 The future world is the age of hobby lifeMany wonder that if this new millenium is just the beginning of a life lived for God's Will, what kind of life and world will that be? Will it be like the Jetsons, with flying cars and push-button jobs or will we return to living off the earth finding alternatives ways to use the earth's energy as a resource? However, the new world may come, everyone envisions a world of incredible development and a better economic way of living. Human beings will be able to have enough time to enjoy their leisurely pleasures and have enough wealth spread among them to do so because of technology. As a result, humankind will learn and understand about the greatness of nature. We will have more appreciation for God as we will try to overcome the differences of culture, race and national borders. Isn't that the kind of world we are enjoying at the moment among the accounts of chaos? We are at the crux of a new era as the world of evil and destruction of the world falls away. After we have gone through this process in the world, then the ideal world will come. We will enjoy the true life, a life of loving and caring for one another. The leisure industry will be the big enterprise of the future. The technological industrial age is an age where people do not have the need to suffer the need of hard labor due to automated technology. It is even almost that way now. Just like the Jetsons, machines work once the person pushes a button. A time will come when there will be three or four machines that can produce products day and night where before it took thousands of people to do the same labor. Then what kind of industry will flourish in that age? It would be such things as the entertainment and fashion industry which both fall under the category of the industry of leisure. We have already entered this age. It has influenced the world already in not such a great way. If these industries were centered on God, the world could be quickly influenced by His standards. This will be the time to build an economic foundation. The leisure and tourist industry are bound to develop and flourish. We have already passed the age of the slave labor where the president of a company worked at the desk in the office. The computer age has already made it where we can work anywhere outside of the country using man-made satellites. Orders are given while the executive is fishing on a boat while on vacation. We are getting closer to a heaven on earth step by step. The boss can run the business from a position of freedom where he can enjoy his hobbies and get rid of stress.The coming age where more countries, races and communities will unite, will need to have a way for families to travel around the world by car. An international highway is in the works to connect the four continents around the world. This project seems impossible like the Panama Canal in its day and age, but is a necessary link to physically unite the world. This leisure industry will help people to feel God's happiness toward creation. Artists will be influenced by the good spirit world to uplift the beauty of God's creation in their works. There is a system in development that will bring farmers who live close to nature to unite with those who live far from nature in order to develop and educate them. We see this happening in many established corporations. People in urban areas can support them both through the best scientific technology. This is why developing the hobby business is important in order to enjoy many hobbies around the world. God did not create the world for His children to suffer, but for them to enjoy all the luxuries of His creation. The hobby culture will be able to help in that development. A life of leisure is the kind of life God likes. You probably didn't know that your hobbies are connected to the creation. So many different hobbies are waiting for me. I never get exhausted. By enjoying one hobby after another, I automatically come closer to God's world. This is the best life that men can hope for. The hobby industry is the shortcut leading to the world of peaceWe must enjoy leisurely pursuits. God did not create the world for His children in reluctance; He made creations so that He could feel its excitement. We also must experience this same joy when we experience God's creation. We should not do hobbies because someone tells us to do so, but we should do so because we enjoy them. All of these industries - leisure time, the hobby industry and hobby research and so on - should be centered on God. Only then can those be things that belong to God and used regularly by the beloved sons and daughters of God. Otherwise, they become Satan's possession to destroy and distort away from God's purpose. I am not doing this for the money; in fact, I am investing a lot of money in order to develop these ideas. We have a lot of preparation to do in order to enter the spirit world. At the age of sixty you should go back to the farming area of your hometown and prepare by digging the land and exert yourself with devotion. Through fulfilling your responsibility in guiding the farming areas you fulfill the purpose of the hobby industry and leisure time iself. You then become a caring, warm-hearted person who is able to live in the upper level of the spirit world and make good use of your time there.
We have normally thought of the leisure industry based on how much profit can be returned. Fishing and hunting can be pursued for profits and commercial interests. That is what makes the leisure industry different from the hobby industry. The hobby industry can spread to the smaller cities where people can enjoy themselves in each of the four seasons. We each have our own path and different tasks in which to fulfill. There are people who work at a factory, company and such with various jobs. There can be groups from 100 to 360 that are assigned to various jobs, in this way, different groups would do this work. Then fifty percent will be returned, therefore, the entertainment business is the best.
The leisure industry is for profit while the hobby industry puts the hobby itself as its purpose.
People say that people without money can't enjoy a hobby, but that is not true. You can enjoy going on vacation once or twice a year; this is what the hobby industry would be able to do in the future. I believe that being the first to make such a worldwide organization is the short-cut in leading to peace in all fields, including the world's money market and human resources. That is why I have been preparing this ocean plan for twenty years. So along with this hobby industry, I am thinking of doing farming as a hobby. Back a hundred years ago, people spent most of their time surviving, cultivating and finding food and such. This day and age, the youth and people have a more free time - this can be a problem as well for the world. Now, is the time to encourage people to live off of their hobby.

The Public Way and the Private Way
You all know that our lives have an historic quality. When we say historic, we are including the past, present and future. For example, I am speaking now in the present, I have spoken in the past, and I will continue to speak in the future. In this relationship our lives are connecting three points.

Some people place importance on the past, some put emphasis on the present and others think seriously about the future. American people are proud of their nation's past, but they are also proud of the present and expect to be proud in the future.
This is the American view that their past is big, the present is bigger, and they expect for the future to be much bigger. It is natural for everyone to hope for this. The third possibility is that the past, present and future would all be big.
When we say 'the public way', we are speaking about the larger aspect. The private way is the smaller way.
What is the meaning of 'big' or 'small'? Where is the line drawn between the two?
When we evaluate someone, we say he is a big or small man. If we say he is a big man, we imagine that his future ahead is bright. If we say he is a small man, we do not think that his future is so big.
The culture that we live in was created by our ancestors. They have always thought of the future more than their present time. They worked to make this huge civilization that we enjoy come into being.
There was a time where majority of America lived on the country side. They had once dreams of easy access to other areas and quicker routes to necessary stores and faster cars and better ways to travel around the world. All the luxuries we enjoy today were through their hard work and sacrifices.
We cannot deny this.
When we look back and see that religion had more to do with advancing civilization than any other material things did. From the religious perspective, when one lives for a definite purpose, he is guaranteed that his future will be big and stable.
It is in man's original true nature to want many friends, not just one or two if he wants to expand the scope of his activities. Aren't you that way or do you live in a closed off private manner?
In China, there is hardly any private ownership, but the country is packed full of a billion people.
Everyone wants to become wide, or big. Therefore, in the past, people dreamed of a bigger future, and now we want our future to be even bigger.
How would God think about this? Which of the three possibilities would He choose?
He would choose the third one. If God thinks and lives in a public way, so why hasn't humans who are made in His image live in that way?
God had high hopes to expand when He created Adam and Eve.
Would He begin creation with the thought that it would have a good beginning, but it was natural for it to narrow down to destruction?
Eve came into being for Adam, therefore as a couple, children came into being. After their family was established, there came a race, clan, nation and so on.
We have the invisible and visible world. Man is the intermediary situated between the two.
When a thought comes into being in the visible world, then it will also be realized in the invisible world, not just as a thought, but will come into reality.
When something big is actualized on earth, then the invisible world will expand in reality in a corresponding area.
God must have had an grand expectation for how the wonderful the world would be.
Humanity has the possibility to become greater than the way we are living now, but mankind has been neglecting God, thus man has narrowed down his future.
Mankind's thinking has become narrower and narrower, therefore, the future which we can project is also narrow.
As a result, there are now two realms: one is the world of life, and the other is the world of death; one is the world of God, the second is the world of Satan.
The public way of life is lived for God and the for the sake of the future.
We have a way where we cherish the past, for God exists in the past as well as the present and future.
In other words, it is the public way to cherish God and the future of mankind.
If one lives with that image, then he is living the public way.
How would God view this?
When God was guiding Adam and Eve, would He have told them to love Him and neglect thoughts about the future? God must have told them to love each other and their children as much as they loved Him.
If God said for us to love only Him and no one else, then He is in fact denying the past and the future, too.
Before the Fall when God was close to Adam and Eve, He would have asked Adam if he loved Him. Adam would say, "yes,". God would then tell him to love Eve more than he loved God.
This means that God has a certain plan for the future, and was using Eve as an example to teach Adam
about the future.
Let us go forward laying a foundation for the next year, more than for today.
Then next year, we will try harder for the sake of the next year after that. While standing in the present, we have two directions. If we retreat to the past, then we head toward hell; but if we go forward, then we will go to heaven.
Hell is where there is no movement, no room for growth; we were born to constantly move forward.
Because of the fall, the Kingdom of Heaven is yet to come in the future. Kingdom of Heaven existed in the past, but is not here in the present, but it is in the future.
We work and live for the sake of God and mankind, and if we retreat, which direction would we be heading?
The only place that would await such a person is hell.
If we continue to advance, however, then a big future is in store for us.
Just because our present time is difficult, should we retreat, or should we crawl forward inch by inch?
We can think that God has been teaching man to love others more than they have loved Him if He wants to insure a big future for man.
If as the leader of Unification Church I say that you must love all others more than you love me, then I am speaking as a public-minded teacher. If I said that you must love me more than others, then I would be leading everyone in the direction of hell. In that case I would be self-centered and retreating toward hell.
What is the difference between Heaven and hell besides the obvious?
Hell has no future with no possibility to better the situation and heaven has a broad future ahead. The deeper we go into heaven, the broader and brighter our future becomes.
The public-minded way wants a bigger future than the present, while the private way does not think about the future, but only about the present and the past.
The Fall began from a self-centered position. Man thought only about himself in those moments instead of God or the future.
Whoever is centered on himself and wants everything done for himself is going in the direction of hell.
If you are able to love others more than yourself, you are already headed toward heaven.
When you think of yourself, you can only think of the present and the past, but when you think of others, you are in the objective realm, which is the future.
If you are alone, then it is all right to love yourself, but once someone else comes into the picture, then you should love that person more. When Eve came into being, Adam was supposed to love her more than he loved himself.
Then, when they had a family, they were to love the family more than they loved each other.
Once that family expanded to the clan level, they were to love the clan more than the family. Thus, we can see that when the nation was born, it would have been cherished more than the clan. For the sake of the world, even countries would be willing to forget themselves.
This is the process where world peace would have been established from the very beginning.
Why do electrons circulate around protons?
They do so in order to create the world. If the proton was to instruct the electron that it should not go faster or be bigger, then the world would never have come into existence.
Each one should be willing to let others become bigger and better, and even encourage that expansion, for then the small entities will eventually form a big world.
We know that the individual should exist for the family, the family should exist for the sake of the clan, and the clan will live for the nation and so forth. No one wants to carry this out because it is so difficult.
If we were to love each other so much, then we would be connected to everyone by love, and thus become bigger. If one thinks more of his family than he thinks of himself, then he pours himself out for his family. Wouldn't the neighbors join in loving that family as well?
Everyone would want to participate in loving such a family, and in that way, they will come into unity. But if everyone is self-centered, can unity come about?
If each person was to live in such a way, then they would be scattered.
Everyone wishes that they were to live in a loving family.
That way they can come into unity. No one wants to grow up in a household full of conflict and confusion. If everyone in a family is centered only on their own life, then unity would not be possible.
Then, we can conclude that the smaller one should be willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of the bigger one. That's the public way of life.
Think of a situation of a cow eating grass. From the viewpoint of the grass, is this the public way or the private way?
What about from the cow's point of view?
When the cow has the definite purpose in eating the grass, he knows that it will one day become service to a bigger being, humanity, then it is going in the public way. If a man is confident, then by eating the cow, he also can be of greater service for the whole, then he is acting in the public way.
When we think of it, the act of eating is a private action in and of itself. But if it was to be connected to a bigger purpose, then that becomes the public way.
We may not think this is natural to think of ourselves last, but in the public way, everything becomes an extension of oneself.
One will never become as huge as the universe, but if we connect with other for the purpose of the future, then indeed we become as big as the universe.
Think of each blade of grass. By itself, it can never become more than a few inches high, but when it is eaten by bigger and bigger things, then everything can be connected to God.
Each cell in the grass, becomes a cell which God loves directly because it is in the cell of a being whom God can love. Those cells in the blade of grass would want nothing but the love of God.
There is nothing better than God's love in this world.
Would a woman want something else than her husband's undivided love?
Would she want money more than love?
Jesus said that if there are those who want to live they will die, and those who are ready to die, will live. He also said that whoever wants to become high will become low, and whoever wants to become low will become high.
This would not have much meaning without love.
This naturally happens centered around love. With love, it is possible to jump up to higher and higher levels. A president may fall in love with a humble country girl, but she would be lifted to the status wife of the president if they were to marry. Everyone in that country would treat her as an equal to the president.
There is confusion about this point in America.
We observe individualism in America.
Living in this way, is there any way to be connected to the future? We have to say that America has a way to be connected to the future. We must look for some way to become connected to heaven.
We can predict that if America continues to live in this selfish way, that it will soon perish.
Why is this necessary to point out?
Because we are in an emergency situation. You want to do better work than ever before and you want to stay in the public way or else you will become tired and exhausted.
If we are to sacrifice, we have to transplant part of ourselves.
Cancer cells grow very quickly, but our positive ones will spread even more quickly than the cancer cells. The reason why we don't expand as quickly is because there are individuals who are not sure about which way they want to go and they don't want to sacrifice themselves or their physical desires.
If you don't have a clear understanding of why you should just jump into more difficult situations, then you shy away.
I never thought that I would become bigger and bigger, but only said, "I must do my mission and live up to the expectation of the world and God." I was too busy to think of anything else except following the Principle, and one day I found that a bigger and bigger realm had been created for me.
Father just continued moving forward in the principle way, not thinking about being acclaimed or recognized in a grandiose way.
It does no good to think about receiving that kind of recognition, it is too grand.
If a president of a country was to visit God for advice, God would tell him that he needs to love the world more than he loved his own country. God would not tell him that his country was more important than the world.
If there is an important mission that you should do according to the Principle, then you should not hesitate about doing it. You should not worry about what others think of you, or even what God or spirit world thinks.
As you go forward, do it, then you will realize that at some point that people have come to recognize you even though being recognized is not your goal.
Once that standard is established here, then it is automatically done in the invisible world. Then the spirit world will expand.
To witness to your home church area of 360 homes, you are living in the public way.
When things become difficult, you find reasons for not going to your home church. How can one be too busy for this kind of mission? No matter how difficult it is, you must at least think that what you are eating and drinking is for the sake of the people in your home church.
You must think that those in your area are a part of you and that you cannot cut off that connection.
If you are literally, just too busy to go to your home church, then you can sleep there. If you cannot do the work, then you should take a look at the work and determine that you must do it.
If you are unable to go to your area for one day, then you should at least take a look at your home church. Spiritually, there are many people really waiting seriously for you. You are unable to feel that because you do not sense things spiritually.
You must see that even though those in your home church area may seem successful and happy, they are imprisoned by a wire fence and they and their ancestors are crying out for you to free them. You cannot hear their cry or see that they are in prison with no way out.
You have been learning the prophetic truth of the Completed Testament. Armed with this knowledge, you are able to hear them cry and you can liberate them.
If you are unable to do that, then you have to pray about that to God and explain the situation to Him.
Now, after learning this you think all that is necessary is to pray for your home church. But if you pray once, then you have to go there and take a look at your area.
Imagine that your spouse or your fiancee was in your home church area. Then would you go enthusiastically?
You may find out that as you are headed to your home church area, that your body turns toward his area! Do you think that your fiancee is more important than those in your home church providence?
You shouldn't waste time writing letters or holding hands for one year. The principle says that we should love our home church area more than we love our fiances later.
That's precisely the way I went. My own family broke up because I practically ignored them in order to live first for the sake of the dispensation. If I had done that for myself, then it would have been a crime, but because I did it for the sake of the country and the world, it was right.
You should never be confused about what is the public and private way.
If you were going forward for the sake of the world, yet your wife decided she will not go with you, should you remain with her or should you go out into the world.
Would many foundations have been built if Father stopped because of a spouse?
We are called upon to sacrifice by everyone and everything around us, even by God. If this is the public way, we know that there is one thing we must do no matter what happens to us.
I did not come here for my own sake. In fact, I sacrificed myself. I did it for the sake of the world, for God, and to make this country live. How nice it would have been if I didn't have to fight against Congressman Fraser, Capitol Hill, and the government. I did not fight the easy way either. If I had lost, then the Unification Church would have been taken over by Satan, but I was willing to take that risk. Prison and death were waiting if I had failed.
There was missionary that was martyred while working in Africa. When Father heard the report, he had surmised that he had done his mission completely, and that he would become the permanent ancestor for that country.
If he had died doing the work for the world, then he would have become the ancestor of the world.
The world surrounds the country and it is protected by the world. Heaven surrounds the world.
If the fall had not taken place and man had not disconnected from God, then all of these things would have taken place automatically.
After the fall, we are trying to create a bigger and bigger environment.
If we had stayed connected in heaven's realm creating Heaven on Earth, then we would have been protected by heaven 24 hours a day. We wouldn't even experience a small risk.
But because our connection was severed, the world is a different place from the ideal world which God envisioned.
We are living in the time where we have to cross over the border into the country where we have nothing to do with evil.
Those who have passed into the spirit world are still heavily influenced by their past experiences of life they lived in the fallen world on earth.
Each spirit man wants to cross over his own boundaries and become bigger and better, but he has to cross over that borderline from the fallen world into heaven.
This is the path that should be taken, but no one in the past has taken the position to see the right direction clearly. Therefore, there is a lot of confusion in the spirit world where people do not know how to get out and go where they are supposed to be.
There was never meant to be a divide between the spirit world and the physical world. The spirit world is unable to come to work on earth freely.
It has been difficult for those in the spirit world to get together and break through the barriers they have created while living on earth.
This is why the Bible states that what is loosed on earth is loosed in heaven.
Many people who walk this path are having many spiritual experiences and visions. What you are experiencing is happening only once in history. It is not an accident, but with that great privilege comes responsibility.
We are given a clear direction, for the first time in history about how to pioneer the way from the fallen, individual level, to the family all the way to the world level.
Heaven is realized in spirit world to the extent it is accomplished on earth first.
The church exists for the liberation of the world, thus Americans must sacrifice their desires for the sake of the world.
This is the way of the teaching.
If we are able to sacrifice for the sake of the world, the nation's ideal will be idealized. If Americans are able to turn away from their selfish way of life and to follow the correct path, then the rest of the world will follow.
In other words, we will be able to save the country by loving the world. The quality of love which you give your family and nation is the same, except that one is wider.
You have one hair on your head, but we are all connected through one life force. The individual is connected to the universe through the force, by heaven.
Through love, all of the world is one.
Life is possible through the individual, but love is for the world. Therefore, you can do your best in your life for the sake of love and the world. This becomes justice and justice is loving the world. Have a clear idea of this.
This concept is not vague.
Of course we must eat in order to sustain life, and to love others is also a truth.
Truth is eternal and love is truth. Even in the future, everyone will have to go this path of love.

Leading the Future
Many people fear that that reality will be like a communist tyranny, but a united world and people is God's ideal for creation since the beginning. Communism tries to bring about world peace through force, taking away human freedom and doing so without God. This is the major difference.
The church that is willing to sacrifice itself for the good of the nation, will lead the way in the future.
Have you met anyone who works hard to reach third place?
In the past, America thrived in the number one position in the world. Any other country that was different than that standard was in second place. Now, America is in the third position and dropping. If someone was to show evidence that America still was blessed in the first position would be false.
There is a desire for America to be in the number one position because God sacrificed to bless America to lead the world with its Christian values.
America was the youngest country and it won the number one position after only two hundred years of its official inception. This is because it had its strong roots in the ethics of Christianity. America was number one in all of the fields. Is it easy for one country to accomplish that task? It takes a lot of discipline and training to be and also stay in the number one position.
Is this possible, probable or just remote?
How long would a small village last that had citizens that starved while other feast everyday?
It is inevitable that this village is bound to have fighting and separation. If the world moves toward equal privileges and equality, who would complain in that type of society? Therefore, the unequally wealthy will not sustain that position for long.
The whole world first belongs to God.
Groups will own the things bigger than the individual; hundreds of millions of small groups will have ownership. Members of a church sacrificing themselves for world peace will be the forerunners and pioneers toward a world of peace. Everyone in the future will fight to do the work that needs to be done. The technology will advance so much that just a push of the button on a computer is all that is needed. It will be enjoyable and people will compete to that type of work.
We see that automation will become more and more advanced, such that eventually you don't even need to go to the workplace. By satellite, the factory can be controlled from home. That's high tech. You may not realize it, but that day is already here.
Technology is so advanced that a corporation doesn't have to operate from the office. Faxes, telephones, computers and the internet have advanced so much that one doesn't have to travel everywhere to get the message out or do the work. Technology blossomed in the 20s to support the mission of the Second Coming for this purpose.
The Sheep
Just like the tide in the ocean: heart moves the same way.
When we discuss the tide or current of the heart, we only can take examples from the physical world because it is our only reality. The world living in heart is the same as the physical world.
The Korean language has an explanation about the current world of heart or living based on the heart. The word 'woon' translate to mean 'carrier'. This represents 'army' and 'cart'. This is the same as a safely covered vehicle and means to bring safely into a certain place. A fast car will carry you to a certain poin safely without an accident. That's fate. That is luck.
How does luck work?
Luck or fate always follows the current of the heart. If there is heavenly luck, that means the current of the heart is being followed, thus you are covered in luck.
People in the West, who are more materialistic, do not understand why Orientals emphasize aspects such as filial piety, patriotism and sainthood. Orientals themselves did not understand why they were doing those things. They simply thought it was the right direction. They were just following the heartistic current. So they were in the heavenly fate, exalting benevolence, beauty and love.
Beauty, in the Chinese character, is composed of "big sheep." The big sheep is the one who sacrifices himself greatly on behalf of others. Also, in the character meaning righteous, the sheep occupies the top position. Why the sheep? The sheep signifies sacrifice. Thus he is righteous.
The Chinese characters for the word 'beauty' is composed of 'big sheep'.
The Bible unceasingly symbolizes Jesus as the lamb carrying the burdens of the world. This sheep was pierced and sacrificed with the sword.
The Chinese character for 'heaven' shows two men, not one man. The principle states that two centering on love that come together is the essence of the ideal of creation.
Without love, they cannot make oneness.
We must accept the logic and reason behind the flow of heavenly fate: it travels the heartistic current, the heartistic tide.
We preserve heavenly fate through sacrifice. When we do service for others, we stay in the realm of heavenly fate. The general direction of heavenly fate, therefore, is always somewhere beyond the individual's interest.
HEavenly fate moves toward the greater whole. It follows always in a straight line, a straight direction. God connects it back to the individual. This straight line of heart is the safe route for the individual to travel and reach God. Heavenly fate begins from God and moves on the line to bigger and bigger levels until reaching the whole universe. Love is always a straight line.
The only straight line is the line of love.
Why is Love a Straight Line?
The act of love between grandparents, parents and a young couple just beginning are exactly the same. It is the same for white and black people. Eternally it will be the same. The way they prepare food east and west are different, but the way they love is the same.
For white and black it is the same. The animal kingdom, too, is the same. Can we change the quality of love or improve it? Love is the one thing that cannot and does not need to be improved. The way of love is true within the plant and animal kingdom. Man is no exception.
The family needs the son or daughter of filial piety. The nation needs the patriot. The world needs the saint. The cosmic world needs the holy son. These four levels are connected by love: son and daughter of filial piety, patriot, saint, and holy son. These levels have love in common.
These levels always operate on the path of love and connect like a crystal. This can be called crystallized love. Why? This way, we inherit the universal blessing. When we get that blessing, we are liberated; we are really free. In freedom, we become the subject, the center.
Everything moves at our will.
Have you noticed that we all want to be the center of all things. This is a natural desire. What most people do not recognize is that you do not become the center through knowledge or power.
The contents of that center or any other center is the same. They may be on different levels, but they contain the same contents. If you take this center anywhere, it will be welcomed. The underlying concept is that of 'sacrificial contribution", sacrificing oneself. Heart.
In the realm of the realm of heart is where it is possible for the spiritual world to come to the physical plane. Then they can unite together. This unity can only come in the heartistic realm. In other words, this unity of spiritual world and physical world comes only through love.
This relationship between the vertical and horizontal is absolutely ninety degrees wherever it travels. Heavenly fate always follows. Where their is a true, perfect joining of these two world, love fills the space like air fill space.

In a man's face, if the angle between the line of the eyes and the line of the nose is perfectly ninety degrees, this person is an honest person.
This line is very important. The navel should be on this line and line up right down the center of the breast and the reproductive organ, too, straight down. If there is a straight line, if there is a straight line, that person will rise up in the world.
When you train your eyes to see these things, you can interpret the person's future. The Messiah is at the top of that area.
Those with very small eyes can see things at a distance. Big eyes see thing close up. This is the same principle for the camera lens. People from the West come from pirate ancestors who are always moving and pioneering. So, the westerners' eyes resemble the ocean and Orientals eyes the earth. They have big eyes and see things near them very accurately.
Which is the subject - the earth or ocean? Is ocean subject? In all of history, no one would claim ocean is subject. Earth is subject. If the ocean is subject then all of civilization would be made of boats and built on the ocean. Human civilization started at the river, then went to the island, then peninsula and continent. The Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Pacific, in this way civilization developed.
So, western civilization should embrace everything that comes to the Pacific ocean and reaches the other side of the Pacific Ocean. Now, we are entering the ocean culture that is reaching to that new island in the Asian civilization era. The western civilization had a vague idea of the future of the ocean trend, but were not certain how to bring this about and hesitated. The Messiah builds a bridge and teaches about the coming ocean era. He gives them confidence and reassurance to help western civilization. Men from the west want to go to Asia and get an Asian wife. This is how a man of conscience feels.
Why is this so? It is where the heavenly fate is going. The ocean causes erosion to the shore, scraping more and more land, but the land doesn't mind. As more is scraped, the ocean become shallower and islands rise.
Where there is more erosion at beaches and are more severe, the earth does not protest this natural phenom. It allows this scraping which goes on for tens of thousands of years never resting. The earth has a tremendous endurance. Water, on the other hand, does not have endurance.

The Country to Lead the Future
If American cars were sold all over the world, then American cars would have an advantage. But being the leader in only the car industry will not mean that America will lead the world. When other countries buy American products, America must follow. This means that America is being led.
Higher Direction
Young people of the world chose to study in the country with the best university. They search for the country with the best philosophy of economics and universities whose economic theory are geared for the sake of the world. Those countries are the most popular.
The world is one, therefore, study should be for the sake of the world, and not for the sake of the individual or the country alone.
One thing is inevitable: the world is bound to be one.
There is no way to stop this destiny.
In education, the necessary basics, such as religious thought, must go beyond the national boundary. And all fields of thought must go beyond the boundary of the nation. Therefore we need thought, religious teachings and basic theory which encompass the whole world, which establish a foundation commonly accepted by all nations.
If world peace is inevitable, which direction will the world go?
It is going where the level of thought is higher than where it is now. Religion also moves toward this direction. We see throughout history that knowledge reaches higher levels. Today, religions have established certain knowledge, but a higher religious power comes and will lift that up and the whole world will follow in that direction.
When higher thought and religion combine together working effectively, then the whole world has nowhere to go but follow that direction.
Where is the country where such higher thinking and a higher-level religion that works together exist? That country was once America blessed by God in 200 short years, but it has abandoned its glorious Christian spirit.
Wherever this group and religion goes, eventually the whole world will follow. This will determine the future of the world and how the world will develop in the new millennium.
The Tide of Heart
Power resides with the one who can influence the mind of the people, and especially who can influence families to transcend national boundaries.
The government does not have the thought that is powerful enough to move families from one place to another as families in a higher-level religion can. Even a country that has thought along with other countries will have to follow that. The group that has such thought and action naturally has power.
The world is about to change, and we have to prepare ourselves to go in that direction of change.
The leader of this group has been placing a net and knows where the current of history is going. Just wait and everything has to eventually pass to this point.
When we put economic matters, thought matters and family matters together, they form a specific activity. We can call it a Happy Mind delivery system. It is here where we can deliver anything within thirty minutes.
All things will be done through a simple system. Factories would not create pollution in the future because they will be spread thinly throughout the world and not concentrated in one area. Large urban cities will dissipate. There is no reason for millions of people clustering together creating confusion.
Formerly, there was a reason to have big cities, because the highest standard of cultural life was there and outside the city there was nothing.
This lifestyle is changing because of the media. It is no longer necessary to be present to witness cultural events outside the city. On the countryside, it is easier to produce agricultural goods, have more time to think, study and analyze.
Through watching television, you can sit and participate in the cultural life just as well. We can attend college and school through the internet. We can do the equivalent forty-year career of research online.
From one factory to another the products will be uniform and have a common standard. For example, there is only one best computer system. Nobody will use a different system; everyone will have a common system.
What about language? It will be the biggest problem.
The world's language is bound to be unified.
Once we overcome the barriers of language and learn one common language, then racial and national differences will disappear. You will be able to live in any country at any time without worry about visas and time limits.
Black, white and Asian will be mixed equally, but white people may want to stick together and live among themselves.
White people don't have much to be proud of in their history. Compared to the total population of humankind, they are really the minority. This separation in an united world would not last long and they will say, "Please, let us in so we can develop with you." This is what is in humanity's future.
If someone proclaims that the visa system needs to last forever and ever raise your hand.
It is an unfair system created by Americans. For this reason people of the world say, "Yankee, go home". Americans still place a tremendous importance on visas.
What language will the world choose as a common language?
So, what would this common language be that the world chooses?
It will be the language of the country which has the higher, deeper thought and higher and deeper religious theory and practice. This country will become the center of the world and everyone will want to use that language.
It wouldn't take force to make people speak this language. They will want to speak it and it will develop naturally. People will choose it.
Through participating in an international marriage, many countries will be connected into one race, one tribe within three generations of these families representing several nationalities. This means that many countries are symbolically combined in one place.
What language will they use? It will not be English.

Hope of the Young
Have you ever asked a young person what they want to be when they grow up? They have many dreams of greatness and happiness in the hopes for their future.
There is no youth that does not have hope.
Mostly, when you ask what people hope for the future, they will have the ambition to succeed in the subject to which they attend college. Then someone may challenge and ask, "Is that your real objective in life?"
In search of an answer, not many people are confident in their dreams.
When one is able to achieve their ambitions, then they must start over after realizing that this is not his true ambition. Yet, not many people in life can feel that they have achieved their dreams and are truly happy and content.
Those who are able to achieve in a certain area, they will then see they want to go beyond that goal. It is natural that we do not want to end in the reality we live, but we constantly want to go beyond that reality no matter how much we achieve.
Then what really is youth's hope or ambition?
It is a fact that no matter how hard we try, at least in the past, we have never been able to say, or heard anybody say, after reaching the goal of his own ambition, "I am happy, for I have accomplished it". No matter how big a person becomes in the world, he still has to achieve something more, look for something farther. Always striving to be bigger.
The true ambition of every young person is to achieve his personal dreams. No matter how accomplished one becomes, if it does not touch them in a soulful way, he will be unhappy. The gravest goal that we must consider is how do we maintain our own sense of happiness once we have established our goal.
Any youth you speak to still has the ambition to go beyond his own national boundary.
Even though this young person is on this level of understanding, there is no true ideal. The ideal begins from a certain central point within ourselves. There, the basic hope and ambition of the youth then can go toward the world. When we meet opposition, we become indignant toward others in an effort to protect ourselves and this ambition.
In other words, man is unconsciously working on the basis of perfecting himself. When someone attacks him, he will defend himself. Each person will suddenly realize he would like to be perfect.
A woman's sense of accomplishments centered on herself will be different from a man's sense of accomplishments. Also, from the viewpoint of different countries, there are different ideas and attitudes.
What is true perfection, and what is the center of our hope?
If a person found his center well established, then he would be absolutely happy in the past, present and the future. Such a person would be accepted consistently throughout history. Everyone would want to devote himself to this person.
They would think they were the most dependable and beautiful person in the world.
How does one become such a person? When we think of the ideal youth, it would be the same to us and everybody and consistent with this person.
The ideal youth represents the world, including every country, and the one who can represent the past, present, and future.
If such a youth exists on the earth, he would be considered a treasure of the world. Treasure is regarded to have an eternal quality. He would reflect the total. All youth should want to have such an image; there should not be many exceptions.
When we think of the ideal youth, we must think about man that is both external and internal. We also see the man striving to do the ideal, and the man as a physical being.
Then what is the ideal?
The ideal subject represent everybody; it excludes nobody; it represents every individual past, present and future. The ideal person will deploy himself toward the world eternally, not momentarily.
The "Ideal," in Chinese characters, is comprised of a left side ("king") and a right side ("village"); in other words, king's village. -- One side symbolizes the whole, and the other side represents the center. When the whole focuses on one center, then that is ideal. A single man will never achieve that; only with the entirety surrounding the original center will the ideal exist.
It may be hard for Westerners to understand the significance of these characters, but each has a deeper meaning and represents one thought. When people first started using these characters, they unknowingly included the concept of happiness and the ideal.
And on this basis alone, on this combination of outer environment and developing our own environment for this one purpose, the ideal can come to exist.
Thus, the ideal is not achieved by one person. There needs to be a perfect object from which the subject has give and take with, then, the ideal exists. The ideal does not come about from one man, but through a reciprocal relationship. Just the same, the ideal youth can never be ideal in himself. He will have the knowledge from both sides so he can represent everything.
Every individual is different from another. Some people have special points in outer things, and some in inner things. Some people are very weak, and some are very strong. Some people are noble, and some are lowly. The ideal person will be someone who can embrace both ends and stand at the center.
The ideal youth will encompass everything and stand strong in the center. He will not only be concerned with his own life, but he will be concerned for his own village, family or country. Also, he will not only live for the present reality, but be interested in the past, future and the world.
When a person tries to maintain a relationship with God, then he will become the ideal youth. We may envision that God is a being that is the center of the whole. Then this means that God represents the past, present and future.
From the four directions, we have to center on God. Thus, God is the center of the whole universe.

God's Ideal True Family
The father represents heaven and the wife represents earth. The children represent all of humankind.
The family represents the sovereign of the nation with the father like the present of the family;that means he must take responsibility for upholding all of the laws and orderliness of the family. In this respect, he is in the position of the judge that distinguishes what is right or wrong in the family. The mother is the lawyer and the law itself is the prosecutor.
Law was created because of selfishness and is important to uphold the country. After the fall, if humanity unceasingly was disobedient without those who upheld God's law like Moses who obtained the 10 commandments, society would cease to exist. Likewise, within each family, there should be certain standard and laws which are upheld and enforced by the father. That is one of the father's responsibilities.
"There is a great distance today between this original standard and the reality of today's families. Young people in many families deny that they need the guidance of their parents. What those children are actually saying is, "I don't care about the past or the future; I only care about now." That is animalistic."
Grandparents represent the past, the parents represent the present and children represent the future. Therefore these three time periods must unite into one for the betterment of all of mankind.
Throughout the ages, there have been revolutions in areas of economics and politics, but there can never be a revolution of heart within the heart of a family. Love is eternal and unchanging and thus is beyond revolution. Children grow up in love of their parents, but leave the home for the sake of a higher love or ideal. When parents love their children, the children must eventually return to their parents.
Before you stand as a completed individual of ideal love, you must experience three generations of love: grandparents, parents and the love of brothers and sisters. These are the three purposes of love.
To qualify as an ideal family, the husband and wife should live for the sake of the past, and future. If they live just for the present they only have a horizontal connection and no vertical connection. Here is a simple question, do you need your mother and father-in-law no matter how old and crippled they become/. Do your children respect and love their grandparents who represent the past?
The most important human connection is the vertical rather than the horizontal because it is the basis of the universe. Love comes to mankind from the vertical, position, from above. Thus the first direction of love is vertical and then the horizontal direction comes into existence.
This explains why we value our grandparents. Everyone has heard tales of their grandparents certain experience or two and learned from the elderly about lives that the grandchildren would not know about without their grandparents.Whom should a person love first-his spouse or his grandparents? He should love those in the vertical direction. Two people love each other horizontally, but they must always reconnect to that vertical relationship. Thus their love can flow downward to their children and create one complete cycle. The husband and wife should love each other with all their heart; then together they love their parents and their children.
We see couples divorcing more and more each day and children divorcing their parents, but who has heard of parents divorcing their children?
Why is that?
The love of parent and child is more fundamental than the love of a spouse. The love between parent and child is along the vertical line which connects each person to God. The first question that arises when a couple thinks about divorce is who will have custody of the children.
Western civilization must take heed of this truth that the ideal couple loves each other and their children, but they must also have love for their very own parents as much no matter how old they become.
This fulfills the original ideal God planned for creation. The nation is basically a collection of families in which all the generations are included. Each extended family symbolizes one small country.
Unless a nation establishes their families with the proper center, that civilization will perish. Look at the Roman empire and many nations, they all began to crumble with the breakdown of the family unit. Wars did not destroy that civilization, immoral acts and self-centeredness instead of God-centered did. Because the law of the universe will not allow an unlawful citizen without subject to change to exist for very long.
This is why we say the family is the textbook of love. It is how a peoples learn about the ideal family and ideal nation. Once this is accomplished in one country, that country becomes the textbook for the ideal world. Then the ideal world becomes the textbook for the ideal universe, thus we have four textbooks with the family as the basic one. In order to have a world of peace, each family member should love one another and completely devote themselves for the sake of their children and their own parents.
You must make your family one which is loved and approved by all those around you-your parents must approve and your children must appreciate it. That is when the man actually becomes the "president" of his family, which is a micro-country.
How can a president run a country full of lawbreakers? God meant for the world to be governed not by direct civil laws, but by love. One philosopher said that one who enforces strict laws on their people when they are about to do something evil, otherwise, love is enough.
"Thus the directions of up and down, left and right and front and rear must remain connected harmoniously to the couple."
Then as much as you appreciate your own family, you should respect other families, so in this way, the nation of families interconnect to create one peaceful nation.
How can a peaceful nation begin?
To begin to love your nation and world, you must first love the people in your immediate surroundings, love your distant relatives, and then branch out your heart of love further and further until you can love each person within the nation.
To beginning this task, you must focus on learning to love all of your relatives. Once you master loving all the different personalities of you relatives, you can then travel to any nation, any part of the world and love anyone there.
This is the basic qualification of any president of any nation. It is said that a woman who has 12 children learning to love the 12 different personalities that represent all of humankind, she can become perfect.
This principle will stretch to govern the whole world and a king that rules over the world can be possible if he has such a level of love. Then this standard will spread throughout spirit world and all of the cosmos.
This standard sounds simple, but how can you find hope in a world of peace that connects to thousands of generations from thousands years ago if we can not find the unity with our own parents or grandparents.
This path is very difficult on just the individual level within the family. Then we have to expand to the level of the world and be able to love nations and races of people. After this, we must accomplish on the level of the universe, love beyond time-past, present and future within your realm.
This principle will apply in the future.
All of these levels begin with one individual who obtains this knowledge by observing the love within their family, how their parents, siblings and grandparents interact. Is this possible to have a world of peace beginning with one individual in a family? The ideal was to have Adam and Eve populate the entire universe centered in oneness with God.
Then through the passage of time, they would populate the earth through their good descendants and eventually all of spirit world would fill up with their ancestors. Adam's and Eve's family and country would be God's direct family and country sharing in complete oneness of blood lineage without a trace of sin.
Earth was supposed to be the place where Adam's descendants would have ruled according to Adam's tradition. Such a world would have been Heaven on Earth. Do you understand the reality of Heaven on Earth now?
Every human has an innumerable amount of ancestors and when we pass to spirit world, we are bound to rest where our ancestors are. When they enter the spirit world, their ancestors will judge them using their own standard. How does one surpass the level of judgement from their own ancestors?
That qualification comes through the standard from within your own family. The Messiah returns in the last days to bring about the standard of a true family, society, nation and world and guides us toward Heaven on Earth.

Second Chance at First Love
Some of you may be thinking, "God, why did you give me such a person as my fiancée? Couldn't you have picked someone better for me?" If you think your fiancée is difficult for you to love, you will become the king or queen of love if you learn to love such a person.
This is literally true. Do you think God feels you should have a different fiancée and will change you around? No. Each of you has an endless realm of love to connect with if you make a success out of your relationship. Certainly God wants to fill you with everything you need. Every bridegroom should think that his bride is more precious than royalty and cherish her as his queen, and vice versa. For thousands of years the potential of the Blessing has been coming toward you; how terrible it would be if you, knowingly or unknowingly, stopped it. Not only your ancestors but also all the things of creation will accuse you if you prevent their blessings from materializing.
Those of you who are engaged may answer that you are going toward your fiancée. But is your fiancée going forward or backward? Is he or she moving with confidence? Is he or she about to go up, or down? You may say that you never thought about the question and frankly don't care. You may suppose that when you are with your fiancée you will be satisfied. But what good does it do for two uncertain people to meet? If one confused person joins another, what will result? They will become even more puzzled.
Two confused people will collide with one another. Your eyes will clash, your ears, mouths and minds will clash. You might reason that since everyone else lives that way, you should, too. Perhaps you think that you have no other choice. But what about your family? Once you are living together, children will be born to you -- that's virtually automatic! But will your baby be able to see straight, hear straight, think straight if there are two people such as this in a marriage? Perhaps your baby's eyes will be crossed or only able to look in a certain direction. If you truly realize the position you are standing in, you feel some awe or dread. Once you are aware of it, you cannot just casually enjoy life after the marriage blessing.
You say yes, but not very convincingly. Something is holding you back. But when you analyze it further, it really is wonderful. Why? Because this is the only way the universe can have hope. This is the proper way for you to go. It is not just these few years that matter, but hundreds of thousands of generations to come will learn solid lessons from the patterns we establish right now. So think about how wonderful this is. You are laughing now and proclaiming with confidence how wonderful it is; but when you are not so sure, it is like clouds being drawn across a clear blue sky. One should be sure.
Perhaps you say you wish you could wait for five more years, so you could do something more meaningful for the world and for history. Would you choose to wait ten years rather than five? When you think how wonderful it is, are you ready to wait that long? Some of you laugh, but I would like to find out why you laugh. Is it because you think it is wonderful or for some other reason?
The couples do not do this to suffer, but through pain and frustration of sacrifice through marriage, there is hope to see a new America reborn. A new standard of marriage in America can be seen with couples like this. Waiting five years is not easy, but we have to conquer it. After observing American couples, for some odd reason, one sees a large amount of people think they have the freedom and right to get divorced. But I know that the universe does not work that way. Once you choose love, it should last forever and ever. That is the value of love. All human value rests on that.
First Love is Unforgettable
Actually, love develops better when you do things without people being aware. Sometimes you see a man and woman embracing and kissing in the street and wonder what kind of special privilege from the court of the universe they think they have. During their engagements, Reverend Moon's members are told not to kiss or even hold hands, because it could lead to something more. But if you are truly grounded in Principle and ethics, it is hypothetically possible for you to kiss without it being bad, but until the proper time, don't do it.
When you men look at your fiancée, do you naturally desire to touch her face or her body? The body is designed to be touched. Certainly a person's face is important, but the most important thing for a woman is that her spouse has a man's body and vice-versa.
The innocent, pure baby loves his mother regardless of how she looks. Even if his mother is a hunchback with only one eye, the baby wants to be with his mommy. In the same way, men and women should love each other unconditionally; don't try to evaluate each other.
The same way you loved your parents as a child -- purely and uncritically -- you should love your spouse. Are you confident you can do it?
When you give your first love it is always unconditional. Men and women are designed to experience the beauty and purity of first love and live together forever in that love. With that first love, there is no such thing as a racial or cultural barrier. Teenagers have minds of openness and sensitivity to all the joys, tragedies and beauties of life. They normally feel everything so deeply. Even when they see autumn leaves falling, they feel touched by that.
Unfortunately here in America there are not many who have preserved their first love. Most of you already have some kind of past, so what can we do? Realizing the preciousness of that first love and knowing that you have lost it for whatever reason, you should be more humble, repentant, and fervent than before. In order to compensate, be more sacrificial in loving your spouse, ready to accept him or her unconditionally. When you are humble and open to each other, you can compensate for the loss of your first love.
If your conscience was really alive, you could not say to God, "I don't have a good fiancée; he is not the kind I wanted." Your original mind should be saying, "Father, because I am so impure, I don't really deserve any person as my spouse. But since I have received this spouse as a gift from You, I will serve him/her for the rest of my life. I want to deserve this great blessing with all my heart and soul."
Those who do not have the privilege of giving your first to your spouse must be repentful and at the same time most appreciative to God and willing to compensate. In this way you can restore your love and reach the same degree of Heaven.
Reverend Moon continues to tell how he brings two couples together who can achieve a greater love once they unite centered upon God:
"I will give you my matching secret: I do not match you primarily as husband and wife but I see through you to your beautiful children of the future. Is that against the Principle or according to Principle? No matter what, the Principle persists here in America.
"To make a long story short, let's say your fiancée turned out to be a large, broad woman, and you immediately thought of her as undesirable. But suppose she (or he) has an incredibly warm and wide heart of pure love. Then what would you say?
"On the other hand, many women with beautiful faces possess only a flat, shallow love. Through my research I have learned that the love of an ugly woman is very round and possesses great depth and nobility. It's easy to stand on flat love, while spherical love is harder to balance on, but which kind of love would you prefer in your mate?
"Certainly, spherical love is better. So if you think your fiancée is more attractive than you, you are most likely getting flat love. But if he or she is uglier than you, you are most likely getting spherical love. This rule of thumb applies to both men and women. When you learn to love a fiancée whom you previously disliked intensely, you will give birth to the greatest of children.
"No matter how ugly your fiancée may be, still he or she is the supreme form of creation and therefore more special than anything else in nature. He or she is the crowning glory of God's masterpiece of creation. You may call upon the things of creation to sing a song for you and they would be unable to comply, but your fiancée should. So unless you are able to love nature, you cannot love other people."
What is the secret of being able to match hundreds of couples from around the world? Simply having a loving heart. Love is everything; love has knowledge and power; love can penetrate and understand everything; love endows one with a vision of the future.
Reverend Moon talks to couples who he matched then married them. They are ungrateful about their spouse even though they had previous relationships outside of God's realm:
"Because I can match with such a heart I am the world's greatest matchmaker. Aren't you glad of that? I have two different reputations. Some people say that I am an excellent matchmaker and others call me a bad one. Those who call me a bad matchmaker simply don't know the facts. After you have lived together for three years, you will discover why I matched you and your spouse, and you will come back and report to me!
"Some of you have already concluded that you cannot accept your match, even though you have never lived together or even gotten to know each other. You have even asked me for new matches, but I have said that is ridiculous, since you don't even know each other. Sometimes I have counseled engaged couples who have come to see me at East Garden. "Did you know that your fiancée had this or that characteristic?" I ask them. Both have been completely surprised, because they haven't gotten to know each other at all. They knew far less about each other than I knew about them.
"In some cases I matched a very sensitive woman to a dull, insensitive man. If she can love that man, her love lungs will really develop. When a sensitive woman can make a dense man become sensitive, she becomes a master genius! Actually, the all-knowing God created only 95 percent of our being, and He asks
"I am an expert on human beings, in a way, because I have dealt with so many different people throughout my life. Many people have betrayed me, and many have been completely loyal; some have exploited me. All kinds of people have come and gone, and I have studied and researched every one of them. My mind is very analytical, and I never let any experience pass by without observing it closely and learning from it. I have considered millions of situations and human variables. So I have millions of mental "index cards" that I can pull out and refer to when I match people. I can see that someone with one kind of nature will need a spouse with a particular characteristic. That is how I match couples."
Through this type of marriage, once a couple stretches their love muscles to become one after three years of struggle, they can overcome their past mistakes in relationships and have a love that goes beyond any relationship they ever had, even their first love.
Marriage is a journey that men and women begin together. Where will it end? Can you imagine living for 10,000 years? Compared to eternity, that is just the beginning. Some people realize that. Others think, "Boy, one month is eternity! I can't even stand to look at my wife."
Marriage is like exploring a gold mine. In one month or one year you can barely find one seam of gold. There may be all kinds of foreign elements in it, so unless you dig deeper down, you won't know what's there. That is the adventure of married life.
There are two different kinds of appearance. A Broadway stage can look like a golden palace, but there is nothing behind the facade. On the other hand, a simple mountain may look plain, but when you dig into it you discover limitless resources inside. I always ask whether genuineness can be more frequently found in an attractive person or a homely one. You greedy guys always think you can be genuine and handsome too! Actually, there are always exceptions, so you can be the exception! But generally the unchanging qualities are more often found in the homelier-looking people.
We see women wearing elaborate cosmetics, false eyelashes, high heels and beautiful dresses. They may change their costume three times a day in order to parade down Fifth Avenue. Is that the ideal for a woman? What about a man with flowing hair and mustache, wearing a fancy breast pocket handkerchief going into a bar to find girls? Is that ideal?
Then consider a man who smells bad, even from a distance, and who only has two teeth; perhaps he is almost blind, too. Could someone like that be genuine 24 karat gold? You have to focus your concept of an ideal man and woman.
We must understand that your husband or wife is not your personal property. You come out of the fallen world, yet your mate comes as a gift from heaven, through God. You must be able to read the label that comes on your spouse. That label tells you where the item comes from. "Made in Heaven." That gift is given to you in order that you might consummate true love. It is impossible for love to be consummated by one person alone.
This is the Principle. Husbands and wives, look at each other as representatives of God and the Messiah. Your duty is to love one another, and by doing so you are loving the Messiah and your Heavenly Father. Your journey is to eternity, and the achievement of true love is our goal.
Husband and wife should look at this world like they were looking at the Garden of Eden, in which there is only one man and one woman. What if Adam had happened to be crippled? Would Eve have complained to God, "Oh, no, I want another man!"? Eve didn't have that kind of choice. If Adam had been running around and had fallen down on a bush, he might have become blinded in on eye. Would Eve have said, "God, I don't want a one-eyed husband!"? Consider yourselves as Adam and Eve for whom there only one possible mate; it is your destiny.
You men should look at your wives and think, "She is the only woman in the entire universe; she is the only Eve." You may have been thinking about how ugly your husband or wife was, but when you start to look at your spouse from the proper angle you will see universal beauty in him or her. You should look at each other with universal eyeglasses and then your husband will look like a heavenly movie star. With universal eyeglasses, nothing looks ugly in God's creation.
