When we look at one man, a bachelor we see that he has to be with a woman.  When we look at one single woman, she also has to be with a man.  

What if man was born and found out there is only other men, how would he feel?  The same for women, would she be happy to be born into a world of only women?

The reason you are born as a woman is because there is a man who needs you. 

At the same time, the reason I was born as a man is because there is a woman who needs me. Isn't that so?

We were born knowing everything.

Love cannot be realized alone or from myself.  So where does it come from?  It comes from an object.
If we are born to live by the heavenly law of 'live for the sake of others' then we must humbly lower our head and live for the sake of the object.  It is precious when we realize instead of trying to receive we see the need to form this philosophy of living for others.

Love is what even God cannot realize alone. Love can always be realized through a reciprocal base. Where does love begin from? It does not begin from myself, but it grows up from a spouse.

Human beings have love. However, love does not appear when a person is alone. When man is alone, love does not appear. When a woman stands in a reciprocal position, then love appears. When a partner in a reciprocal position appears, then love appears for the first time.

God cannot realize love alone.  It can only be realized through a reciprocal base.

When we speak about parental love or conjugal love, we are definitely not talking about love that is centered on 'myself' that starts from oneself.  We are speaking about a love that begins from a partner in a reciprocal position.


Who is the master of love?

The partner who is in this reciprocal position is the master of love.

When two people of the opposite sex realize the harmony of love, a circular movement is formed.  When this couple unite with love and bear fruit, God will come down to man and man will rise toward God with them meeting at the central point.  God thus becomes the centripetal point which is able to reach out to any four directions.  With God as the central point where the harmony is realized, the life begins and mutuality starts.

The strongest power that embraces and activates everything in the universe is love.  

The providence of love which was hidden for thousands of years was revealed by Dr. Reverend Sun Myung Moon. This foundation has been trying to spread through the marriage blessing, forming the place of holy of holy of love, in order to return this world into the ideal of creation which God planned in the beginning.  We must understand that new life and a world of peace begins here in the Completed Testament Age.

Where is the central point for all physical cells and spiritual elements to become 100 percent united?

When man and woman come into puberty, the period where they are to become physically and spiritually matured, they come to the road of love where both the body and spirit completely resonate and become perfect.

What do you think the color of love would be like? Do you think that it would be black at night, white during daytime, and yellow during evenings? What do you think the color of love would be like? Therefore, if we happen to carelessly enter the place of Holy of holy of love, we would be burnt and be killed.

What does the color of love look like?

In the center color of love, there is a strength that can bring peace and unity, a strength that can form a thought of equality of mankind.

Isn't this concept beautiful?  Yet the color of love in today's American society is the color of terrible death!  Instead of realizing a beautiful ideal world of creation, we are sinking into the den of death.  Women and men are supposed to keep their holy of holies for their time of blessing and then once they love one another they continue to love. However, the American public have become like villians invading the Holy of holy of love.


Americans who are not able to see marriage as a blessing from God are like patients with bad eyesight not able to see into the future.  If America continues on this destructive path, the won't be hope for tomorrow only desperation and will self destruct by God's Word and by men who have lost their humanity.


Isn't America witnessing this kind of destruction already?

Where is God's Holy of Holies?

It is the sexual organs of man and woman before the fall where love dwelt. This is the Holy of Holies of Heaven.  What is love? Love is the Holy of Holies where God can dwell.

We have already made clear that Adam and Eve who had to pass the period of adolescence without any problem, failed to do so and went off the track, which became the fall.

The only way to completely clean this Fallen world is through love.  We know that Adam and Eve fell before they had matured past the adolescence period and went off the track taking their future descendants with them.

They had an illicit love affair with the archangel Lucifer and fell.  Then Eve fell physically when she bonded sexually with Adam.  Therefore, humanity has inherited the tainted blood lineage of sin unceasingly passing it on to later generations.

Therefore, God has been carrying on this providence of restoration in order to make man cleanse their sins through indemnity.  Even in the human society when a woman gets married for the second time, there is no reason that the husband would love her if she had not yet forgotten her ex-husband.

God cannot dwell where traces of Satan remain.  To receive God's love we must first die and be re-born again.

What is the bridegroom before the bride?

He is the world-level, virtuous man.  We have heard of a virtuous woman before, we haven't heard about a virtuous man.  Jesus was the virtuous man before the whole mankind who is in the bride's position.

Jesus was the man officially recognized by heaven and earth, the history, the present and future as the man of man.

The Christians are doing this kind of a game. From a position like a beggar, Christians are saying to the prince of God, "Oh, my bridegroom, please come."

You become a robber if you try to become a bride of Jesus before becoming a virtuous woman.  If a woman was living in a cave among robbers, she would be thought of as crazy to say that her husband is the world famous celebrity or the President.  Christians have a tradition of this kind of game. From the position of beggar they say to the prince of God, "My bridegroom please come".

Christians wear rags but tell God's son to come live with them.  This has caused Jesus a deep resentment which he has to be liberated.

God also needs to be liberated.

Therefore, the whole creation could not be liberated as well.  This is the reason for the Second Coming because he was unable to fulfill the bridegroom position and instead went the way of the cross as a secondary choice of salvation for humankind.

Are we children of God allowed to love someone any way we wish or not?

Suppose a man was to call you out on the street, are you to follow him?  You should not have this kind of nature.  We should protect our physical body until the time comes and avoid letting a goblin of a man take over your heart.

Should you let your fate be taken over by such a man?

This problem is not simple.  We only have one fate in  life time and any wrong step and our life can become unstable throughout our life.  Right?

We have been emphasizing purity for women, but this same rule applies to men. Men should also keep their purity, then everything can be restored.  No matter how evil or rough this world may be, we should not be distracted and turn from the original way.

Our adolescence is a precious time when we cleanse and indemnify the purity lost by Adam and Eve during their youth.  This time should be preserved and not be ruined.

If you do not love the world, you would not be able to have a person you can love, and if you do not love God, you would not be able to have a person you can love either. 

After you have loved God, world and the people, then you can love your spouse - this is Principle.

What difference does it make to have a university-level education if a person has lost the value of love? Education only gives limited knowledge in a certain field which can only create an individualistic, materialistic person.

Korean soy bean stew can only taste delicious when served in an 'tok pe gi' which is an earthen bowl.  Just the same, when one is training the personality, it can only be fulfilled to its goal when it is done based on love.

World civilization must flower based on an artistic harmony. 

If you really know the real taste of soy bean soup, you will never be able to forget it wherever you go.
Similarly, if a man tastes the real taste of love even once, he will never be able to change.

On the other hand, if we can find love anywhere and it is easily obtained like instant foods, we would not be able to say that it is True Love.

We see people are making love like instant food.  This is the problem.  Love will not be deepened when one takes a bath in perfume;love will only be deepen, purified and last longer when a couple living on the country side take a cold bath and sleep together.

Is a couple practicing true love if they must brush their teeth in order to kiss each other?

People who have to do this in order to kiss, is it to taste the love of each other or the toothpaste?  The smell of the toothpaste will get in the way of enjoying the taste the individual body order.

In recent generations, we have seen deceitful, artificial and mathematical love spread like wild fire at such a level that it confuses our concept of what true human happiness is.  This kind of love is the main criminal leading the world to destruction.

If all mankind meets man to woman or woman to man based on the theory of reciprocal partnership, there would occur no accidents or acts violating the order of love. The order of true love would be formed when man and woman meet based on the theory of a reciprocal partnership.

When you meet the person you like or love, it is natural for two people of the opposite sex to want to hug or kiss one another.  I try to get in contact with the environment in order to love this universe.  This is a natural act of human beings in order to find a reciprocal partner.

However, if you stand in a position violating the order, ignoring and denying the environment, the ideal order of love cannot be set up.

Control Fleshly Desire, Gain the Universe

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

The mind that is governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh/body cannot please God.

Mind and Body Unity

There was a time that man could communicate directly to God.  This was the state of sinlessness that we witnessed before the Fall.  This is the state of having mind and body unity; a state of the spirit leading the body or flesh.

Is it possible for us to have mind and body unity - for the flesh and spirit to unite into one?  If so, when and where will this happen?  It's not really a question of if it will happen because man must absolutely return to the state of sinlessness.

If the mind and body are moving in different directions they will never find unity.  On the other hand, if the mind and body can welcome each other and move in the same direction, then they will work in harmony instead of be in conflict.

Many ask why God does not make our mind and body unify if He is such a powerful God.

The author of the Divine Principle which this blog is based on discussed about his time in prison for teaching about God during the Japanese occupation in Korea which he relied on this principle of mind and body unity:

"I have experienced the harshest life in a prison labor camp and I found that actually the greatest suffering is not found in prison but in the conflict between mind and body. Sinful man always regrets the consequences of his body struggling against his mind.

I ultimately came to the conclusion that my enemy is not the world or even the communists but my own body. Your worst enemy is your body. 

Do you believe it? I established one very firm principle for myself, that I must conquer myself before having dominion over anything else.

Each of you is also committed to a ruthless battle of subjugating your own body. Your job is to have your body surrender to your mind and then bring it in the same direction. That is why a religious life is the pursuit of conquering your body.

If you have not conquered your own body then you haven't reached the standard yet.

Religion teaches the importance of a life of penance; when your body wants to rest then you should wake up and pray. Your body wants to eat delicious meals but religion teaches the value of fasting.

What the body wants the mind rejects.

What is gained by living that way?

By giving up your body you can receive the entire universe, so it's a very good deal in a way. By giving up a little bit of your flesh you can gain the entire universe.

This is absolutely true.

Why is it that you cannot feel the love of God all the time?

Your body is the barrier preventing the love of God from reaching you. God's love is shining forth but your body is blocking it, so by sacrificing your body and liquidating the barrier so the shining love of God can freely reach you.

Once this happens nothing will be in your way and the total unity between God and man and mind and body can become a living reality. Once you can receive God's love, God will certainly dwell with you. God needs true love and cannot leave it once He has found it.

Do you really understand this now?

What you ultimately need the most is the love of God. Do you know how beautiful and how powerful the love of God is?

In this world men and women have romances and say they could die for love of each other, but suppose they were to fall in love with God first. 

That's the key.

I searched and found how that love of God can be reached. I not only found the answer but have experienced how the love of God can reach man. With the love of God the mind and body can unite in total oneness.

The love of God needs an object in order to manifest; man is that object. When will this become reality? Religions have been teaching that the end of the world will occur when one central figure comes, or in Christian terms the Lord of the Second Advent.

The love of God will be seen where the Messiah and his bride meet for the heavenly wedding ceremony.

Is that place a horrible scene of judgment or a scene of cosmic spring and the fulfillment of love? God works logically and through your own mind you know that the first heavenly family will bring the cosmic spring."SMM

The Messiah will first reconcile the body and mind

The family is the building block of the kingdom of heaven on earth first.  We believe the road to world peace will begin through the nation or on the world-wide level, but it starts with the husband and wife.  The ideal of the heavenly four realms of heart or four-position foundation is a strong point that should be taught: God, man and woman and heavenly children centered on God's love.

When the four realms create a relationship centered on God's love, this completes the circuit for the expression of His love.  This is where the perfection of love is born and the heavenly kingdom will expand over time.  This four-position relationship in each family is duplicated and expands.

What is the Lord of the Second Advent or the second messiah's mission when he returns?

Jesus Christ was to realize a physical Heaven on Earth, not just a spiritual path to Heaven.  Are we currently able to live in a Utopia?

No, Christians surmount that we can only have true peace once we shed our bodies and enter the realm of spirit.  This is why the Messiah returns.  To bring physical salvation.

When he comes it is asked in the bible, will he find faith?

So, will he be spending his time visiting countries to heal people with cancer and feed the poor?  In a way he will be.  He will be giving spiritual food to humanity in order to unite their mind and body with the fire of God's love.

That's the job of the Messiah. If he can ignite the love of God in your heart so that your body and mind can become one, then he has done his job. 

After the mind and body are united you can follow his pattern and create a family, tribe nation and world and ultimately the Kingdom of God on earth and in heaven. If that is indeed possible the world will see salvation. If God is really God and if His love is really burning then that must all take place here on earth.

God would not create such a world to only be recognized and loved in the world of spirit only and He has never given up the fight to bring restoration back to earth and His children.

He cannot build the Kingdom of Heaven without reconciling the body and mind's contradictory elements.  Jesus said we join him in Paradise which is not Heaven.  The Messiah will give the word to teach us how to subjugate the body which is blocking God's love.

What else does God really need from man?

God has lots of love within Himself so why should He need more?  Is He greedy?


"I am a man so I have love in my heart and in my body, but can I say that I don't need any more love, that I have enough love to be happy? It is a profound truth that love will never become real love until it finds an object."


Even though God is almighty, He still cannot activate love without having an object in which He can have a give and take relationship.

An object ignites love.  

Who is the highest object of God's love?  A monkey?

What else but man can be qualified as God's object of deep love?  Then, does the universal God choose to love just any kind of mind or does He long to deal with one who has a universal mind? Is the mind or body God's real object?  Which one does He relate with love?

Your mind is so big that you can even trap God inside.

Your mind feels like it is big enough to challenge the world.  Every human has the qualification to be the object of God because we are endowed with such a mind that God can deal with.  When God loves you, will He complain how dirty you are after you dealt with the satanic world and push you aside?  Is God's love conditional, partial or total and unreserved?

When God fervently embraces you, this burns away all your sinful past in order to try to give you all of His love.

One who is enraptured in the total love of God, every cell will be filled and there will not be a want for anything further.  You feel totally intoxicated in this state and do not want this goodness to end.  This is the real world in which we live.  Every human is supposed to be host to such a love.  Don't we want to have even a taste of such a world now?

This is why we desire and long for World Peace.

The teachings of Reverend Moon is for the purpose to lead humanity toward such a world of peace and love.  But many people believe him to be a hustler or that he is deluding members and people to a beautiful idea in order to enslave everybody for his own selfish purpose.

How do you know this is not so?

Even if he is a swindler, a better solution has never been found in all of history in order to bring about Heaven on Earth.  He is like the plus pole trying to put a fire under the cold and sleepy minus world.

Plus and minus instantly spark when they first unite, but this world has become so numb that this connection has been lost.  It takes a lot of effort to wake up this sleepy world and put a spark that will jump us awake.

Both God and man are in the same tragic situation because their common purpose has not been fulfilled.

What kind of God is He, and why does He approach man?

God and man definitely need one another so there is a common goal or purpose that they both want to achieve to seal this bond where we can meet or else we cannot unite.  We need to know the importance of the relationship of God and man.

Man have used money, knowledge and experience to be able to survive on this earthly plane.  But, does God need these things from man?

No.

There has to exist a common purpose where God needs man and man needs God.  This common purpose has somehow not been fulfilled.  This is the tragedy of both God and man.

Where can we find a remedy for the conflict between our mind and our body trying to dominate the other.  There must be something wrong in our hearts to cause this conflict.  In the original world before sin sprouted, there was a place where both God and man dwell, but somewhere along the way man separated himself from this place and lost connection to God in the process.


Concluding that there is a perfect God and realizing the imperfect state of man today we must come to one logical conclusion: Man is the one who is out of order, not God. Man deviated from his original state and is thus prevented from reaching perfection.


If we reconcile this imperfection of man we can soon connect to the perfection of God.

When we acknowledge the repercussions of the Fall of man, we realize the existence and perfection of God.

This information is very precious.

Many blame God for the situation and state of the world today, but the fault does not lie within God, but in man.  At the same time, through this knowledge we can explain the imperfection and the self-contradiction dwelling in man.

God lives in a perfected state while after we lost our direct connection to God we experienced struggle between our mind and body.  Once we know the true fault of the fall, we can logically justify the existence of a perfected loving God and sinful man.

It is from this point that two worlds came into being instead of just the original pure one God intended.

The world of goodness is governed by God and the world of evil is the result of the fall. 

We cannot accept the premise of atheists that there is no God due to the imperfection of man. We know the Principle. After knowing this we can recognize how the God of perfection has been making efforts throughout history to restore the corrupted world into goodness. Religion testifies to God's efforts.

What is the purpose of religion?

Religion is God's tool to communicate to this imperfect world and raise up good men.  In other words, religion strives to bring this fallen world closer to God.

So, what is goodness?

Anything that tries to bring unity between God and man is good.  People are in the dark about how to define goodness.  

Is hard work, eloquent speech, fasting an example of goodness?

Good springs from love. 

All religion teaches love as the source because it is the common purpose shared by God and man.  Religion has been making effort toward unity between God and man by stressing the common purpose of love.

God's search for men of goodness has love as the ultimate goal and man is searching for God for the very same reason.
