See the Bigger Picture

"Everyone is headed somewhere," is an universal statement. People in the past, present and future have all been headed somewhere.  But what is their destination?

Children who leave the house in the morning, school is their goal.  Even though many students go to the same school, they can be learning entirely different subjects.

Modern science is divided into many fields with each scholar focusing on something different. Before there was modern technology that is highly developed, people basically worked in factories for a living and were involved in the whole manufacturing process.

Today's factories, workers may feel they are a small part of the whole and do not know what the rest of the factory is involved in and many feel that they play a significant role.

Those who go for their doctorate are often focused on a very narrow, specialized area.

Once they are able to accomplish their goal in that certain field and have considerable knowledge about it, they can be awarded with a degree.

They can be compared to residents of the large cities such as New York, who go to the countryside for the week and search the streams for a certain pebble or insect.  For that person, he thinks it is important to study such things, but the realm of the big city cannot fit inside a tiny bug.

Somehow, such research should connect to the realities of New York.

People are blinded by their focused outlook, that they lose sight of the whole.  They lack the perspective of the world, nation, society, or even the family.

As people go about their daily lives, they do not want to think about ideology, or how to better themselves or the world.

This is why the traditional value systems are crumbling.

Americans and people of the free world are suffering, simply because they do not see the bigger picture of what is taking place in the universe.

Thus, they lack any vision and do not know what to expect for the future.

Once one obtains their Ph.D, which direction should he move: toward the universe, or down?

If he goes down, he declines.

The further you descend, the less you will be able to see on a larger scale until everything turns pitch black.  Then  you become more and more confused.

When you are living in this way, your path is blocked and you see only people's misery and suffering.  This is the direction many intellectual people are headed.

Many learned people may brag about their accomplishments, but they really have closed minds.

Thus, universities and institutions are headed in that direction because of the people who are leading and running them.

Once a people live in an animalistic way only wanting to have fun and stimulate their body, they do not see the reason for ideology or even morality.  They wonder why follow a disciplined life?

People live for such lowly goals.

Reality shows have taken number one positions in the television arena with young people wishing to become like the people on the shows.  They perpetrate animalistic lifestyles as rewarding, glamorous and the best way of life.

Where are the shows that show the side effects of living such an selfish, external life without any morals and thinking about others?

Without any foundation, individuals can't relate to something greater than themselves, some higher cause. 

People don't even want to think about a higher purpose in life.

Majority of citizens only see themselves as individuals not seeing them as part of the whole.  They do understand that the world is full of wrongs, but they just want to have fun anyway forgetting all the problems.

They do not worry about the direction or history because they think that somebody else is running it.

Such people are not worried about their community and they do not have strong patriotic feelings toward their nation.  This is the situation America has found itself.

Majority of people do not have any real goals and they do not make an effort to go beyond their situations.  They could at least pursue the well-being of their country as one goal.  Even if they cared about their home town, they would have a place to return in the future.

When people look at the past, they conclude that God cannot exist because they cannot find any trace of Him.  Then because of this belief, they do not see the need in religion.

In any school, the student who is a little better than the rest of the students will be the winner.

People see someone who has a Ph.D and they want to follow him, but someone who has a doctorate's degree that keeps hitting stonewalls in life will only cause the people that follow him disaster.

We all must go somewhere, but where?

God created the human mind where there is a corner of the brain which simply cannot accept a totally animalistic way of life.  Even portions of the body will rebel such a lifestyle saying that life should not be like that.

We can hear this voice whispering from within.  People's carnal desires tries to push them in a certain direction, but then another part will place on the brakes saying, "No, that is not right".

What if someone was to eat at a different Chines restaurant for every meal for one week?  Afterward, he wouldn't even want to look at Chinese food that he once coveted just a short time ago when he was very hungry.

We are living int he age where free sex is rampant.

People meet and have relations without even getting to know each others first or last names.  These kinds of people are able to satisfy their bodily desires, but then what?  Can they live happily ever after or even affect the world with such behavior?

What if there was a man who was having sex with several women a week? He along with several others would believe that he was living a satisfactory lifestyle envied by others.

But once he is alone back at home, he truly know that he feel empty inside.

Then he may reminisce about the time that he dated a simple, country girl who was only mildly pretty.  She may have not worn make-up, but she had a pure heart.

He will remember the days when he was in love with her and he now realizes that those times were better times than he is enjoying now.

Even though externally it looks as though he has everything he needs to enjoy life, it does not satisfy him.  He feels empty once he looks back upon how he was living a pure life and had pure love for someone.

Some people may quarrel once with their spouse and accuse them saying that they do not care about them and leave.

On the other hand a true husband and a true wife will disagree at times, but their relationship has a cohesiveness which nothing can destroy.

Even though they may fight, they do not want to break up.  Which of the above examples do you want for a spouse?  Of course you wouldn't want the first kind, but why?

Anybody with a conscience will say no to this.

Everyone comes to this same conclusion.  How can one talk about the ideal way of life when they are living in such volatile situations constantly?  Where can you find true love in that situation?

Can we find any righteousness in a society that is filled with selfish individuals?

People will feel that this world is evil, bleak, dark and sinful and they would not want to have anything to do with it.

To follow the path of the world brings only calamity and disaster. 

Would anyone disagree that living a life only for oneself leads to destruction?

Since that is the path to ruin and death, what way should we go?

We do not see the solution anywhere in America, Europe or in the great Western world.  In fact, all of the Western society is walking that path toward disaster.

We can conclude that God exists.

God must be hastening the decline of the Western world by letting it crumble in order for it to rebirth into a new world.  It is the same as killing a germ that is trying to infect the rest of the world.

Wouldn't this be the logical conclusion?

If God exists, would He just sit back and watch as the rest of the world crumbles or would He take action?

God would want to exterminate the evil germs quickly, like a diseased person, in order to keep the healthy parts of the world from becoming infected.

Those whose thinking is parallel to God's thinking would be also concerned about reversing the trend in which the Western civilization is headed and turn it toward a new and good direction.

Some Western people have decided that they rather live somewhere else and end up denying their home country.  Americans were once revered by other nations, but now when they visit other countries, they are rejected.  This is the reality today.

America's greatest need today is finding hope in the midst of despair. 

Because God exists, He must have placed a beacon of hope somewhere.  He has made a way to stem the tide.

Anyone who wants to have a part in accomplishing this change is taking up the most critical challenge in America.

When you really think about it, has there ever been a religion or a philosophy that has been able to save America?  So, far we have witnessed none that have been able to completely eradicate this nations's problem.

There has not been any political, religious or social ideology to liquidate the problems of its citizens.  In fact, when we compare the situation of America to just 30 years ago, we see that the country is in an emergency situation.  Even the religious powers in this day are being eradicated.

People may even judge that God is not concerned with the problems of this society.

Do you think it is possible to find a solution?

Of course man has tried all throughout history to find pragmatic compromises to attempt to justify people's fallen way of life.  Many people today claim that God is dead.

So, where can the solution be found?

Through the almighty God.

God is of love, so He must somehow devise a solution for this nation.  Therefore, something new and great should come about so the change can come to the United States spreading throughout the world.

The Communists have claimed that God does not exists; He is just made up to comfort the poor.

The Marxist ideology, based on material,  has been on the offensive in the world and many Westerners have been heavily influenced by those ideals.

If you follow the communistic way of life, you will decline.  Even if you follow the Western way of life which looks glamorous, you will decline.  When we look at this situation, there seems to be no hope.

Communist denies God and on the other side, the free world recognizes God, but have abandoned Him.

Everybody is headed some place, but where?

We can make an analogy of the situation humanity faces right now.

Imagine a boat full of blind people.  Now, they are approaching Niagara Falls.

Everyone knows that they are going somewhere, but they are not aware of the imminent danger ahead where they will plunge thousands of feet to their death.

How will we stop this movement toward destruction?

This is not just one person's theory.  This is a very real problem.

Would we be able to escape this disaster by making a magical leap?  Do we have enough energy to do that?

Why are we even here?

First, we proclaim that God exists and that He is here and not dead.

Next, we have a steadfast philosophy of hope, not despair.  Our philosophy is based on the living God, not on fixing things quickly.

Furthermore, we have a genuine solution to the world's problem which no one else has been able to solve.  This solution is capable of bringing all the people of the world into unity.

Communism is the archenemy of God and religion; thus communists also hate the Messiah. 

America has abandoned God and has acquired a loose standard of living, thus becoming God's adversary.

To follow this true way of life, we were pulled out of the secular way of living in order to become a new breed of people who can go out to the world and bring new life everywhere.

Many from both camps have tried to destroy this work, but what if everyone trying to better America disappeared?  Would America automatically improve?

Right now, as we go on our missions in other countries, Africans may say for us to go home.  But if we were to make a change in the nation, we can quickly influence the world and turn it in the right direction.

If people of America were to demonstrate a true way of life, the rest of the world, especially the less-developed nations will follow.  This is why God placed His focus on such a nation as America built on religious freedom.  Our purpose is for world salvation.

The Western way is now based on selfishness, not caring about others.

Many people want to take advantage of other poorer nations, but we are working to transform the American way into an unselfish and sacrificial way of life.

The only way the United States will truly survive and prosper will be to have its white people and youth give out their sweat blood and tears for the sake of other nations, creating a true revolution which no one can stop.

Do you think that Harvard University professors or deans are up to the task?

Only one person proclaims that Americans should do this work of restoring the world and make it a reality.  Yet, he has been opposed by the U.S. and the entire world.

Once people see him living in this way and continuing to move forward as an immovable rock, they are repentful at how they have criticize him in their heart and misunderstood his direction.


You think, "Of course, Father is trying to do some good, but he is doing it in his Oriental way. He is just forcing the Korean direction on us."  But let's think together this morning. Does America need my direction and the solutions I offer? How much does America need a solution? 

If your parents oppose you and if the government or the entire nation came against you, would you still be convinced that this is the right way of life? But what would you do if nobody helped you? If you were all alone, would you give up? We must not give up. Our devotion will continue as long as we have breath.


How can you say after only doing this work with less enthusiasm that you are tired of witnessing and walking this path?

Father came to this land from another country.  America is not even his native land, but he came as a fireman to put out the immoral flames waiting to consume her.  So, if anybody gets tired, or needs to retreat it should be the one who does the most.

March forward without faltering.  We should be able to say, "Let's go farther" or  "Let's take a rest".

Everyone is Headed Somewhere

An Encounter is Never an Accident

This speech is another speech that was announced that it could not be adequately translated from its original language of Korean to English.

For example, the concept of "In Yun" is not found anywhere in English.  If two people meet in a crowded place and their sleeves touch, it is said to be caused for some hidden reason and not to be counted as a coincidence.

These reasons had a beginning many years before unbeknownest to the individual wish is called In Yun.

Because of "In Yun" we are meeting together like this and not by accident.

"Sung gong" means meeting or encounter.

There is one book that is very influential to the Oriental life called "Chu Yok" in Korea which tells about how things separate and meet again.


There is "o haeng" and "sa ju". Each individual has a "sa ju" within him. It is composed of the time and date he was born. Experts can calculate an amazingly accurate account of your future and past using this method. It is about 80 percent correct. They can tell you what specific ailments you have, and what herbal medication to take for them. They can tell you how many children you will have, what are the highlights of your life, what you are suited for, what your ancestors' problems were, and so forth. Then they try to explain to you why these things are so.


Everything that happens in your life is not by accident.  Each case has a certain explainable cause or "In Yun".  Everyone gathers here from all over the world.  Each of us have been destined a long time ago to be here, living together and especially to be married through international marriage.

The things that happen to you are not accidental; they have a certain explainable cause, or "In Yun". We come from all over the world and you might say, "Well, we are like a scoop out of the mass," but actually each one has been destined a long time ago to be here, living together and especially to be married.

Why have some people gone to the North Pole and South Pole? Wouldn't it be more reasonable to consider that no one voluntarily goes to either extremely cold area?  The human body has a tendency for us to find a comfortable place to live.

Why would anyone want to live in these extreme areas?

Maybe someone is in hiding after killing someone or committing some crime.  Maybe someone hates them so much that if they are left handed, they would eat with the right hand that they want to get as far away from them as possible.

It is for sure that the cause behind them ending up at the North or South Pole was not a happy cause behind them separating from their society.  Does the beginning of the ancestry of the white people have a good condition or a bad condition?

Why would white people have chosen to live in the extreme cold?

Those in the North Pole regions must have been hunters or nomads.

We normally express compassion for horses.  Therefore, when one horse is in extreme pain and can no longer walk, even though we love horses, we have to shoot it as an act of mercy. On the other hand, if a son or daughter is very sick, it is not customary to kill them.  Even though a horse and man are different, this situation is similar.

Which is the better way: to let the horse die a natural death no matter how painful the process, or to terminate him and ease his pain?

How different are people's ways of thinking.

All of humanity originated from one human ancestor.  From there, different tribes, races have been scattered all around.

Is this for a good reason, or unhappy ones.  Now there are so many different languages and customs.  The yellow race has been living in the moderate temperature zone, with reasonable rainfall where crops grow well.

They have been worshiping a god under shamanism, not such a high-level religion; it is rather superstitious.

The spirit world is not unified just like here on earth, but divided by different societies.  It is even more segregated by different groups that share certain things in common than the people living on earth.    What is the nature of the spirit world?

Everybody eventually goes to spirit world.

Those who lived on the earth and lived like cats always scratching others so no one can live in peace, will go to spirit world to live in a community of others who live in this way.  Imagine a community of people like this.

Strangers meet, but they are not actually strangers.

Their meeting was predestined.  Individuals encounter are never an accident. If a cloud was to form right in front of you, where do you think it originated?  Would it be an American cloud, or was it formed from other parts of the world?

This cloud was formed by water vapors from different parts of the world from Africa to the polar region.  If a part of this cloud formed from the droplets of a black person's eyes, and combined with the evaporation of a white person's saliva, would the waters hate each other?  Will they start fighting?

Even though they are side by side, will they refuse to shake hands.  No, they will give up hating each other.  They would make friends under those circumstances.  A cloud lacks dust and pollution.  This cloud is world scale going around and around to America, Africa, to everywhere, across the oceans without discrimination.

We see that clouds act in this way, but we don't like to sit next to a white girl. Maybe you do sit there, but your mind doesn't flow.  If this is so, this makes you inferior even to the particles in a cloud.

Was this air bred on American soil and just stays in America?

The air that we breathe in America, is that American air or does that air belong to the world?  Of course, this air belongs to the world.  The air has parts coming from Asia, the Orient, Africa and other parts of the world.

Does air have conflicts with air from other parts of the world?  Does air from Korea only go to Korean plants?

There is no boundary in nature.

If a boar from South America was to go and use the bathroom in North America, will the tree there protest that?  No, the tree will like the free fertilizer and say it taste better because it is different.

This is the birth of the universe: everything develops according to the harmonious "In Yun".

Do you know who you will meet from one moment to the next?  No one knows this, but when they meet someone new, it is a good destiny and they learn to get along together.

You sometimes hear about stories where siblings separated for many years find out they live in the same city all along decades later.  How many tens of thousands of years of preparation did it take for two sisters to end up sitting next to each other?

That would be an historical encounter, a miracle.

This is how spirit world operates; it is like a big computer that at a push of a button reveals tons of records showing what measures were taken to bring these two sisters together.  This computer covers every area.

Perhaps at some point, Sister A and Sister B came very close, but did not make it years before.  Now the two are together.  Everyone that reads this post did not arrive here in a straight way.

If you were to see in the spirit world, you would see that your ancestors clubbed you to bring you here now.  That is why your way here is crooked.  No one understood predestination and how it works until this.

When you were born, did you have the slightest idea that you would one day meet the Messiah?  How many years would it take to plan such a meeting? We have hardly done anything, but this is how we end up here.

The background is very complex.  We can look at the universal level and see that there was plenty of work in order for each person to be here.  After ten or fifteen years in your current relationship, you can truly love one another.

Can you predict what is going to happen?  Can you predict the good things?

We must think that ten twenty years from now and cherish this moment.  We should not just think of today in treating each other.  If you treat others with this attitude of good "In Yun" for ten twenty years, then everybody will come to support you. Everything that is happening now is for the sake of this goal.

Fishing is very dramatic even though it is done in a sitting position. You may fish for eight hours straight, and nothing happens.  All of a sudden there is a tug of the line and before you know it, a thousand-pound fish is trapped on your hook.  All it takes is that split moment.

All things that are happening now are for the sake of this goal. In fishing, this becomes a dramatic scene.


In Alaska, there was a fierce competition. A Japanese brother had not caught a fish after several days. One day, everyone was catching fish, but he did not, until five minutes before the deadline, 8:55 pm. Suddenly it came; he landed the biggest fish and got first prize. This is a true story. 


Who can tell?

How can you tell what will come from two people in five or ten years, or even tomorrow?

Why does it take thousands of years for two people to meet?  Because the goal behind the two meeting is so big, that nature and history work thousands of years of "In Yun" for them to meet.  No one realizes the significance and work behind such meetings taking place and shrug it off and doze.

There was a lot of sacrifices were required for each person to meet the Messiah.  Even ancestors died to pay the price to have such a meeting.  Spirit world watches us nervously.

When we see how things work in the background, we realize that indemnity is a natural thing.  If indemnity did not exist to correct the wrong direction we are going, maybe we would not get a chance to go in the right direction.

When we know this detail, we want to work for a bigger cause.  We can say that we are ready to accept more suffering and more indemnity for God's dispensation to move forward.  If you are able to think and live in this way, then there will be more In Yun that will work on a higher level of encounter.

There is much In Yun in America.

Based on work day in and day out, a person will come to be loved by others and even at the sacrifice of their own lives they can not leave him. This kind of strong relationship has come about.  By working in America, one will meet offspring from the Mayflower.

The Messiah has lot of thought of how to meet such people and lead them to the top of heaven.  He does not recognize his own suffering until he fulfills his part of the responsibility to the offspring of the Mayflower or other American members who came through In Yun. A person who has this kind of thinking will receive all the blessings of the universe.

The universe longs to give the blessings to and welcome such a person.

When you have the kind of attitude to think of saving others before your own pain, then there is no room for complaint in your life.  There is no cause for complaint.

Even if during your mission you were to bump into your enemy on the street, we should think, "What is this "In Yun" going to bring me?

If you live in this way, suddenly you will look around and see someone there.  It is the true son and daughter you lost many years ago, because of war.  This 'accident' can happen to any person.

You look back before your reunion and remember that if you had not bumped into that drunk on the street, then you would have missed seeing your lost son and never have another chance.

Even though the man may be crazy, you would wonder if he himself know he is crazy, and what was making him act that way, for my sake.

That is good In Yun.

There are two kinds of people: one who is always ready to fight and ruins his day because of this inconvenient meeting, and then the other thinks philosophically.  They will wonder, why did this come to me? What do I deserve? What can I expect from this meeting?

In Yun and encounter has a great significance.

Remember the story of Joseph?  His jealous brothers put him in a well because he was being treated so great, better than the other siblings.  Later, after he was rescued, he served in the noble man's house.  The wife tried to seduce him, but he was determined not to repeat the fall. Then because of this, he got to meet his own brothers again and they ended up bowing to him.

Because Father spent three years in prison, by knowing and taking this lifestyle for the sake of others, your life will improve.   We come to know and understand within minutes the details of the nature of communism, liberate communism and unite.

This principle applies in our everyday life.  Something innocent happens, but an accident occurs.  You may cause some kind of accident to an elderly woman who just wants someone to be nice to her.

Then when she is hospitalized, you can witness to her and save her life.

If this were to happen, you may end up thinking that her breaking her leg,  her way of thinking was a blessing to bring her to you.  How proud would you be if you were able to live in this way?

So, how historical is it to witness to the Divine Principle using this knowledge?  We shouldn't pray to God that an accident does not happen.  It is better to pray for God to lead you toward his will.

We all experience accidents.  Maybe when you look back you see that it had to do His will.  As a result of endurance and faith, we gain a different level, higher level.

We are bound to get to a higher level if our mind is basically good.  

If something bad happens, everyone may agree it is a tragedy.  

There are two ways to handle bad situations: either complain or contemplate what chance this offers.  

The wise person does not complain.

The other day a bus was stolen and arrived to its destination late.  Everyone was worried and annoyed that they would not be on time, but a wise person thinks differently.  They wonder who they are going to meet due to this bus being stolen.  Maybe you could cross paths with the cousin of the President.  Maybe he could invite you to a political dinner quicker than through your own planning.

Anything is possible.  This is usually how this kind of extraordinary "In Yun" works.  When we understand this principle, how can we complain?


Father knows one thing: our life, whatever it may be, is a course of indemnity, paying for past mistakes. Whether we approve it or not, it's indemnity. It's bound to be. So if the indemnity goes the normal way, it takes a normal amount of time. Everybody wants to quicken it. But how? By something extraordinary happening, then it quickens. 


This is the history of humanity for thousands of years.

This happens like a sine curve. One is smooth and one is saturated.  Would you rather follow the complicated or simple curve?  Just know that the simple way will take thousands of years of sacrifice, and the other saturated way means you are always busy going the incredible way, but only takes one hundred years.

There are several different combinations of curves.  Sometimes you can go up and sometimes you go down.  Successful corporations go through one or two hundred years of turbulence before finding their elaborate foundation.

Shorter indemnity means that even though you think today is miserable, tomorrow will be worse, and the next day even worse. 

Which  life do you want: a smooth life that takes thousands of years of indemnity, or a short life that gets the indemnity over with?  The way of paying indemnity through religion takes thousands of years.

This is the principle: once you receive glory, that period ends and you must go down before you can go back up again.  Look at the history of Christianity.  It suffered for 2, 000 years and then it finally went up in America.

When you look at the current situation of Christianity, it has obviously gone down again.  This is the reason why God now relies on a new movement that starts from the deepest suffering with its foundation in Christianity and now is going up.
