Does the animal kingdom appreciate such things as morality and justice?
Animals only are concerned with their immediate desire which correspond with their environment and circumstances. Their instinct is the guiding force, just like the mole who knows how to dig holes and eat insects.
The mole lives underground and has very small eyes. They never even think about circumstances. Instinct is the guiding force of the animal world, like the mole who knows only how to dig holes and eat insects.
Moles live underground and have very small eyes, but they never think of the possibility that there are larger eyes, or that living in the light is enjoyed all over the world more than the dark.
Humans, however, do have the ability to imagine such things as swimming underwater and flying through the sky even though we were born on the land.
Humanity has built things such as automobiles and airplanes in order to travel faster than our body can carry us. Everyone without exception wants to enjoy the best experiences that life can give.
What is the 'best'?
In relation to our bodies, it simply means that it is normal and functioning properly.
Therefore, the ideal is not anything less than the best. To achieve an ideal, you often have to go beyond your own normal capacities and limitations.
If a short person wants to see something up high for instance, he has to stretch himself up in order to do so.
We are living in a time of confusion. Everyone has different opinions of what is right. Some follow the life of leisure and purely sensual way of self-fulfillment. Others do not know what path to take for their lives.
Sadly enough, there is a widespread attitude Americans young people have that the older generations and traditions have no value. Students dislike the teachers position and do not see why they have to respect them or even listen to them.
This basic attitude disregards other people and only seeks self-gratification just for the present moment.
Is this more a godly behavior or another?
Satan promotes such behavior and those who live such a live of just living for themselves find that they are constantly blocked and frustrated.
On the other hand, God is always encouraging actions that enable people to move freely throughout the universe.
People of goodness and righteousness are always happy for their actions to stand out while those who live a shady lifestyle, literally try to hide themselves in the shadows. Satan's only criteria for goodness is his own benefit. God's criterion is the benefit of all.
This strong line that divides the realms of evil and goodness means that there is much conflict between them.
When one person from one side tries to enter the domain of the other, he becomes very uncomfortable. He will be pushed to conform to the wrongful standards of that realm.
Those in the communistic and democratic systems try to relate to one another, but neither is able to approve of the other. They are not able to live side-by-side peacefully. There is always hostility between them.
People are very complex beings, having dimensions of both mind and body.
No one is able to see his own mind and say where it is precisely located. But no one can deny that their mind exists!
The mind and body have different dimensions and substances, but they form components of yourself.
This is where the individual exists, at the point of intersection between mind and the body.
If we were to draw on a graph a horizontal line representing the body and a vertical line intersecting it representing the mind, we see the shape of the individual is determined depending on the angle at which the mind-line and body-line intersects.
Communism asserts that mind and spirit are just the by products of his body's actions. They believe that matter came into existence before the spirit or thought. That there was no thought necessary for matter to come into being.
This is wrong thinking is important to clarify and point out as false because it is the beginning of 'self' and denial of God's existence.
This means that the mind and body on the graph are running parallel to each other. This distorted shape typifies the communistic way of think and is far from balanced or harmonious.
The universe seeks for circular motion and shape in everything. The cells of the body, the planets in the solar system, even the shape of the universe are all rounded and circular in shape.
Without the balanced intersection of two equal lines, a circle cannot exist on the basis of the central point.
What does this have to do with the life of an individual?
When a baby is born, he is not aware that he has something called a mind and a body. As his mind continues to grow, it will either develop in the ideal vertical direction or it will be misdirected.
If all the aspects are to be balanced, his mind's path of growth must be perfectly vertical.
For the child to grow along the perfect vertical path he must fully depend upon the guidance and direction of his parents. Within twenty years, his body will finally achieve maturity, Even though the body may be physically mature, the mind is still capable of being deflected from its proper path.
A child needs the direction of both his father and his mother in order to become a completed, mature individual.
It is common in America to marry, have children, divorce and remarry, sometimes several times.
Some homes have children who were raised by several step-parents. Therefore, it is not easy or natural for the children to accept discipline from a step-parent.
We know that many people still have resentments throughout their lives for the way they were treated by their step-parents while they were growing up.
Who can deny that this is generally a sad situation? Those who praise the American lifestyle, should also praise the mixed-up family life that many children experience.
It is natural for a loving father and mother to discipline their child. It is their responsibility to direct his vertical growth. If they see him going off the path, they must set him straight. Most children will complain, but without their parents' discipline, they would have no chance of achieving a healthy, vertical line of growth.
This is the simplest answer to why parents should guide their children.
Parents are responsible for the child successfully connecting their mind and body. Even the most hardened of criminal understands this and will strive to make their children good, happy people.
It is human nature to seek the ideal for our children.
If mankind had followed God's direction in the beginning and the fall had never happened, mankind would never have needed a Messiah or True Parents to come to earth.
Every parent would have already reached perfection as individuals and be of perfected love. Unfortunately, all natural parents have been born to a sinful lineage of the first parents. As fruit of their fallen love, all mankind has not known the true love of God.
We really cannot blame our parents for not being able to give perfect love, because no one has truly received it.
This is why the mistake of the first parents should be reversed by the first True Parents on the earth.
They must accomplish what all earthly parents have not been able to do, which is, to guide children along the proper, godly vertical path of growth.
The very beginning of evil was just the opposite of that. It was the misdirected desire of an archangel and a woman to possess someone for themselves.
Eve and her love belonged to God, Adam and the universe. But the archangel filled with jealousy, wanted Eve's love for his own gratification and comfort. This is where the True Parents in the Last Days begin to restore the fallen bloodline.
People must learn to change their fallen, selfish desire to want to possess and turn it into the proper direction.
The point where we desire something centered on ourselves and not God is each person's arch-enemy.
The very source of evil is the selfish, desire to possess for oneself.
How do we eliminate this selfish 'I'?
Only through learning to love God and the world more than anything else we want to possess. You should be able to say that the only thing you want to possess or be possessed by is the true love of God.
When you go out on your mission, you are receiving the best, most practical way of training in redirecting your sense of possession. You take all the earnings each day through fundraising and giving it to God and His purposes.
You do not even keep a penny for yourself. When you are able to endure persecution, you are being transformed more into God's image more quickly.
Then this means that suffering from this viewpoint is good.
True Parents are absolutely necessary in fully eradicating the fall completely from man's lineage.
The ideal way is to begin life all over again in the womb. How is this accomplished?
In order to be born, of course, one needs to have both a mother and a father. The parents must be totally united, supporting each other giving perfect love to the child.
Yes, there has been love in the world, but after the fall, this love is not centered on God.
When we did not follow God's word, we have been severed from God's direct love and blood line. Therefore True Parents must be born on the earth with a love which is pure and stems directly from God alone, not having any satanic ties.
True Parent's purpose is to re-educate all people to become sons and daughter of God worthy to stand before Him without shame. They would never exploit anyone for their own sake.
He would only want to sacrifice himself for the people there and raise them to a better position.
The sons and daughters of God must rise above distinctions of nationality and culture and learn to love the entire world, since God loves the entire world.
Have I been doing the right thing to send American young people out to do fund raising? Through fund raising experiences, you can liquidate the root of the original sin, the desire for possession centered upon oneself. Once you understand that, you can feel great joy and commitment in your work.
Many times you may ask why you should walk this path of faith being persecuted.
You may think that if this work is so good, then why are you treated so badly. But once you re-examine your reasons and continue, you will then discover how close you are to the heart of God and how much your work means to him.
Some people are able to do this work for years, because they have the understanding by going this path, they are restoring the world through dedicating their energy and materials.
What a noble life to work for those reasons.
Those who give to you during your fundraising activities are also participating in God's providence.
They and their children will be able to dedicate their lives totally to God because you gave them the chance to start building a bridge back to God.
You must understand while you are dedicating your lives in this way, there is far more significance than simply giving cents you receive. This kind of dedication has brought the church to the point where it is today.
There was plenty of opposition to this movement, but that is gradually dwindling and ultimately step-by-step, we will be able to see the world turn back to Heaven's side.
Now, you understand that the ultimate purpose is far greater than the money you earn in your activities. Through your mission experiences, you can learn to look at things with eyes that the world and even God can share.
These are very basic points of the Divine Principle.
God's ideal at the time of creation was for unity of the four-position foundation (God, parents, siblings, spouse relationship) be established on earth.
Instead, the first parents united with Satan following his direction. We have not been able to accomplish this in the past, but for the first time in history, there is the possibility for the ideal to exist.
This is the purpose of the Lord of the Second Advent.
This is the first time in history that God's ideal has the chance to be fulfilled which is heaven on earth and children born of His true love free from sin.
Do you understand the value of the time which you are living?
When night time passes, day time begins. Just as persecution must pass, the time of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth will begin.
People all over the world would appreciate this news if they had a chance to hear it. We are living in the times that the saints have prayed for.
