Does God Exist?

Throughout history mankind has been pondering the fundamental question of whether or not God exists. But history has developed until the present time without a definitive answer being found to that question. However, if God exists and is a personal God as well, whatever God may think and plan is the ideal which all mankind ought to seek.

What would be the most basic question to God?

What is the true relationship between God and mankind and whether or not God exists would be the best questions.

To answer whether God exists, we can for the time being take the philosophical approach about ourselves, or 'I'.  Throughout history, philosophers had different answers for whether "I exist and how to know if 'I' exist.

"I think, therefore I am. I cannot doubt that I doubt" is what has been asserted.

Then where did thinking originate?

Some answer that it comes from the brain while others will assert that man's spirit is the origin of his own thought.

Whatever answer we find, man has a separate origin than thought.  So we should answer the two questions separately.

Evolution has been the answer to where man originated which answer that man came about by chance and through the slow progression from apes.

This answer is expedient, but is is not actually the fundamental one.  If this is the case, then evolution has to have an origin somewhere.  Even science is becoming aware of this fact.

This process alone does not answer where did man's spirit, mind and thought within man begin if an animal does not possess these same qualities.

In order to begin to answer this question we would have to start at the beginning of creation and observe the elements of that creation.

The amoebae is the simplest organisms.  What if the amoebae has the capacity of a simple thought/  How would this simple conscious evolve into the complicated human mind?

Can we truly say that our noble spirit of humankind came from this simple organism alone without any help to reach the more complex species?

We know that the human mind has a greater capacity.  This is not a logical solution.  Through the development of man's body, there should have been something that brought the human spirit into being.

Through the explanation of evolution, we must conclude that the elements of greater and greater thought were added bit by bit to the simple consciousness of the amoebae until we reached the level of the human mind and spirit we possess in our day.

Does the amoebae, which is the beginning of the evolutionary point, contain the kind of energy necessary to propel itself forward into a higher being on its on natural course of evolving?

If not, then there must have been some extra energy that was supplied from the outside.  Then man did not come from just a natural , or automatic occurrence which is explained through the process of evolution.

Those who observe the phenomenon of the evolutionary development do not try to figure out the question and only just observe the end result and call it evolution. But when each step of the process is analyzed, there are clearly some missing factors.

When we look at the internal aspect more deeply, we know that there had to be some additional power besides just the object which is changing.  When amoebas today collect in greater numbers do they somehow produce the human spirit?

Every element, even the amoeba possesses an inner form and an external form.  These two aspects work together as a joint unit, with the internal aspect behaving as the central point.

The two major schools of philosophical thought: materialism, which considers matter as the essence of the universe, and the metaphysical idealism, which considers spirit as the essence around which everything else in the universe revolves.

The age-old philosophical question is whether consciousness precedes existence or existence precedes consciousness. 

When we observe the external aspects, it looks like existence came before conscious and developed naturally.  But when we look at the internal point-of-view, there had to be an awareness or consciousness first, from which sprang being or existence.

Two entirely different viewpoints emerge depending on how this question is answered.  Which is the true one?

Materialist philosophy is on one side and the other side has the clear acceptance of a Creator or God as the origin.  Between these two ideologies there are thousands of different theories.

When we look between these two opposing viewpoints, which is 'internal' and 'external', struggle arises.  This simple fact is important to know because once we know the true order of things, there is the end to this struggle.

We must know the truth which came first, consciousness or existence of matter itself and then which is the subject and which is the object.

But if we continue to believe that matter and spirit coexist on an equal level, there will always be struggle between ideologies and mankind.

Marxism is founded on the belief that the universe sprang from the essential element of material and that consciousness is a by-product of matter coming into existence first preceding it.

We can break down the most basic component of matter which is the atom into smaller particles.

The atom consists of the neutron and proton with the electron circling around it.  This proton occupies the center and takes on the subject position; however, within the proton there is another give and take action where further breakdown can occur.

All of these elements come together beginning with some motion.

Whichever particle created the motion becomes the subject.

The nucleus is the central point and beginning of motion within the atom.  Within the amoebae the same thing applies.  The amoebae has an internal nucleus character and an external character.

Also, each of the billions of cells within the human body has a nucleus as well.  If there is a concept of a center, then all four directions must exist.  What is the purpose served by the central point within?

The central position determines the location of the axis; it is the position of the starting point. Without it, nothing can move.

What determines the shape and characteristic of each atom is its nucleus?  The characteristic of the nucleus determines the substance of the outer body, so the central nucleus is the key determining factor for the entire being.

This is true for the development of the different forms of existence.

As atoms move about together into different types of nuclei, the outward characteristics become markedly different.   One direction consists of the vegetable world, in another is the animal world, then the mineral world.

The central nucleus character is determined first then the outward phenomenon, or the external form, is determined.

Evolution is based on the assumption that life just happened by chance or accident on its own, automatically.  But there is no way for such development to just happen automatically without an outside force.

When there are two different types of nuclei there will be two different types of external forms.

For example, no matter how hard a Chinese cabbage and a radish try, a radish cannot become a Chinese cabbage and the cabbage cannot become the radish.

It is impossible for them to come together and create a new form.  By observing the basic elements we see that they have two different nuclei with totally different characteristics.

Unless the element of the nucleus are changed, the external forms cannot be changed.  The monkey and the human resemble each other.  Also, other animals such as the dog, cat and cow have eyes and ears similar to the humans.

Does this mean that the cow becomes a man and a man becomes the cow because of the similarities?

This is impossible because the determining fact of anything in existence is its nucleus, which is the center.

Humans have the determining factor of humanity; cows have the cow-determining factor; and dogs have the dog-determining factor.  As long as these each carry different nuclei, no matter the effort spent on external unity, they can never become interchangeable.

To begin with, the monkey and human beings have different items.  The monkey has the monkey-determining factor and the man has the man determining factor.

The two have entirely different purposes, as well.  Should we conclude that the monkey automatically evolved into a man?

By looking at the internal aspects we see this does not hold true.

The nucleus is in the position to relate to all four directions.  It can exert influence in all four direction and receive energy from all four directions.  The nucleus determines the overall character of the external form.

In other words, the nucleus determines its shape and its substance.  When we view from the concept of a central nucleus, the internal and external aspects of man can be more understood.

The theory of evolution cannot explain the internal and external because it does not have the understanding of the core or center at the most basic form.

The elements might not have occurred in all four directions at the same time. Maybe they began with one direction; but ultimately they covered the entire four directions. The four directions of east, west, north and south have different characteristics from each other.

Every essential element of matter has a different origination point. 

Between the nucleus and the body, the nucleus comes first in the subject position and it determines the nature of the objective body.  Even though it is invisible, the internal is first.

Whoever takes the initiative is the subject.

For instance, in order for you to sit in your chair you had to have the initiative to get up in the morning and then sit down where you are now.  This motivation for an action comes from within the nucleus, which is the center point.

You first had to determine within your thinking to get up and get ready.  Your body, which is material, did not push your mind to come to where you are right now from your bed.

Since that core-nucleus exists prior to objective embodiment(external), the internal occurs before the external. 

This core makes the external embodiment, which we can observe, possible.

This is not the other way around.  This same principle can be applied everywhere.  So, the internal reality and the internal character comes first and then is the subject position.

The theory of evolution falls apart simply because it does not explain how one nucleus change itself into another nucleus containing totally different elements.

If a scientist tried to command the several elements with differing nuclei to come together, no matter how hard he tries to manipulate the union if there is no mutual interaction or possibility for reciprocal relationship, those nuclei can never come together.

By knowing the internal aspects and that the nuclei determines the external form how can we just accept the information that the universe developed through natural occurrences without planning?

There must be some external source of power, will and initiative.  Some universal nucleus-idea which is the governing factor of the entire universe must have had a hand in the manipulation of several different aspects of the creation.

Each of us has a nucleus that went through the process of gathering up the substance that makes us who we are.  Our nucleus has its own characteristic.

The central nucleus determines liking or disliking, willing and not willing.  Therefore, each nucleus is different from others; it is unique.

Our nucleus has already determined our size and character.  We cannot go beyond our own characteristic nucleus, nor can he become anything less than the nucleus requires.

Exactly what the nucleus was, we became. 

Also, nothing can be added to it because it would be foreign.  No matter how much other elements try to enter that character, it will not be accepted unless the nucleus ordered certain substances.

We can view all men as 'cells' for some universal nucleus character.  We are a part of something that is bigger than ourselves.

The central characteristic of man is heart and this central characteristic is common to all. 

We cannot relate equally with the animal world because we are human beings and they are animals.

Man is man.  We are each a part of the human family as one cohesive group.  We have a common character within each of us.  We strive to become better and pursue goodness.

Because of this, we always reach out for new horizons, and greater and higher universal character.

In other words, we want something better and some way to progress.  This is why the whole of humanity continually heads toward betterment because such character exists within the common human nucleus.

Since we all have a basic common search to do good and become better, there must be something bigger than our own character within this universal character.  We recognize as a collective group that we are objects to some greater subject.

Because there is a common human search for goodness and betterment, there is something bigger than our own character within the universal character.

As a collective group we recognize that there is some greater nucleus; we recognize ourselves as objects to that greater subject. The human consciousness involves this collective effort to reach out to that universal consciousness.

Because of our human consciousness, we can reach out to that greater consciousness and we can communicate with it.

In that way, universal consciousness becomes subject and we become the object or substance of that universal consciousness. We are glad to become the objective consciousness of that nucleus conscious.
We would want to communicate and align ourselves with that central consciousness.  That consciousness has many several different names throughout religion, but it would be the true originator of all existence.

We call this originator of such consciousness and human beings, God.

This central consciousness would be the center of all existence.  Man stands uniquely as the microcosm of the macro-cosmic universe.

Your Attitude in Prayer

The most important thing in prayer is the attitude of the person who is praying. 

The most essential part is your commitment to go forward without any reservation.

If there is anything that is trying to block you from praying, you have to be decided that it will never stop you. Unless you have this kind of commitment to continue, God will not waste His time trying to help you.

God has trusted many people of faith in the past to accomplish His will and He has been disappointed and deceived.  He has been looking for proof of what you are made of and how strong your commitment is.

You may tell God that you are completely committed and will do whatever it takes and never quit.  But He would just shake His head and say that He will wait for at least three years to see.  If God sees that something isn't quite right within you, He will wait before sending His help.

God has to be absolutely sure.

If God was to just freely give out His help and at the end of several years the person is broken into pieces, it would make God foolish.


 If I were God I would also wait and see. Suppose you were God; what would you do? You may tell God, "You see I am living as a church member and I will die as one." Then God will notice and look more closely.


No matter how firm your prayer is, without this basic commitment nothing will happen and you will be wasting your time.  This is where the decisive attitude is the key.


Do you think I made a commitment to God that I would never change, not for fifty years or the rest of my life? I prayed first for the absolute faith which could say, "Even if not a single person in this world can believe, I will believe and follow in whatever incredible course You give me." Second, I asked for absolute knowledge and wisdom. Third, I asked for absolute love. I prayed for these three things throughout my life, and now in looking back I see that they have been fulfilled, even when I didn't know it was happening. 

There is no other power that could go beyond the boundary of race and nation. 

With this absolute wisdom, the Divine Principle and the truth about the world was the result of an arduous search.

The attitude of absoluteness is the basis for everything.

Nowadays, some worry that they are getting too old to marry and have children.  This kind of attitude shows that your absolute commitment is starting to shake.  Instead of shrinking under this challenge, you should have the thought that even if you are not married yet, it does not bother you or change your commitment.

When you are faced with great problems and agony, once these challenges are overcome, your faith will be iron hard.

When you are able to see the obstacles that are blocking you path, you are able to clear the field.

Since God could give me this absolute wisdom, I could search and find the Divine Principle and the truth about the world.

What if along this road, you were very much in love with your husband or wife, but they suddenly die.  Will heaven and earth crumble for you?

This could be the very moment that you would curse God for taking your loved one away.  But what if instead you were able to thank Him for giving you a situation that will strengthen your faith?   Then you faith will become stronger instead of weaker.

God is a parent who loves His children.  If He takes a loved one away, it is not because He hates you and wants to see you suffer, but it is for a greater reason.  If you are able to accept and digest this situation, and have faith in that purpose, then you are ready for another challenge.

In this movement the most beautiful word to our ears is 'indemnity'.

Through paying indemnity, we can pay for the debt of our sins and our ancestors.  Many mistakenly believe that because Jesus died on the cross for our sins that all sins here and in the future have been  eradicated through the cross.

This is incorrect.

If that was true, when Jesus died on the cross, every child born thereafter would have been born without sin and without need for redemption.  Yet, you and I were born with sin and continue this stained lineage.

Jesus paved a way for each person to come to God to be forgiven of their sins.  We still have a mountain of sin we inherit on the individual level, family,/ancestral love and so on that needs to be paid for.

We are living in the Completed Testament age where all the sins of the past are being completely erased through paying indemnity while humanity steps one foot closer to God's ideal world of Heaven on Earth.  God is asking you as His champion to pay indemnity because no one can stand such a burden..

Accept indemnity with a thankful heart. 

When you compare the time on earth that you are apart from you loved one with the millions of years your descendants will live,  your payment of indemnity is small compared to the huge blessing God will give your descendants.

If in fact, the death of your spouse was an accident, and was not a direct intervention of God, but you are still able to have a grateful attitude God will feel that you are an extraordinary child and His blessing will automatically be yours.

Your attitude will decide the amount of blessing. 

Are you ready?

If an extraordinary grief or tragedy hits you, are you ready to thank God and ask what is next?

When you understand the law of indemnity, you know that you cannot only accept the pleasant situations and then curse God during the most unpleasant events.  With this knowledge about indemnity, there should be nothing that you cannot bear.  This is the attitude of those who truly know God.

When you first join the church your eyes are filled with such fervor and hope, but as the years pass on they get a little duller.  What about in ten years?  It is easy to say that you have the same enthusiasm, but do you really have the confidence?

Prayer is an absolute necessity. 

It is important to first make an environment of serious commitment before praying.

If you do not have this basic attitude, no amount of prayer and tears will suffice.  Many in the Christian world pray everyday.  Do you think that they pray for the Christian churches to decline?  Of course they pray for the churches to prosper, but the churches are crumbling anyway.

Prayer is very powerful, thus there is a disconnect between their prayers and God.

We should pray for the big things: the nation, the world and the liberation of God.

This way you are praying for an even bigger cross than your own church.

If you only pray for smaller things than the church, God will not answer because He is not interested in listening to such boring prayers.  When you pray for the nation and the world, God takes notice and will want to help.

This way of prayer is training for how to love greater things.  If you live this way of life, then God will still back you up even if you do not have time to pray.

In churches today, people pray for their denominations, their Social Security check or their family problems and their pet. God's ears hurt when He hears those prayers and He will plug His ears. It would be the equivalent of a child begging their parents every moment for some candy.

When you only talk about yourself in your prayer, God is thoroughly bored and nothing will happen. But if you pray for His righteousness and His kingdom, He will be caught up in your passion.

In order to fulfill bigger things you need an adventurous mind and be willing to take risks.

When you work for larger goals, you will not have to worry because God will be right behind you.  If you work hard to overcome the stonewalls and persecution standing in your way, God will take up your battle for you.

God is able to distinguish who is just and who is unjust.

God would wait and give you a chance to knock down your opponent with your own might before He rushes in to help.  This is the same thing a father and mother would do for their children.

If you were to run to your parents first before confronting your enemy, God, like any parent would be ashamed to hear your complaints and will send you back out again.

Create a good problem: be a heavenly troublemaker instead.

I came to America and became a good troublemaker, and that's why America doesn't like me. America has built a prosperous society, but I came to shake this nation and Americans resent my disturbing their peace.  But I did not come to destroy America, only to warn this nation that there is danger ahead. 


Someone has to warn the people of America and bring them out of disaster.  We must prepare ourselves for this big battle.  After you go first, then you can ask God to come and help you with any area you lack.

Then God will say, "Go ahead, I am right behind you."

In those circumstances, if you sit down and pray with seriousness, then God will encourage you.  When God finally has proof of your commitment, an avalanche will come to you.


I have had the experience of thinking about some problem and not even praying about it, but already God knew my thoughts and went one step ahead of me. When I discovered that my thinking had been fulfilled, He smiled and said, "See what I did?"

You need the basic attitude of sincerity as a foundation of prayer. 

If you do not exhibit this basic attitude, then no prayer will work.  To create this atmosphere, you should serve one more person, knock on one more door, receive more persecution for restoration.

That would be more valuable than sitting in a dark room for hours praying.

Praying is only needed only after you have exerted all of your energy into a cause and it was still not enough.  Then at that time you can ask God to come help.  When you can do the mission on your own, then you don't have to ask God for help, and you can tell Him to relax.

The prayer for all seasons is the prayer for God's kingdom and His righteousness.

Does God pray sometimes?

When a parent, without thinking, will whisper to themselves that they wish their son would do this or that.  That is God's prayer also.  He prays about you and me because we are living in a time of emergency and He is engrossed in His concern.

That is God's prayer.

You do not even have to sit down and pray.  You can just murmur as you go.  That is prayer.  In our case, praying and doing is the way of life and praying and waiting is not life.

If you pray unconsciously throughout your daily life, then you undoubtedly are becoming sons and daughters of prayer.

If you give your last ounce of energy but it is not enough, then ask God for assistance and your prayer will be answered.

If this was not the case, how could we have the ability to subjugate Satan?

Satan has caused unending anguish and heartbreak to God for over six thousand years.  If there was no way to finally subjugate Satan, then there would be no end to this hell.

But God has made a way for us to overcome this evil world of darkness.

The power of prayer works wonders.  But when you pray, you must be serious and pray with one united hear, not a heart divided.

How serious is it to pick your own spouse?

It is dead serious, but prayer is even more serious than that.  At the moment your parents are on your death bed is a serious moment, and the words  you speak then are urgent. You will not doze at that time.  Your prayer has to be even more serious this moment in picking your spouse.

Prayer is like a covenant between you and God, a promise. 

Once you make this contract through prayer you follow through and without a doubt, God will fulfill it.

This is the attitude you should have through prayer.

You should not be disappointed that your prayer is not answered immediately.  Some answers come late.  As well, as you should not be overjoyed when your prayer is answered quickly.  That is not necessarily the best thing either.

The answer to prayer does not come from you, but down from heaven and it takes time to reach you.

You are surrounded by the world where there are many stages to go through horizontally and vertically.  There were many foolish people who received answers to their prayers up to a certain point, but who didn't go to the final inch.  They gave up when they were not satisfied and betrayed God.

When you pray for the world you may not see things changing immediately around you, but far away the communist world starts to crumble. 

Your prayer may be felt in a far-away place.  You must think that your prayer might not reach you today or be fulfilled for thousands of years from now.


I pray such prayers. I am not praying just for this world today; I am praying for 1,000 and 2,000 years from now. If that prayer makes a bridge between that time and now, then the Unification Church will continue to flourish even a long time after I am gone from the earth. That kind of prayer is needed.


What if everyone was to pray that kind of prayer?

That kind of eternal prayer would shake the world and the impact would be far reaching.  Prayer, sweat and tears would be the root of that prayer, and out of it beautiful flowers will blossom. When Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane, he was deadly serious.

All day long, you should be in prayer mindset, not just one hour, but 24 hours.

What prayer position do you prefer?

The best position is to kneel and bow your head  Restrict your body's freedom as though it were bound.

You will feel pain, but overcome it because you must be serious in your prayer.  This is necessary for prayer. Then God will know your serious attitude.

If Jesus and other saints did not pray, they would not have been able to carry out the great things that has impacted the world.  When you resort to the power of prayer, you can have hope because you never know when the fulfillment will come.

Mutual Love as the Solution for Unity

All religions speak about bringing about a world of peace and practicing the faith with others who have the same ideals, but religion has yet to build a world full people living in peace and hope.

What can truly unite a common people even in these days of such division including the church?

What do we need in order to unify the church? Some would say, "You need unified principles." But unified principles would be useless without feelings of emotion.

This is the issue.

Any religious group can try to unite based on coming together with the same ideas and united principle, but they need feelings of love for one another to truly unite. They must feel such demanding feelings that one cannot live without the other and must see each other in order for them to unite.


Jesus tells a story to illustrate this point:

Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. 

So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.

Luke 10:30-34

After he tells this story, Jesus asks, which of these people was the neighbor to the man who was beaten by robbers.  The answer was clear and he said for others to do the same as the Samaritan.

Imagine two people who are calling each other names in order to tear the other down in order to show who is the best of the two.  Their egos will not let them see the other person as equals.  How can these two unite?  Can a mother and father compete over who is better than the other and still unite?

Love grows with time.

The solution for unity is mutual love.

Few couples love each other from the very start.  Love can began from pity or from preference.  A woman can meet a stubborn man and think that he is unlovable, but she can take pity on him because she sees the obstacles he must face because of his stubborn attitude.

When this pity transforms into love, then the man seeks solace in the woman.  That's how it works.  The woman might find the man's attitude as an advantage because she herself does not have a stubborn attitude and turns it into a mutual advantage.

Thus, love blooms in affection as well as in pity and eventually this leads to unity of a couple.  If one has a strong enough pity for the other person, it can naturally find a way to unity.

Wouldn't a parent after spanking a child out of anger regret doing so immediately?  The effect would exactly be the opposite if the parent shed tears and showed love for the child instead.

Don't you think?

Spanking is not effective.  If instead the mother or father controls their anger toward their children they will triumph over their children and have control over them.  An older brother that has hate toward his brother can be brought to submission in this way.

It's possible isn't it to unite in this way?  With such feelings, yes it is possible. We must exhibit this kind of heart.

There is no happiness where there is no unity. When we say, "unity comes, or unity is possible," we mean unity with love as its substance.

The Family Federation formerly called the Unification Church had the purpose of uniting all of Christianity.  Is it possible to unite all of the different denominations and sects if the members just limited their love just among themselves.  To unite Christianity, we must love all the denominations and the sects.

Once in this frame of mind, we can forgive all their human faults

You must understand that forgiveness leads to unity.

When you begin with this mind set, you can forgive all their human faults.  If God still thought of us as sinners, would He have been able to forgive us all our sins time and time again?

God can forgive us because He looks at us with a forgiving mind to love us beyond our faults.

Do you understand that nothing is possible without this feeling of love?

What kind of world would this be without friendship, love for the country, love between parents and children, or love among siblings?  Would unity be possible in that type of environment?

Is it possible to have happiness without love being present?

The only way to bring the Principles ideas to fruition, we must have love.  Through pupils shedding tears of love for teachers, teachers for pupils, children for parents, sisters for sisters, brothers for brothers, siblings for siblings and tribes for tribes.

If you were to pass away tomorrow without accomplishing this kind of standard of love you would die in regret.  Unity demands this standard.  This is not just The Divine Principle teachings for our path toward righteousness but God's.  We must undertake this mission.

Why do we seek unity through love's foundation?

Because everything is temporary without the glue of love because love makes everything eternal.  Does the wife stop loving her husband because he passed away?  No, her love for her husband burns even more strongly after her husband's death.

We must think where unity will come into being.  We always think that it happens at will, but we must have love connections at the foundation of unity.

There is no unity without love connections.  These connections are honored and obeyed mutually.  Isn't this right?  With such a connection of love, one recognizes the other, which is returned in mutual recognition.

At this foundation, there must be a mutually-recognized goal which will make unity possible.  Unity does not work based on two different goals.  The goal must be one and will become one if love is mutually given.



All is United Upon Contact with True Love



When we are in contact with true love, the cells of our minds and the cells of our body respond in unison.  Through this unison, the differences are ironed out and produces harmony in all parts and move together in the same direction.  This is how unity occurs.

Then through this center point that unites the man and woman on a horizontal line to God's vertical line, all things operate.  Outside of this Principle, nothing works properly.

This is the eternal equation. This principle operates in this way in all movements, all beings, all cell structures, and united ideals and paths.  When we see this absolute standard, we can see why it is so hard to relate to one another and bring about unity in an eternal stance.

Viewed with love, there is nothing that is not directly connected to each of us personally.

If all the cells of the mind and the body are united in true love, then vision becomes one, thought becomes one, movement becomes one, smell spreads in one direction, words are spoken praising this unison.

Men and women then become united horizontally and stand on the vertical line as God intended.


Why do we value the five senses and what are their basic functions?

The five senses main purpose is to follow love and only love.  When the senses follows love, the eyes, the ears, the nose, the tongue all become one with feeling.  The whole will become one.  The eyes will search back and forth in pursuit of love and the nose follows love, also.

"All my soul and flesh, all my living organs follow this principle. All plants seem to react in their various ways when the morning sun shines, on them, but they all follow the principle because such is the essence of life.

We speak of God's love freely as if we understand it: do we really? Do you know how strong His love is? You've seen gristle on chicken legs that stretches when you pull on it.

What is love, then?

Love is like that gristle that is strong when pulled. When love pulls on it, when God's love pulls on it, the whole world follows. Do you understand what I am saying?

When possessed by love, the eyes become one, the nose becomes one, hands become one, the focus becomes sharpened, all unite into one. Perfectly one. So, we say, "perfectly done!" and all the cells echo "perfectly done!" This is possible, don't you know?" SMM


All things of creation follows wherever love dictates, hangs onto and wants to be possessed by love.

Once cells feel the taste of love, they want to dance.  The whole universe dances in celebration when it witnesses love.  When we rejoice because of true love, the whole universe rejoices with us.  When we laugh taking in God's abundant love, the universe laughs in unison.

It is the same as the echoes of a mountain.  When we shout, "Yoo-hoo!" it echoes back exactly, "Yoo-hoo!".  You're eyes will be open like never before - it is indescribable.  You and I were created to receive that kind of love.

A man and woman in love can move the whole universe with their breath.  Just like the ocean waves moved by the moon's pull, your love's "yoo-hoo" will be replied to by many "yoo-hoos" from all over.

God's Prayer

Do you think God prays sometimes? Sometimes without thinking a parent murmurs to himself or herself, "Oh, I wish my son would do this, or be that way." That is God's prayer also. God is murmuring about you, about me and about the  Church because this is an emergency and He is engrossed in His concern. That is God's prayer.




You don't even have to sit down to pray; you can just talk to yourself as you go, whispering and murmuring your concern. That's prayer. In our case praying and doing is our life. Praying and waiting is not our life. If you pray unconsciously in everyday life then undoubtedly you are becoming sons and daughters of prayer.

If you give your last ounce of energy but it is not enough, then ask God for assistance and your prayer will be answered. If that were not the case, how could we ever subjugate Satan? Satan has given unending anguish and heartbreak to God for 6,000 years and if there were no way we could finally subjugate him then there would be no end to it. There must be a way.

 

"Test your own power of prayer; take one person and pray for him fervently, constantly, without telling him. Pray tearfully for his well-being and then that person will feel a magnetic attraction to you."

The power of prayer works wonders, but prayer must be serious and done with one united heart, not a divided heart. When the moment of engagement comes, it is a most serious moment for both men and women, but in the Unification Church it is different because you leave it to Father Moon.  In that moment you become dead serious, but prayer is even more serious than that. If you pray with that attitude then it will be answered.

If your parents are on their deathbed it is a serious moment, and the words you speak then are urgent. There is no way you could doze at that time. Your prayer to God is more serious than that. Prayer is like a covenant between you and God, a promise. Once you make a contract, you follow through and then it will undoubtedly be fulfilled. That is the attitude I am talking about.

You must not be disappointed when prayer is not answered immediately. Some answers come late. At other times you should not be overjoyed when prayer is answered quickly. That is not necessarily the best thing. Because you are surrounded by the world there are many stages to go through horizontally and vertically.

The answer to prayer does not come from you but down from heaven and it takes time to reach you. There have been many foolish people who received answers to their prayers up to a point but who didn't go the final inch, and when they weren't satisfied they betrayed God. When you pray for the world you may not see things changing immediately around you, but far away the communist world starts to crumble. The impact of prayer can be felt in a far-away place.

If you are in the Abel position, the answer comes from Cain and takes time to reach you. You must think that your prayer today may not be fulfilled until thousands of years from now. I pray such prayers. I am not praying just for this world today; I am praying for 1,000 and 2,000 years from now. If that prayer makes a bridge between that time and now then the Unification Church will continue to flourish even a long time after I am gone from the earth.

That kind of prayer is needed. If many of you pray that kind of eternal prayer, the world will start to shake and the impact will be far-reaching. The root of that prayer is your tears, sweat and blood, and out of it beautiful flowers will blossom. When Jesus prayed on Gethsemane he was deadly serious, shedding tears, sweat and blood. All day long you must be in a prayer mood, not just one hour, but 24 hours.

What prayer position do you prefer? The best is to kneel and lower your head. You have to restrict your body's freedom, as though it were bound. You will feel pain, but overcome it because you must be serious. Then God will know your attitude. That is a necessity for prayer. Without prayer Jesus and the saints could not have done the great things that had an impact on the world.

When you resort to the power of prayer you can have hope because you never know when the fulfillment will come. My prayer is centered on the culmination of the third seven-year course. You may think I relax when I am alone, but there is no moment of relaxation because my mind is always concentrated on the completion of the third seven-year course.

You must understand the importance of prayer and have conviction that prayer will be answered. Through prayer you can receive power. Through prayer you can receive visions into the future and guide yourself accordingly. You will know what kind of difficulty is coming and how to divert it and overcome. If you know how to steer yourself then you can do big things, and prayer alone can pioneer such a path. It is more important than eating. I go out to nature because it gives me a better environment for prayer, and I love nature for that reason.

I love the quiet of midnight. I don't say much about the visions I receive, but if you receive them then don't you think I do too? That kind of new world can only be reached through prayer. In that position you can taste love. This world is desert-like, but the world created through prayer has a climate where love can thrive. You must learn how to generate your own power.

You cannot expect that I will always pull you and push you out. You must make yourself self-propelling. In order to do that, prayer must be the diet of your life. Whether people recognize your efforts or not, you must do your duty enthusiastically because you have a covenant with God. Day and night you move on; there is no pause. That is a living testimony.

 

"God will concern Himself with my well-being because I am concerned with God's. If I only paid attention to my family instead of to the world and God, my family would get sick."

Every several years Father Moon's topic of prayer changes, which shows progress to a new era. In a prayerful mind he knows precisely what time it is in God's timetable. That kind of preparation is necessary for self-perfection, and we must learn it through the power of prayer. Do you pray in this way, for His kingdom and righteousness? Pray that this country can become a center of God's righteousness.

Your country has seen many fervent patriots, but you must pray with more fervor than any of them. If your concern for this country is greater than God's then this country will survive, but otherwise it will crumble. What is our goal and destination in the Unification Church? I am leading you where God desires for you to be. It doesn't make any difference whether it is difficult or easy because whether there are many obstacles in front of us is irrelevant.

The important thing is not just getting there, but getting there in the shortest possible time. If we go quickly then there is less danger, but when the process is stretched out there are many opportunities for disaster and we must not allow that. This is a transitional period; we are entering into a new era, a new plateau and history of faith.

Therefore, this is a critical moment for you and God. Last night I spoke to the department heads about the true meaning of home church (witnessing 360 homes in your area). Home church is the greatest gift God and True Parents (True Adam and True Eve) can give mankind. It has never existed before and will not again in the future. When you make this gift yours by fulfilling it, you will definitely become a son and daughter of God. Father Moon has repared this precious gift for us for his entire life of 92 years and now I freely give it to you. You can make it yours in six months.

This is an incredible opportunity. Home church should be the subject of your prayer. Pray with a parental heart for your home church people as your children who are struggling in hell. Your heart as a parent must be grieved and desiring to save them. If you don't have that feeling then you are in a dire emergency; you must open your heart to parental feeling of love toward your people. If you don't have real love for them, then push yourself until you do.

No one has to teach a parent to love his children. If you feel like a parent to your home church, then your love will be the same and no one will have to teach you. Just finishing elementary school takes six years of daily attendance. Do you think home church is comparable even to elementary school? It is the school for becoming a messiah.

Think of how important it is. Even though you might attend it your entire life, you must give your heart and soul because you could not have any better school. Even though you have only 360 homes, God will treat your efforts there as though you had given them for the entire universe. In America there are about 70 million homes, and if each person had 360 homes we would need 200,000 members to cover all America.

If the entire Christian population accepted Divine Principle, the Complete Testament, and wanted to do home church, what would happen?  There is nothing more important for you than this. Test your own power of prayer; take one person and pray for him fervently, constantly, without telling him. Pray tearfully for his well-being and then that person will feel a magnetic attraction to you.

He won't know why he feels drawn to you. If you receive in your prayer that you will meet a person at such and such a time, when you go there then that person will come. If you are dead serious then these things will happen. Hypnosis can transfer a person into another state of consciousness, but how much more can prayer change lives. There is no distance or limit to its influence because the power of thought travels everywhere throughout the universe.

You can mobilize the entire spirit world by the power of prayer. You have experienced that the Messiah will work through your prayers and tell you certain things. There is no limit to the power of prayer. When you have the right attitude in prayer then miracle after miracle will happen. The most important part of a launching pad is the foundation. At take-off it must not break under the heat and pressure. Your prayer is like a missile firing and you need a solid foundation.

You must not pray from greed for yourself. That prayer would be harmful to you. Public prayer as a public person will cleanse you and elevate you higher and higher. If you live with this high sensitivity to spirit world, you will sense what is forthcoming. Your perception will be keen and you can prepare for the future. You should know that you are like two people in one. Your inner man (spirit) is like a mirror, clean and bright.

When the inner and external men are not synchronized you feel anguish, but when they are perfectly aligned you feel joy and power. This is happening every day within you. When you see a person for the first time, your inner man can tell you what kind of person he is, and if you hear a person's report, a sixth sense will tell you how truthful it is.

When someone walks into a room, I can see whether he is bringing good news or bad. Don't neglect this inner man but consult him all the time. When you are higher spiritually you are always there, always speaking with this inner man. You have a spirit man and he wants to talk to your physical man.

You may not have any intention of saying anything yet suddenly you find your mouth moving. That is not you but your inner partner speaking. Even the rats of a ship can sense when a ship is in trouble and run away, but how much more should man, the supreme creation of God, know when life or death is coming?

Shouldn't you be alerted when a certain destiny is forthcoming? For your inner and outer man to become one you need the power of prayer. I have a family but I seldom pray for them. My prayer is anguish for the nation and world and cosmos. God will concern Himself with my well-being because I am concerned with God's. If I only paid attention to my family instead of to the world and God, my family would get sick.

I don't concern myself with my family's well-being; I concern myself with the Church and God's work and I know God will take care of them in the meantime. This is the principle of give and take. Those who want to do more for others will receive more; those who want to go down will be lifted up. Don't pray empty prayers. Now you know the power of prayer. Everyone needs to experience these things spiritually.

You must know whether the things you do will succeed or fail. You know that certain things will succeed because you feel pulled in that direction and are eager to go ahead. Your body is like the receiver of a radio. Free yourself from self-centered thinking, and then mighty things will happen to you. You must open that valve.

You are entitled to ask for God's power, but only for the sake of His righteousness and Kingdom. Then He will come down. Pray and act; you will feel different from yesterday and you will know the power of prayer is in action. Today is just the beginning; pray to tell God that you are just beginning and need His help. Make a showdown with God every day. It shall become second nature, and without being conscious of it you can live that life all the time.
