Love Your Spouse Centered on God

No matter how much we practice religion while living for the sake of others, we notice that there is such a resistance to the good activities that we do.

Haven't you noticed this conflict within ourselves?

This is because each one of us as an individual has a mind and body that is in mutual conflict.  Thus, we should unite our good mind as the center where God can come and dwell.

When a man and woman become a couple, they have many hopes and dreams for their future.

What couple comes together desires divorce, conflict and separation when they finally find each other?

Even if it is not their hope, the more we look into the society of relationships, we see such division and conflict.  There seems to be no solution to the problems between man and woman relationships.

Some people have a clear-cut answer and that is to never marry.

But could this be the original ideal God had planned when He beheld the first two beings on earth?

God made it clear that He wanted humanity to be matured in love and then prosper and multiply.  Since we are not living in the original way God intended the purity of a man and woman uniting has been turned around in the opposite direction.

Instead of two people who matured into perfect individuals uniting centered on God, the world is filled with billions of fallen individuals who do not fully mature in love or center their lives or marriages on God, therefore, conflict is sure to rise.

So what was God's original purpose for creating a union of man and woman?

A perfect man and perfect woman were to marry centered on God's will thus fulfilling God's whole purpose for creating the world.  Thus the three would enter a spherical relationship where God could govern all of creation through His perfect objects man.

When such a man and woman receive the marriage blessing directly from God sharing their perfect love and delighting in joy, in God's eye this is like a flower that has blossomed on earth for the first time.

All the forms of harmony that unfold through their love are like a fragrance to God.  Therefore, God will come before them because He wants to live amid such beautiful flowers and fragrances.

Even God is Enraptured in the Love of a True Couple

God can love only in the place of a true couple's love.  This is where all things in the universe harmonize.  This is the teaching of the Divine Principle and it explains such ideas and the path to follow.

What sound and melody do you think God would like to hear more than anything in creation?  It is the sound of laughter coming from an eternal married couple that likes each other and rejoices with one another.

When such a couple understands and embraces the world and lives a life with a heart that can love the entire universe, then this laughter becomes natural.

This sight is of such a loving man and woman before God is like a flower to Him.  This is not a simple idea, this is speaking about the original world which God intended for His children to live.

When you look at a mountain, a husband and wife ask the mountain for whom it comes into being.  Also, for whom does the universe come into being?

They would answer saying that they come  for me and at the same time for you.

This is the same for what a married couple is like.  The husband and wife unite through fulfilling the purpose of the universe and valuing the central purpose.

When the husband and wife speak to one another it should be centered on heart, personal character and love.  Even if a lady is a country bumpkin, what will her status be if she marries a government official or minister?

They go the same way.

Although that country lady may only have an elementary school diploma, everyone will bow their heads to her because she is the minister's wife.  This is the way for a husband and wife to go together.

Would their love be separate for her and him?  For them, love is both your love and my love at the same time.  It is your love and my love.

True love is that with which you love with your entire bodies as one, and with your whole hearts and blood vessels as one. 

Who could such people be that can love like this?

It is the love of a husband and wife.  If there was no such thing as husband and wife in the world, would life have any appeal?

When you watch the conversations between a loving couple, their words are more beautiful than any poem or painting in the world.

Moreover, how beautiful and splendid are the words, "Just between two people in love" and "Just by ourselves," and "Just the two of us"!  These are all good phrases, but what do you think is the best among these three spoken?

If I call my partner and say, "Hello!", she will answer in a corresponding manner, saying "Hi!" and if I call her saying, "Hey," she will answer, "What?" and if the husband uses cute phrases such as, "Hello, Dear!". But if he speaks to her bluntly she will answer in like manner, "What's the matter?" This is just like the mountain echo, everything is reciprocal.

Everything is reciprocal when people are intoxicated with love.

For instance, when a man laughs, he opens his eyes even bigger and when a woman laughs, she gently closes her eyes.  If the husband's eyes get bigger and bigger and the wife's eyes get smaller and smaller we can say that they are a happy couple intoxicated with love.

The More a Husband and Wife See Each Other, the More They Want to See Each Other

When does a man and woman feel happy?

They feel happy when they become partners and share love.  If a man were to relate to a woman by swinging his fist with physical force, this couple would never be able to attain any happiness.

When the man embraces and protects the woman with his strength and loves her, she will be able to feel true happiness.  The love between a man and woman does not work just with strength or just within the mind.

The woman will be able to experience a real feeling of happiness when the man affirms his loving heart with his strength.  Then when she returns love to him with her body and mind they will be a truly happy husband and wife.

A person always needs stimulation. Happiness does not come without stimulation. 

Stimulation is necessary in a relationship.

Just as eating meals everyday is better when it is fresh only when you are hungry each time you eat, the same with the love between a husband and wife should always be new and fresh.

The more the wife and husband see each other, the more they should desire to see each other and long to be together all day.  Love has value when two people long for each other.

In asking for love, if you have a mouth, you should open it, and if you have eyes, you should open them. Only then, will the giver of love be happy.

If you just remain silenced and dumb, love would run away on its way to you. You should know this.  How would you feel if your lover was not serious and behaved half-heartedly toward you in their affection?

Would you rather be together or separated from your beloved?

The closer you are to each other the better everything is.  Why is this so?  It is because everything works together.

What is the thing you like the most?  Is it food?

If you see some food when you are hungry, of course you will eat it with more joy than if you were already full.  But this pleasure is only temporary.

If someone gives you more food, even after you have become full you would not like to eat it so much.
But this is not the case with the one you love.

Is there anyone who says of his lover, "I want to forget her?"  Even if you have seen her over and over again, you still want to see her yet again and again.  Isn't this so?

Even if you have just seen her, you want to see her again, and even after seeing her again.  This way, you first stand one in front of the other, and alternate like a wheel of a cart.  This is the place where unification begins.

A wife that knows love sometimes gets the impulse to bury her head in her husband's chest to enjoy an afternoon nap as he watches television.

This is because she is drunk with happiness.  Before marriage, the man appeared ugly and strange, but after the marriage, she misses him and has to see him many times in a day.  This is how the hearts change.

Therefore, sometimes she will ask him to come home during the lunch break for a quick visit.  This is the same for the man who has come to know love.

Whenever he has a chance, he would like to sleep using his wife's knees as a pillow.  He will run home whenever he has a free moment, regardless of whether it is lunchtime or for a short coffee break.

If he wants certain things done, he will not hesitate to do things for her, even if he didn't like doing them before marriage.  He'll do things that he probably complained and said, "This is a woman's job.  A mighty man shouldn't do it."

These changes come about in men and women because of love.

When God created humans and blessed them, He did so in such a way that the husband and wife would be happy and experience joy.

A husband and wife that that have opened and entered such a gate of blessings will be lost in whispers to each other.

This kind of couple only says sweet things to each other.

For instance, "I have been waiting like this in order to meet you.  My whole life will reveal its value like a blossoming flower through you.  I was born to love you, and I have been waiting for this day."

There is nothing in existence that is as sweet as secret words of love.  The secret words whispered by a husband and wife, even when together in bed, will be a refreshment to dissolve all the fatigue and hatred of the world.

How Conjugal Love Develops

A man and woman who meet through the mediation of God would express their love through the process of the development of love.  The first is the lips, the second is the breasts, and the third is the sexual organ.

It is through the lips that a woman when she first meets a man feels shy and will hide before starting to love him.

A woman covers her lips with her hand because of this.  It is because of love starts with kissing.
When love matures, sons and daughters are born as its fruit.

For a woman, her sexual organ is the holy place of love.  So, should she have several keys for many men to explore this place?

She should have only one key to open that gate held only by her husband.  If a husband has two or more keys to a woman's holy place of love, he is Satan.

Also, if a woman's holy place could be opened by any key other than her husband, she is also Satan.

Once the husband holds the key of love to his wife's holy place and enters there, the most precious sons and daughters in the whole world will be born.

The value of sons and daughters is such that they are an encapsulation of love, not exchangeable for anything in the world.

Parents will experience the heart by which God created the first human ancestors through loving their sons and daughters.

This is the reason why parents rejoice when they look at their children, singing, "You are my love, whether, I look at you this way or look at you that way."

No matter what your baby does, who is born through love, you never hate him, but simply love him. This is because he is part of your body, made of your own blood and flesh and your love.

Whether he pees, takes a poop, has a runny nose, he will still be simply cute and lovely to your eyes. It is because love is dissolved into such things.

In a husband and wife relationship, if their love is joined through a strong force, they must be joyful and feel their partner is lovely, no matter what that partner does.

When a wife complains about the way her husband smells or the husband thinks or feels that he hates the way his wife looks, they behave this way because they have not established perfect love between them.

This married couple is only joined together for some superficial purpose or interest.

In your own family life during marriage, in order to feel true joy, you should bring God into the center and have a relationship where you can love each other where you see God rejoice together with you.

A man and woman getting married and making love is not something you should be ashamed of.

The act of the husband and wife consummating their love is something that is most dignified, holy and beautiful.

However, because the first human couple violated God's commandment on the time period for them to enjoy their sexual organs, the history of love has been a sinful one.  This is why shame has become attached to exploring the sexual organs.

You should think that even though there are many men and women in the world, that there is only one for you.  You should devote yourself completely to this one woman, with the thought that she is devoted to you.

This is the Principle.

In the very beginning God didn't make two sets of men and women for them to pick and choose whom to mate, he created only one man and one woman.

Therefore, if God placed Eve with Adam and she didn't like certain qualities about him or thought that God was wrong in His choice, then there would not have been creation of a family or such a thing as the human race.

True happiness can be found in the place where you can laugh, sing and whisper together with your beloved with both of you intoxicated with love.

I would say that the one who is able to listen to the whispers of his beloved is a happy person.  


It is because having such words whispered into your ears can give you a feeling of joy as if you were dreaming.

Are You Moving Forward or Backwards?

All things of creation are preparing to burst forth in springtime. March is the revival month.  This is the season to grow by leaps and bounds; we need to make an extraordinary jump.

Picture an open book on the blackboard.

Do you want to turn over the page?  Once you turn the page, then  you cover the previous one.  If you want to go in the opposite direction, you must turn 180 degrees.


Therefore, to find a new course, you have to turn about-face.

Each of you is in this book.

We each want to get rid of the bad things of the past and become new people.  Now we are turning over a new leaf and beginning a new life.

We use key terms that the rest of the world has not established yet: True Parents and True Children and True Nation and so forth.

We are becoming new people, new family members, new men and women. 

By going this pathway, we have completely turned around toward the greatest ideal.  There have never before been people who have worked for such a grand goal of world salvation.  Most can never dream of where to begin.

We are not just thinking about it, but we have turned around and reach out for it.  When it is Christmas, everyone wants to go to their hometown and visit their family and old friends.  Wouldn't you?


The only reason I don't do it is that it would hold me back instead of helping me advance. I cannot allow myself to retreat; my thinking does not permit it. New horizons and new goals are there waiting. I want to work to fulfill them every moment of the day. Every moment is so precious.


What about you?  Are you able to envision new days ahead?  Do you forsee a new life?

When you go out on your missions, do you go and say, "What is the next goal?  I want to accomplish it."

Or before you go, you go expecting just another tough day?

Sometimes you hate witnessing or fundraising.  Sometimes you feel passive about doing it.  But once you go to a country such as Africa, Asia or Latin America, you will really appreciate such training.

The Messiah's goal is to eliminate immorality in America.

Likewise, he has a desire to also save the Mafia, drug addicts and prostitutes.  Was that not the same level of work Jesus did in his time?

Are you able to do the same work?  Are you determined to accomplish this with your own hands?

Maybe you think that there are millions of Americans who aren't doing much so, you don't see any reason to try.  Maybe you just want to live a comfortable life like everyone else.

By coming to understand Father you have learned about the true value of existence, the meaning of creation, God's will, the true way of life and true love.  But in your heart, how often have you been scorned for doing such work of restoration for the world?

Practically everyone wishes that the church didn't have such fundraising and witnessing activities.

This world is decaying.  Our mission is to go out and save it.

Our responsibility is to apply the brakes and stop the world's decline.

Is what we are doing an easy task?  Of course we know the answer is no.

In the near future, the whole world will know and recognize our good deeds.  Then this is truly a precious way of life.


I heard that the 120-day workshop included some periods of 24-hour lecturing or fundraising. You may protest that it is too much. You all have your opinions about this and that, don't you? You may be right. The United States may not need it, but we have to turn the page.


Do you want to live this way of life or not?

This world is not the limit,  We will be able to go to another world eventually after world peace has been established.  If I was a good, concerned God, I would not want my children spreading their filthy ways to the other parts of the universe.  Once we have world peace, then the universe is the limit.

Once you have reached the spiritual world, your every deed will be judged.  The spirit world is the real, eternal world.

When you get there, will you say, "Man!  I didn't know the truth." But God would reply, "What are you talking about?  Reverend Moon gave my message to the earth.  Through him I told you truth clearly through his sermons."

Then, you would not be able to offer any excuse.

Even though the messages in these posts seem bitter, this kind of instruction is necessary in order to go in the right kind of direction.

We need to make a leap.

Now, we know that unless something drastic happens, this world will crumble under the God-denying communist world.

Once you join the church, did you continue your secular ways making a little change, or did you make a drastic change in your way of life?

After living this way, it is virtually impossible for you to return to your original, selfish way of life.  If you were able to return, you could not live there for even one day.

Then, you would turn around and come back even though it would be difficult at first.

You are a new kind of citizen, not ordinary Americans at all.

Father has dealt with tens of thousands of members.  Many have betrayed him and left.  He would not say a word once they left, but he knew they would eventually return.

When one is doing Gods work, they can face him.  But someone who became a weak solider and turns away cannot face Father and rushes away when they come face-to-face again.

There are many cases where people returned with a bowed head and said, "Father, can you forgive me?  I was weak and was not thinking deeply.  But once I went back to the world, I understood the true value of what you were teaching."

Once you hear the new truth based on the Bible, you came to know God.

You know you have come into contact with a true religion.

Whether you fulfill this mission or not is up to you. Many have failed, but many have succeeded.

You have to take a giant step if you want to be successful.

Those who follow this way of life are transformed people, who are no longer their old selves.

After you learn the Divine Principle, can anybody erase it from your brain?

Even if you went away from this teaching and you won a million dollars living a lavish lifestyle, no one would be able to eradicate this Principle from your mind.

Would becoming a millionaire satisfy you if you know you were not following God's will?  No one can be happy until he lives up to the requirements of the Principle way of life.

Doesn't the truth ring clear in your heart?  It may be raining or murky day where you are, but now you think it is a sun shiny day, correct?


When I came to America  in 1973, I foretold this nation's decline. I declared that the United States must turn around and make a change, but nobody took me seriously. People laughed at me then, but now many of those who mocked me have come to the realization that I was correct. The problems haven't ended-ten years from now you will see people weeping as they realize how right I was.

I have done my duty in the sight of God. 

Father received the mandate from God and has done his best to fulfill that requirement.  He has dealt with the highest possible authorities in this nation, and carried out his mission for the sake of America.

People in the nation have not treated him with courtesy, and have done a lot of wrong to him.  He was able to transcend his personal feelings by acting for the sake of he nation and the world.

Who would be more correct.  The one living in this way for God or the government administration?

History will be the best judge.  There will be a time when people will understand this content and flock to Father's tomb to pay their respects for the great works he has done for this nation.  His tomb will receive homage more than any President that held office.

There is hope for America.

There will be a new generation of people that will crop up and understand the true value of this movement and push forward to bring Heaven on Earth.   People may not be able to understand this today, but in the future, they shall know this content and want to take action.

Wouldn't this be so?

You know this is true in your heart.

The world is moving toward a God-centered culture step-by-step.  You will see that this is true.


I know this like I know the sunlight. I see this truth so clearly. Once we turn America around, the whole world will turn around. Think about it. The United States is a gigantic country, so it's not going to be easy to turn it around. I knew this from the outset.


Where are you?  Are you moving forward or standing still?

Many people think they are moving forward based on certain goals.

There are three people among you: One is indeed moving forward, another is standing still and another is retreating.

Which group do you belong?

You are only fooling yourself if you say you don't know your status.  You do know where you are precisely.

Which person would get the approval rating of 100 percent: the one who just sits around and relaxes, going slowly everyday or the one moving forward constantly without stopping?

Of course, it is the one who is moving and pushing forward beyond any obstacles.  Why don't you give yourself a grade?  Are you 100, 50, 30 or minus 30 percent?  Is anyone below minus 100 percent?

There should be someone who is spying on us from the communist camp to the speech because they believe that this information is very vital.  Maybe the CIA. The communist that participates listening to this speech is really at 100 percent.

To do this work, you have to be at least above the 50 percent mark.  Those of you who think you are above that standard might wonder why you should even march forward since no one else went ahead of you and no one is behind you.

You might think that you should turn around and join everybody else even if they are going in the wrong direction.

Those of you who are above 50 percent are you going forward? Are you 50 and going up or 50 and going down?

After you hear or read these speeches that last for an hour and a half, you are a new person afterward.  You think that you have changed much.  You then feel a great power surging through you that makes you want to shout in agreement.

But when it comes time to do the mission a couple of hours later, you will discover that you have a mountain of work waiting on you.  You will wonder where all your energy went.

Living this way of life living to witness to others the truth of the age, you will find the same old peanut butter and bread when you go in the kitchen.  Once you see that Sunday is not a holiday for you and you do not have time to watch television, you wonder why you are doing this kind of work.

Well, there's one simple solution: quit.

Even the Messiah has the option to quit, as well.  Would anybody volunteer to take his job?  He is confronted with terrible news and difficult situations being told of accidents and problems all of the time.  Then there are campaigns, fundraisers, new developments and problems that need to be solved in every country.

As this movement spreads around the world and members become part of all kinds of intense activities, we suffer casualties the same as people dying in the front line during war time.

Once you are able to face one problem, you wonder how you will handle another.

Father listens so much discouraging, shocking and agonizing things that happen day after day.

Conscientious people, especially young people who are on the side of God, can you say that you are indecisive, mediocre or half-hearted?

If you are at the 50% point, you are 150 points away from the minus 100% point. If 100% on the plus side is the destination, you have only 50 more points to go.

Which direction would you choose if you are wise?  Should you choose the plus or minus?

The most important thing is do not stand still.

You must be constantly moving forward the same as running water.

This world is stagnant corrupt and rotten.  The world's water is too impure for drinking.  But, if you are able to become running water, everybody will come to drink and be nourished.

So, where are you now: standing still or moving forward?  Moving forward or moving backwards?

The Right Way - Just Do It!

Sacrifice and service are the cardinal rules of life even though nobody really likes those words. Fallen people hate a sacrificial and serving way of life, but that is the only way to reach the ultimate goal of human life.

Who can deny that the sacrificial life is the only way of human life and dignity?

If you are a person who only thinks of themselves and lives for your own purpose, do you think that others will like you and want to help you?

To live a sacrificial way, you need somebody to assist you.  If you live the sacrificial way of life and practice serving others, then everybody will want to help you.

Such a way of life will raise you up to the spirit world and beyond, to God.  Everyone wants to assist a sacrificial person and accompany him.

This is a universal truth.


All these years, I have been teaching you how to be sacrificial, dedicated, and serving people. Is that a great teaching?  Why do you answer yes? It is because you are living this way. You know it. Because I have always practiced this way of life, people have followed me. 


It is an incredible fact that Father, who is Korean, came to the United States and all around the world and people are following him at the cost of their lives.

Why would people do this?

He has a tough spirit and could have become a selfish person, but a self-centered person faces constant difficulties and obstacles because of the way they treat others.

The greatest teaching is how to live in harmony with others.

Someone who truly practices a sacrificial way of life is totally free. 

A person who lives for other's sake is able to overcome any obstacle and pass freely in every direction.  He will be welcomed everywhere.  When such a person returns home, his whole town may give him a hero's welcome.

Once he leaves, he will be given a farewell party.  Such a person will freely come and go with honor any time he wishes.

This is the goal for an ideal way of life.

Of course, living in this way is not easy.  Every part of our fallen sinful bodies wants to do everything only for oneself.  Our unselfishness has been ingrained in us.

A person who lives unselfishly is able to dedicate himself to bigger goals.  He is able to sacrifice himself for his family, society, nation, the world,, and God.  This is the most ideal way to live.  This is God's original pattern for life, but most people do not follow this path.  Then it is a truly special gift to be receiving such teachings.

Our way of life is very clear: we learn to sacrifice ourselves for our family, society, nation and world and God.  Is there anything wrong with this life?

These teachings are given so you can be a truly great person.

At first, the Divine Principle, the Completed Testament, was met with opposition, but people are changing their attitude about these teachings and Father.  Why is that?

It is because everyone understands the value of the truth.  They realize that he is living for the highest ideal and is leading mankind toward a new hope and goal prophesied in the Bible.

How do you show that you are living the sacrificial life and serving others?  Well, what is the content of sacrifice and service?  Is it in just giving away money?  You need to give the very best you have.

The sacrificial and serving way of life is a reflection of the heart of God. 

Many religious people and leaders strive to emulate the saints and the spirit of their founders.

Christians follow the lifestyle of Jesus.

When you were growing up, you learn the heart of a parent.  In relation to your nation, you exhibit a patriotic heart.  Toward the world you embody a saintly attitude.

Someone who lives God's way of life and expresses His heart is living the most dramatic lifestyle.

There are no loopholes to be found in this theory.  You should strive with everything possible to reach this goal. Father freely teaches this making your job easier.

You are pursuing a "Ph.D. degree" in God's heart, which is the greatest knowledge one can seek. 

A doctor's degree from Harvard does not even compare to obtaining a signature from the Messiah telling you "job well done" for the sacrificial work you have done for humanity.

Are you doing everything possible to obtain such a signature or are you doing whatever you wish everyday expecting to be praised as a person of faith?

Even if this is difficult, you have to live the right way.

Every person, even the President of Harvard must go this way, also.  It seems we are living such a lowly life, but we have been given the greatest gift in having a chance to live God's original way.  We don't deeply realize in our hearts the Messiah's value.

Father has been treated with less respect than those in the secular world.  You give more honor to government officials, you admire senators, movie stars and think that congressmen are great people.

When Father was very young, he discovered the universal truth of the Principle which he teaches.  He asked God many questions that even scholars and religious could not answer for them.

After he read that a local young student had committed suicide, he asked why was there so much suffering in the world?  Why didn't God help to stop so much evil and where did evil originate?


I have sacrificed everything to pursue this truth and bring it to fulfillment. I never gave up and I gained a triumphant victory.


Why is being self-centered wrong?  We are individuals given free will, so we should live however we want, correct?

When you live just for yourself, you cause division.

That way of life never succeeds.

It isolates you  and holds you back.  On the other hand, when you are able to live a life for others with the heart of God, you encounter no barriers.  You just move on, advancing with total freedom.

You may think that these ideals are crazy, but it is more important that we follow this way of life no matter what.  If you are not able to follow this way, somebody else will.

If "white" people don't follow, "black" people will. If "black" people don't follow, "yellow" people will. If "yellow" people don't follow, somebody will.

One way or another, this way of life will certainly influence the entire world.

Even if this sermon was given a hundred years from now to your descendants, do you think that they will be able to agree with it?

Yes, because it truly describes the best, and most righteous way of life which God had purposed.  This is the eternal way of the Principle.

You will not be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven without being able to go on this broad super-highway.

Now you understand clearly the purpose of living such a way, do you like this way?  It is not a easy way or well accepted in society, but it is the true way.  The universe protects such a person.

After hearing this standard, do you think that America is headed in the right direction?

What does God think about the American way of life or the family?  We must stop the direction in which America is headed and turn it around.  Even though Americans put up a fight and want to continue to live in destructive ways, we have to do it.

Do you think we can do it?

Does a fighter or champion sit at their desk all day mulling things over or when they encounter barriers they break through it?

You may be at a point where you hit your head against something for so many years, trying to overcome the obstacle and you may think that your head will break into pieces.

Actually, the stone wall will break when you are strong and armed with the truth. That is why you should be strong, bold and courageous.


I am fearless in this court battle, standing up to the fight. An incredible conspiracy has been at work, but I will shatter it. They can go ahead and put me in jail, but I know that the jail door itself cannot defeat me. I am tough and strong and I am not acting blindly. My actions are based on commitment as well as logic.


Father has been imprisoned 6 times for his beliefs and working hard to spread the truth even being thrown out in the snow and left for dead.

People will call such people crazy, but if you are living in a disciplined fashion going the true axis, you are not crazy.

When people move about without  a central point, or any axis, then they are truly what is called crazy.  But we have a disciplined craziness.

Be centered on the axis and never waver from the center even one iota.  No matter how many turns you make the axis remains firm, like a rock.

But the problem is that as we turn, our axis moves.  In other words, instead of sticking steadfast to the Principle, we let the worldly matters move us instead of breaking through those obstacles.

Do you think you made a mistake by living this way; do you think that you have sacrificed a lot for this life?  If you say no, you are better than even the Messiah!  To live a true, absolute course for others, denying your worldly desires is the hardest even for the Messiah.


The only reason I stay in this position is that I have accepted the responsibility. No matter how I evaluate the situation, this is the only right way. I cannot leave it. What about you? I know exactly how you feel. 


To make a long story short, this is the only way period.

Even the top-level student does not really like to work hard to prepare for an exam, but he still has to do it.  Students need to discipline themselves to get good grades.

Learning this teaching is a tough school; this is a lifestyle test.

No one really wants to live our way of life every day.  However, no matter how much we struggle against our fallen selves, this is the only way.

We must live this way of life to reach the eternal heaven.

Are you going to pack up now and go home?  We are standing on a solid foundation now, built by many saint's tears and sacrifices.  Have you laid your own foundation?

Americans hate cowards, but are you a coward?

You admire the brave character and the courageous spirit.

In Westerns, we applaud the strong hero and boo the cowardly characters, right?  Do we want to be cowardly people of faith?

The title of this speech is, "Everyone is Heading Somewhere".

There are two basic ways to go: the selfish way, or the unselfish way.

Which way are we going as a movement?

Is it selfish or unselfish to make your fiancee wait?

If you have the time or energy to party with them, then you have time to think about your mom, nation, world and God.  Your fiancee can wait.  If they are a good person, they will not be corrupted and can wait.   On the other hand, this nation's morals are crumbling, society is crumbling and is in an emergency situation.

You are the spiritual fire fighter and doctors that can save this nation.  Then is what we are doing right or wrong?

Some members are engaged and in the meantime, they fight for the salvation of this nation.  You sacrifice yourself, but you know that God will directly preside over your marriage and that you will have a better wedding.


I have no reservations about letting you suffer for the sake of the nation and the world. When you do that, the entire earth, spirit world, and God Himself will embrace you. This movement will be the guide for America to follow. You will automatically become leaders of the nation.


By living this way, following God's will ignoring fallen desires, we are going the right way.

We are headed in the proper direction, so we must march forth with courage.   Even though you may be spat upon as you do this work of restoration, this is truly the most prestigious and distinguished way of life.

You should be proud of this fact.

In whatever you do, do it with pride.

I have lived a truly remarkable life -- one filled with great drama. I may appear to be a normal person, doing nothing and knowing nothing, but I have special penetrating vision. I have super-sensitivity to the heart of other people, so I know many things about each of you. My way of life is to sacrifice myself, my family, my wife and children for the greater purpose.


Now you should clearly know which direction you should head.

Those who make a determination to follow this unselfish way of life raise you hands and show me.  May God bless you.

Why Do We Struggle With Sin?

People wonder why good people and religious people throughout history have always been persecuted.  For this reason, many people believe that that there is no God at all.

They wonder if God is a good all-powerful God, why does He allow so much suffering in the world.  Why have the major religions in their beginning been persecuted?

Persecution comes so that movement can receive blessings in the end.

It has always been true that under persecution a good person would become stronger. 

On the other hand, a self-centered individual begins to lean toward the evil side.  This is an age-old pattern where leaning toward the bad side, we feel ourselves weakening.  No matter how smart, rich or famous a person is, once he decides to stand apart from the side of goodness, he will begin to weaken.

Then the question is what would cause a person to turn away from the side of goodness?  Why does it seem that the rich people of the world seem to be the scoundrels causing many problems , not the good people?

Once a person veers toward the bad side, it is very hard to return to the good side.

But, if a person resides on the bad side realizes his lowly position and why good people are persecuted, he can go once more toward the way of goodness.

Looking at the situation of good and bad sides, then we must know there are two kinds of  gods to govern either one.

One god propagates goodness and one who multiplies and glorifies evil by helping evil people to prosper.

Does it seem rational to think that these two gods worked together to create the world, or did one become a creation from the other?

This is the very question that man has wondered: is man originally good or created to be both good and bad?  Some say that man was both good and bad while others feel that originally he was bad, but was made to have a choice to overcome evil by getting better and better day by day.

Where this confusion of origin lies, people don't have the tools to know which way to go.

Logically speaking, if a bad god created this world from the beginning, then the world will be bad and the outcome would be bad.  But on the contrary, man was built with a godly conscience that pushes us to want to do good.

This good conscience struggles against the heavy stream of badness in this hellish world.

If the world was built to be evil, then why does our conscience exist which causes so much internal struggle within each one of us?

If a bad god created the world then he would not have had room to create the conscience.

Can we conclude that conscience came into being after man was created or that it was part of man all along?  How do we think that conscience was part of man all the time?  How can conscience be such a strong force all throughout history and where does it come from?

Is it possible for a light source in the darkness to keep shining if it was not powered from another source somewhere else? We have witnessed that the conscience has immense power and is always present within us.

So, can we conclude that the conscience is powered by energy from somewhere outside itself?

We know God, so we feel that our conscience must be powered by energy from God.  We believe that the conscience continues to fight against the evil in history until evil is finally conquered and dispersed.

As long as evil remains in man, it will always confront the ways of goodness and will not freely let it go on its way.

Even though a person lives by the guidance of their conscience, they are still tempted by evil.  How can these two conflicting ideas come to reside inside of man?

The only thing we can surmise is that along the way to man becoming perfected, some accident outside of God occurred which caused man to come to contain two opposing elements.

When we build a machine, we want it to work and function properly to perform its duties.  It is not necessary for every part of a machine to break down for it to stop working.  If even the smallest part stops working, the whole machine will not work.

When we examine a sinful man, we can see that there must be a part missing within each of us that is broken, yet the conscience is intact.

Something else is amiss.  When we look further, we will see that somehow the body has ceased functioning.   Man's conscience is still in its original state, but the body must be repaired to function correctly.

There are three types of people in the world: one who lives absolutely by his conscience, one who sometimes does and sometimes doesn't, and finally the kind of person who only lives for his own profit, and never thinks about the meaning behind things.

If there are two gods, the evil god would dominate the people in the third category, plus oftentimes dominate the people in the second category.  The god of goodness can only have a connection with people in the first category

The third category places emphasizes on the body's desires, while those in the second category follow the standard of conscience which changes according to how good or bad their circumstances are.

A person in the first category however is so conscientious that love is part of his motivation in whatever he does.

The world is a museum of people, good, bad and in-between. 

Satan battles over who gains people in either category.

Satan constantly invades the second and third groups, whereas God works the other way trying to strengthen the conscience of man.

Every competition has rules to obey.  There is no exception for good and evil.  These rules must be kept.  What kind of rule would be the standard to apply to all the situations in the universe?

When we take a grand look at the nations around the world and their laws, we see laws that are created to protect the citizens.  Laws are intended to protect goodness from being invaded.

A man must have true love before he can be a true man. 

Also, before God can be a true God, He also must have true love.  We can only think of a true rule in these terms.  Every person good, bad or in-between claims that they take every action from the base of true love, but how do we recognize true love?

True love likes and embraces everything, whether it is in man's world, God's world, or the world of the universe.

If true love was to become visible and rise just as the sun in the morning, everything would see and admire it and never take their gaze from it.  Even those in the spirit world will fix their eyes upon it.  Would everyone in the world rush to be the first to reach there?

Even true love has order.

Man's body also has an order.  Each limb and organ always appear in the same place.  Likewise, when love appears, those who are closest to being true should go there first.  Then, true man comes closest to true love.

But when true love does not show itself, heaven is empty.  Until a true man and true love appear, the real heaven is empty.

God is trying to broaden His territory.  This was the Principle of Creation though history's direction went in the opposite direction.  Wouldn't it be better to live in a domain of goodness than the current world of sin?  This realm would include everything.  Man is raised up enough to be included here, and all things will come under him, the three great blessings.

According to this godly standard, are you a true man?

If a good god created man, then why weren't we born as a true man?  Why does it take so much effort to become a true man after we are born?

Because something in the process of building the first family went fundamentally wrong with man.

Do you want to become a true man?

The first man and woman did not follow the true way and every person has inherited this tainted bloodline nonstop.  Therefore, man has come to live in the area where God does not dominate.  Man has been trying to overcome the effects of the fall through religion.

Man's fervent desire is to return to the original area where God dwells, but some material is needed to form a safe bridge.

This material is a true man.  Finally, God forms a bridge to enable man to go right into His heart.

It becomes clear when we know the small set of rules that govern all of history, then it no longer appears complicated.  It is less confusing than when the rules work on every level at the same time.

Every man was created with a conscience, and without being told, they know what is right.  Therefore, every person's mind has a purpose for goodness.  This intense feeling that makes you feel that you have to absolutely do something for goodness is almost a religious feeling.

When you first wake up and you see the sun shining in the morning, don't you automatically think that it is going to be a good day?  Also, if you were to meet someone early in the day, then you feel that the day will be a fruitful day.

On the other hand, when you meet a 'bad' person, maybe you feel it will be a fruitless day.

But, a religious man will think that when he meets a bad person that it will bring him luck.  They understand the difficulty and hardship will help you pay indemnity!

A bad man can not continue the true way of life for even one full day, for he would be too tired.  Religious people who follow the true way also become tired, but not discouraged.

It would be like an ordinary person might take a whole life to walk all the way to Washington, but religious people might walk all the way to the Orient in the same time.  Some people might climb 3, 000 feet high, but a religious person may climb a 30, 000 feet more.

Every man, good or bad, powerful or weak, wants to change the world the way he likes it.  

If a person has true love, anything can be done because everything he does is within the law of the universe.  If a person has the goal to reach true love in his life, no matter how long it takes, he still has to reach his destination.

Imagine a room is the entire earth and one person possesses a tiny speck of territory.  If this person has true love, the whole world is his.  Even God desires to posses this true love.  Each human has that desire, but usually people don't know why they have this desire.  It is natural.  The purpose of that desire is to guide them to find true love.

It is a good thing if a person posses this strong desire, because it will carry him up high toward true love.  Without this intense desire to have true love, a man will go wrong.

Desire can either be good or bad.

This point must be clear or one will become confused about which direction they should go.  Confusion in love causes you to lose power.  Nowadays, people are confused by the rules of love and follow all the wrong directions not knowing which way is up.

We need material to build this bridge whether it is all things, man or spirit world.

Each person's life is going toward the direction of love.  This is the providence of history to return humanity's path away from the fall toward God's heavenly direction.  Everything is fashioned to be directed toward this goal.  God also, must go in this direction, but without man's help, God cannot go there.

What does God's true love look like?

Is it God Himself or some object?  The object of God is a true man which He gives and takes with true love.  True God and true man were meant to live together centering on true love.

If God can do as He pleases, why does he make man suffer?  Why does man have to work so hard to mend broken history?

Without true man, God cannot completely fulfill His true love. We have an equal position in this.  God gave us a portion of responsibility in order for man to have a part of creation.

Everybody Wants True Love

Does this seem like a false statement?  Is it possible that even a criminal, a mob boss or a seemingly heartless person deep down wants love?

All of the worlds problem can be solved through true love.

Where does this love begin?  It would begin in the family as two individuals mature in love , come together and bear their fruit of love expanding it on the family level.  Family is the textbook for love.  This level expands to the society, nation and the world.


Every human no matter how evil they may appear to be, wants true love.

Reverend Moon had tapped into the truth of the world's major headaches and found the root and cause of these problems. He explains the topic of True love in his following speech:

"Respected religious leaders, I am truly grateful that so many of you have taken time out of your busy schedules to gather here for the Fourth True Family Values Ministry Awards Banquet.

Ladies and Gentlemen, what is the most important thing that we need more than anything else?

It is not money, power or knowledge. It is true love. True love is more precious than life itself and more important to us than air or water.

Why is true love so precious and important? It is because it is the means by which we can meet God. Just as human beings desire to meet God, God also wants to meet true human beings because of love.

The love by which God can see, touch and share with men and women at the same time, is the love by which men and women love each other.

If anything other than love were to be recognized as the most valuable thing in the universe, men and women would fight each other to try to claim it for themselves.

Once we realize that love is the highest value, however, we can strive to live for each other and become one with each other, sharing the happiness of possessing love together.



Everyone desires love. 

Love is the only thing that can satisfy all human desires. It is humankind’s, and God’s, unfailing attraction to love that makes God’s providence of salvation possible. Fundamentally, love belongs to God. Yet even God cannot possess love all by Himself. Love requires a mutual relationship. A man by himself or a woman by herself cannot experience love.

Women exist for the sake of men’s love and men exist for the sake of women’s love. Regardless of external appearance, in our heart each of us desires a mate with whom we can give and receive the highest level of love.

When we examine the universe, we see that all beings exist in pairs relating to one another as subject and object. In the mineral world, we observe the relationship of plus and minus. In the plant world, the animal world and the world of human beings, we see the relationship between masculine and feminine.

This is because God created the universe in order to fulfill the expression of love. All beings desire the experience of true love through a mutual relationship. Love is the one power in the universe that absolutely no one can possess by himself.

Once we have a partner, however, love gives us the power to share the entire universe. Likewise, a husband and wife need children in order to experience the profound joy of parental love.

Thus, we can say that God created human beings and the universe as His reciprocal partners in order to bring about true love. All types of love -- including love of children, love of siblings, love of husband and wife, and love of parents -- come about through the unity of subject and object partners.

When two partners become one in true love, it is impossible to separate them. If for any reason separation occurs, true love is destroyed. Therefore, in true love there is no concept of divorce.

When a man feels love, the feeling is not generated on its own. The feeling awakens in his heart because of a particular woman. Likewise, the fire of love is kindled in the heart of a woman not by herself alone but by the man she loves.

In other words, our love belongs to our partner. Thus, we should honor our partner’s love as being even more precious than our love.

True love comes through both horizontal and vertical reciprocal relationships. A horizontal relationship of true love is gradually elevated in a vertical direction until it eventually reaches the pinnacle. This pinnacle is the position of the "King and Queen of True Love." We are born for the sake of love, live for the sake of love, and finally die for the sake of love.


Adam and Eve's False Love

God’s ideal was for one couple, Adam and Eve, centering on true love, to become the seed from which all the world’s families, clans, nations and, finally, the multitudinous citizenry of the Kingdom of Heaven would be descended. Citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven can be created only in accordance with God’s tradition of true love.

In all creation, the most precious entities are human beings -- men and women.

Furthermore, the most precious part of the human body is not the nose, the eyes, the hands, or even the brain. It is the sexual organs, the main organs of love. Everything in the universe can be recreated through the sexual parts.

Most living things -- whether plants or animals -- multiply through sex.

The most precious and outstanding family begins with a husband and wife who are one with each other. Our love organs are the main sanctuary of life, occupying a position of incredible value where blood lineage and history are connected. God’s fundamental principle is to create through male and female.

For a man and woman to share absolute love, however, they should have only one partner. We must not have two or more partners, but only one, eternally.

There is absolutely only one man for each woman and one woman for each man. That is why God did not create two Adams or two Eves. Tragically, in the world today we see children who have had as many as ten stepfathers. How false and degraded love has become!

When men and women uphold and preserve chastity, they are protecting the universe. The discipline of love between men and women is the foundation of the universe. We must not abuse our love as if we were animals. Our love can only have one owner. The word "true" in "true love" does not allow for the possibility of more than one partner. There can be only one. This is an absolute law.

Not just anyone can say they have 'true love'. Only God can really love with true love, and only God absolutely owns true love. God’s true life, God’s true lineage, and God’s true conscience emerges from true love. In this way, the most fundamental essence of God is true love.


God’s Children

We are created as God’s children. As we grow in love, relating to brothers and sisters, becoming husbands and wives, giving birth and raising children, God is present each step of the way, harvesting true love. God observes and guides us as we develop, and He becomes the owner of love at each stage.

In this sense, it can be said that human beings, through whom God comes to own all love, are more precious to God than He is to Himself. In the same way, we attach a thousand times more value to the person we love than to ourselves. God invests Himself for those He loves and then forgets this investment.

Then he invests again and again. In the same way, a wife who wants her husband to be a success invests herself in her husband and then forgets this investment.

By investing herself and forgetting, she enables him to achieve his full potential in life. When we as partners continue to invest in each other and forget, the level of our love is elevated, and we will ultimately find ourselves connected to God. This is how we can fulfill our parent-child relationship with God and have eternal life.

Everyone wants to go to heaven, but those whose attitude is "Everyone should live for me," will not get there. True love begins with embracing and living for the sake of all God’s masterpieces of creation. The way we can reach heaven is to live for all humankind and ultimately for God.

Again, the ideal family and ideal nation are the places where all of us -- as parents, children, couples, brothers and sisters, and nations -- want to establish ownership of true love. From there, eternal world peace will emerge, the Kingdom of God on Earth will dawn, and the Kingdom of God in Heaven will blossom.

Beginning from the year 2000, in every corner of the globe, countless blessed families united with the Parents of Heaven and Earth will initiate a new family revolution and worldwide moral revolution, centering on true love. God is longing to see the eternal ideal Kingdom of God built on Earth as well as in Heaven. Let us join in this holy task. May God’s blessing be abundant upon you and your family."SMM

How to Weaken the Body's Harmful Desires

Religious text refer to the body as the flesh and show that it is the cause for the chaos in the world we experience today.  We will continue from yesterday's post which delved more into mind and body unity based on self-control. W society that is self-governed by such individuals are closer to the ideal society in which God originally created.  A Utopia.

One must reinforce the mind's strength through methods such as prayer, study, respect for parents and other well-known measures.  It is a challenge to set up the right order between the mind and body so that both can function in the best way.

For example, one who is trying to control their appetite and their unhealthy passion does not have to lead to anti-physical or otherworldly excess.

Weakening the Power of the Body

The first method is to weaken the influence of the body's wants and desires.  One has to make a conscious decision to disregard the body's preoccupation with being comfortable or wanting control over our better thoughts.


1. Deprivations

One basic means is through fasting and other deprivations. These stunts the usual control of the body and material environment over the spiritual and moral desires to make it easier for the mind to assert itself.

Meditation, prayer and reflection come more clearly and readily.

“The first week of Ramadan is really hard,” reports a university student. “I am just tired and really hungry by nightfall. But after that, I start feeling light and really good, and don’t miss eating. I am more in touch with myself, more aware of other people, more sensitive to God’s blessings in my life.”

When one experiences this deep joy and liberation it shows the motivation for the extreme practices of some religions and medieval ascetics in order to control the body's temptations and individuals in a society.

A secondary effect of fasting help to control self-centered impulses like complaint, anger, impatience or jealousy and suppress the body's reliance on physical distractions.

Our spiritual strength arises when we overcome physical desires that cause physical discomforts.  There are other ways besides fasting to weaken the body.  Reducing the hours the body needs to sleep by rising early for morning devotions is a common way.

Introducing the body to discomfort on purpose such as cold showers or hard physical labor is another way.  The main idea is to combat any unproductive habit as the simplest way to stay in charge of one's mind and body.

“I quit smoking two years ago,” declares a restaurant manager, “and now I watch out for something getting a hold of me even in a small way. Like I stopped watching the news for a few weeks one time, and I skip my morning coffee once in a while, just to show myself I can live without it.”

Practicing chastity and celibacy is a strong way to keep the strong hold of the body in balance.


2. Obedience and Self-denial

Another way to weaken the body is through a life lived in service and submission to a higher authority.  This authority can be a moral or spiritual principle, God or country or anything else an individual holds in great regard.  In order to do so, this involves self-denial, overcoming the need for self-assertion and rebellious behavior and eliminate immature attitudes like ego and pride.

The military is the obvious example of training in obedience. 

In order for one to be part of the armed forces, an individual must learn to subdue their own selfish tendencies, respond to orders and become part of an effective unit or group.  Team sports is another example of such training.  Team players must deny their personal glory and give their best for the sake of the whole which is the team.


3. Living Simply

When one makes their lifestyle simple, it is compared to avoiding idolizing materials.  One has to choose to put their focus on the spiritual and rational approach when it comes to property.

When we turn on the media, we see the push for us to consume more and acquire more in order to foster a self-indulgent way of life where the importance is on comfort and amusement.  Living a simplistic life resists this and helps to maintain a proper balance of mind and body instead of our well being depending solely on the material.



Adopting a certain austerity in possessions means the preference of substance over style and remembering the difference between needs and desires.



Living simple avoids the traps of debt that is very oppressive and is a burden that saps the peace of mind and constrains one's ability to give freely.

Like the Israelites in the wilderness who were instructed to take only of the manna and quail that they needed for the day, simplicity means resisting the temptation to hoard and trusting in tomorrow’s provision.

“Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you shall wear,” Jesus declared. “Is not life more important than food, and the body more than clothes?”

Matthew 6.25


This is a reminder how Heavenly Father takes care and keeps a connection with those that keep His words and makes the strength of the spirit over the body or flesh a priority.

“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,” and material needs will be taken care of as well

Matthew 6.33


A simple life relies on bringing happiness from the treasures of the heart instead of from pleasures of the body.  Also, having faith that true wealth is in love and spiritual growth and not in having an abundance of things.  Such a life recognizes that God is the real source of material prosperity and security.


Strengthening the Power of the Mind


1. Determining and realizing goals
2. True love as motivation
3. Acting on faith
4. Service
5. Connection with God


When the body is subdued, we need at the same time to strengthen the mind through toughening the moral will.  We build this will through the daily habit like a muscle through choices of doing the right thing despite having fear, distress or being tired.

To do so, an individual needs to strengthen their moral fiber through adversity.  The individual needs challenges whether it is given or self-sought to develop inner strength of will.

1. Determining and realizing goals

The basic way to strengthen will and build self-discipline through making a determination to oneself and God and then achieve them.  This can be exampled through talking to a troubled relatives just as you were about to delve into an enjoyable book.  Also, when one changes careers in order to be a greater service to humanity.  Trying to stay healthy for the children and spouse.

Even more challenging is to set goals that rely mainly on spiritual power, fueled by prayer, study of spiritual truth and acts of love. 

“Twelve years ago when I first came to Mountainview High,” recalls a physics teacher in a rural school in the American Midwest, “I swore that I would bring the white and Native American students and faculty together in a tangible way.  I prayed about it every day, stuck my neck out more than a few times, got misunderstood a lot and once almost lost my job. But now in the faculty there are cross-cultural friendships developing and this year the president of the student council is a Native American boy.”

In order to reverse the negative history of betrayal between God and humanity, we need to make promises to God and fulfill them.  This is significant.  It also helps to build self-respect and faith in oneself.  This is probably the most powerful way to attract divine support.  A person that fulfills their promises and actually carry out their responsibilities is noticed not only by other people, but also and especially by Heaven.


2. True Love as Motivation

Having motivation empowers the will to go beyond any discomfort we may experience in order to achieve our goals.  This motivation depends on having meaningful purposes that will make such sacrifices worthwhile.

The strongest motivation is true love; “love is the key to unification of mind and body,” states Reverend Moon. This power of love is familiar to parents.

Dick Hoyt, 62, has raced in every Boston Marathon for over 20 years pushing his paralyzed adult son, Rick, in a wheelchair. In 1999 they became the first team ever to finish the Ironman Triathlon World Championship. It began when teenage Rick asked his father to push him in a local race.  When they finished, the boy excitedly declared, “It was as if I wasn't handicapped.”

This motivated his father to challenge his every physical limitation in order to give his son that experience over and over ever since then.

The power of love is behind the heroic sacrifices of religious and national lore. 

An example of this will is the first Pilgrim settlers to North America.  They starved to death instead of eating the grain that was intended for planting once their reached their destination out of love and hope for the next generation with dreams to build a community where they could worship freely.

Out of love for God and the Savior, St. Peter desired to face a painful execution by being crucified upside down.  This can be through legendary proportions or just small everyday acts of unselfishness, true love as the strongest means of subduing the body.


Act on Faith

A person can have tremendous powers of self-control when they are able to visualize a better future despite any obstacles that stands before them.

Debi Faris is a woman who knows what it is like to heed the call of her heart and conscience in faith. A wife and mother of three teenagers, she heard of an abandoned baby found dead in her town of Calimesa, California, and arranged to give the child a proper funeral and burial.

One child led to three and her middle-class family committed to the costs, ultimately $27,000, despite other pressing expenses. “I remember praying, ‘I don’t think I can do this, God. I don’t think I have the courage,’” she recalls. “I stayed quiet for a while until I sensed that what we were doing was right. It was an act of love, and at that moment I made a commitment to offer it to any child who needed it.”

She has since organized the funds and volunteers to found a cemetery for abandoned babies, the Garden of Angels, and is fighting for legislation to help prevent such tragedies.

Those who believe in one's own gifts or that it is inevitable that truth and goodness will finally triumph have a strong advantage that helps them achieve the strongest resources to unite mind and body.  As well as those who have built the power of faith and hope and are "sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see".

4. Service 

This includes the physical service to others: massaging the back of an elderly person, preparing salad for the homeless, picking a bag full of trash in the neighborhood all are helpful practices for strengthening the moral will because it requires humility.

“We made a point of just showing up ready to do whatever work was needed, no fanfare,” recalls a man of his group of comrades from a service club.

“The staff at the rehab center were surprised to see middle-aged men willing to just set up the party, serve the boys soda and food and take down and mop up afterwards. And it didn't do this CEO big shot any harm either to do grunt work for a bunch of not-too-grateful teenagers. I think I learned a few things.”


Connection With God

All of these methods are used to empower the moral will and is the greatest prescription for mind and body unity by connecting to the divine Source.

“The first step is for your mind to become one with God,” says Reverend Moon, “and then your body will become one with your mind.”

Here are more resources of strengthening the mind and access the Heavenly Parent:

Prayer, worship, scripture study, supporting the local community, putting faith into action, fulfilling determinations and promises, practicing submission and offering service.

“Live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature,” promises St. Paul.

Galatians 5.16


Like a soldier, the stronger the bond of the mind and God, the more ready the mind can conquer the body. The brave Corrie Ten Boom, a elderly watchmaker, was sent to a concentration camp because she rescued Jews during the Holocaust.

Corrie began to lecture after the war about God's love, forgiveness and healing of the wounds of war.  After one of these lectures, a former S.S. guard, who had been at one her concentration camps, was waiting in the back of the room.

Immediately, she began to have flashbacks of her and her sister who had been forced to walk naked in front of men guards on the way to the showers.  She remembered being ill, cold, old, hungry and in pain and how she was being mocked sexually by these guards.

She remembered that her sister had been tortured by pain of humiliation in front of the same guard she sees now.  Her sister later died at that camp.  The former guard came up to Corrie acknowledging her pledge of God's forgiveness in her life.  He held out his hands reaching out for hers asking for her forgiveness.

Forgiveness was part of her life now and not only a part of her lectures.  Was it easy for her even now?

“I tried to smile, I struggled to raise my hand. I could not. I felt nothing, not the slightest spark of warmth or charity,” Corrie said.

Yet, she could never forget all the religious teachings she has had and was teaching about forgiving people who have hurt you in the past.  So, being the woman of faith, she took in a breath and prayed for the strength to do what God wanted and she eventually took his hands into hers.

She matched her deeds to her highest ideals and words that she was illuminating to the crowds when she finally could take action to forgive the most horrid part of her life with this guard as a representative.

Then, “As I took his hand the most incredible thing happened.  From my shoulder along my arm and through my hand a current seemed to pass from me to him, while into my heart sprang a love for this stranger that almost overwhelmed me.”

This spark of love made Corrie cry out that he was her brother and she assured him that she had completely forgave him.

Her ability to take actions on truths and promises that she had spoken had unleashed the flow of true love and liberated both persecutor and the persecuted.  When a person is able to love even when it is the most difficult requires us to assert the mind over the demands of the body to protect itself and its ego.

Through such efforts to reduce this pull of the flesh while at the same time enhancing our moral and spiritual strength, the mind and body can be brought into unity!

Thus the heart is liberated to give of itself freely and unselfishly, and will be able to reap the richest rewards in return.

The Love Man and Woman Desire

"In your life's journey, the loveliest and most beautiful time is your youth. In youth, your looks are like the most precious flower. Someone who can love fully can be invited into God's living room. A man and a woman who have such love can receive God's blessings and be invited into His living room." 

What is the definition of human happiness?

Can we say someone is happy because they have a lot of money or diamonds and jewelry?

The only way to happiness is to experience the joy of your partner whispering in your ear while you are both enraptured in love.  This is a truly happy couple that can do this.  A couple that enjoys a partner softly whispering in their ear while caressing their earlobe would think that they were dreaming.

Our youth is the happiest time of our life.  It is the time we are still blooming radiantly and bursting virtually with love.  This is also the time to unite in love with another.

An ideal person does not search for someone who is just absorbed into the love of a man and woman relationship.  Rather, this person would search for a partner that first loves God, the world and then loves you with his or her remaining love.

When we look at this principle of the universe, we see that we have fallen away from this idea. We mostly look for a love that can fulfill only our needs, but true love wants to give unceasingly to the other and the world.

True happiness for a woman is to meet her true subject partner in love. 

If a man searches with seriousness for a love while he is single, others will only view him as a crazy man.  No matter how talented or handsome this man or woman may be, it is of no use to anyone if there is no love to be found.

Men and women have opposite attributes and personalities to the other.

Women are uni-directional, while men are multi-directional.  Mostly the man travels around the world while women stay home.   What can unite men and women as subject and object partners?  They unite through love.  This love also unites humankind and God.

The reason God created humankind was for the perfection of the ideal of love.  Therefore, the relationship between God and humankind is the highest example of love to be found between a subject and an object partner.

So, when will humankind reach this perfection of love?

It will only happen when man and woman reach a point where they will make a connection of love and understand the extreme value of this love and cherish it.

Even though a man may be very handsome and healthy, this does not carry any meaning if he does not have a woman.  A man who is only occupied with his great looks and the health of his body is useless.

Many men have caused our tragic history because of their self-centered lives.  God's providence of restoration to lead the world back into His direct dominion has been to transform this self-centered world back into his ideal world or Utopia.

Therefore, the best idea in the world is a man for a woman and a woman for a man.  So, the love that charms a man won't be found in another man or a woman won't be enchanted by the love of another woman.  It may have seem this way in our revolutionary lifestyles of America, but we are speaking of the absolute true love of God.

Do you long for love when you are alone?

When a man loves a woman with God's love, he should be able to say, "I love her inside and out.  We share a love that will not change from beginning to end".

A woman should preserve and keep her body sealed to reveal and share such a love.  She should close it like a peony flower that is wrapped in many layers.  This way, the couple will be able to experience the harmony of heaven and earth in spring and start a new life in unity and do this well.

Dr. Reverend Sun Myung Moon highlights this point during his speech:

"Among the flowers, which do you think is the most beautiful?

I don't know what kind of flowers you like, but I like flowers that look like a trumpet. The reason is that trumpet-looking flowers send their fragrances far away.

Trumpet-looking flowers represent deep love. Flowers must look like a trumpet if their fragrances are to spread far. For this reason, the more a flower resembles a trumpet, the more fragrance it has.

So if women are like flowers, they should have a deep heart of love. Flowers with beautiful fragrances are loved by all people. 

Lilies, for example, are loved for their simplicity and elegance. I think the clear and elegant lilies are aesthetically and emotionally rich flowers because their stems aid leaves have the same color so it is difficult to distinguish which is which.

Likewise, ladies should be like morning glories and lilies. They should be clear and elegant flowers."SMM

Every girl, no matter how pretty, after adolescence has a most precious time of her life when her beauty truly flowers.  Is there any woman who can say she is happy and rather be alone than to be with the ideal man?

This is not the definition of a woman.  What about a man?  Is there any during this time of youth that rather live alone than share love with an ideal woman?  At that time, they are more likely to look for a partner.

Why?

It is because we resemble God.  During our adolescence, it is the best time to look for a life partner.  This is true for both men and women alike.  There is nothing of creation that was brought about for its own sake.

Why do men exist?

Men would say they are not interested in questions or discussions about relationships and they rather live alone, but man was born for the sake of women.  Without women, there is no reason for man to exist. 

When we look at the five senses of our ears, nose, mouth, eyes, and hands and truly observe, we can see that they are there for the sake of our partner?  Can we look into our own eyes without looking in a mirror?

Our five senses are tools of true love, created for the sake of true love.

Some American women might not want to hear this, but the most precious thing for a woman is a man.  It doesn't matter if he is plain, crippled, talented or not.  What matters is which man she can find a love that has value.

God will rejoice over a relationship where a man loved by God lives in the heart of a woman and a woman loved by God lives in the heart of a man.  When this couple cherishes each other God and all things will be happy together.

Their joyful embrace will be of great importance in bringing joy to heaven and earth.  Such a couple that embraces in mutual adoration is a meeting point where the universe becomes one.  This was the original ideal which God had wanted to realize with Adam and Eve.

Woman is not born for the sake of another woman just as man was born for the sake of a woman.  The problem occurs when a woman convinces herself that she does not need or is not born for the sake of a man.

Women and men can protests and argue all day and night that they do not need the opposite sex, but God, the great master of the creation made this as an original rule.  You and I will not be able to enter the true, joyful and peaceful world of love without following this rule.

Women should be careful not to give sidelong glances at the countless men in the world.

Fidelity is more precious than your life.

Have you noticed that the most horrendous crimes have started because of the passion from the misuse of love?

Women in this new era will open up a path that will resonate throughout history.  This path will be loved by the husband, sons and daughters, by the nation, even loved by the world.

Women should undertake the solemn task of establishing a basis from which the beauty, nobility, and emotional tradition of women can shine forth. In order to accomplish this, you should give your utmost heart as a truthful and genuine person. 

The most beautiful time in life is young adulthood when the flower is in full bloom.  This period is from the age of eighteen to twenty-four.  This precious time will never be repeated in your life when the beautiful flower of your love will blossom.  

A peony is a type of flower that the buds are wrapped tightly in dozens of layers so they cannot be up easily.  This is true for both men and women.  When is the best time to reveal this bud of love that blossoms?

The time of youth is the best time to reveal your beauty within the harmony of heaven and earth.  This is when the blossoms are at their peak and you shine as the centerpiece of God's great work of art.  This is the time when you will be in full bloom under God's blessings.

Do not defile your purity of heart during this time of youth.  This time is the time to reverse the selfish love of Adam and Eve who lost their heart of pure love in their youth.

Your determination should be firm enough to say that even if you have to wait thousands of years for love you will absolutely keep it pure and not abuse this gift.  If you are able to not defile your holy pure heart by the dirtied, stained fallen world, where would be the best place to place your heart?  Place it on the altar that brings God the greatest joy.

This holy ground where a man and woman both with a pure heart meet can become bound as one.  This is a place where the bride and groom meet.
