What is the True Way?

The Orient has produced many saints. Confucius, Buddha, Jesus, and Mohammed all came from the East. But who is the saint of all saints? Christians would say Jesus is the greatest, but wouldn't the Buddhists say Buddha?

Reverend Sun Myung Moon

This could be confusing.  Are there many different paths a human must go?  What if the four saints sat and discussed which way was better?  Would each determine their way was best or would they ask heaven to choose which direction was best of all. This is the difference between saints and ordinary people is their way of thinking.

How would someone in the secular world handle such an issue?  How do they come up with the best idea?  They may hire a Board of Directors and representatives to analyze their findings in order to come to a conclusion.  Their answer may be right for that certain time in history, but not work for future generations.

The founding fathers of America agreed upon a system of democracy. They saw very clearly that democracy was the only thing that would work. They tried to be very conscientious in creating their constitution and then they asked God if it was right. When they received God's approval, they ratified it.  This took place 200 years ago and the environment has chanced since them.

Is what people decided 200 years ago the best possible solution for people in our generation?  That's impossible.  The American people should constantly be asking God, "Are we still all right?"

Yet has there ever been a president who asked God exactly how to do things? No. Not here or anywhere.

This is an example of Pragmatism.  Pragmatism means to not do what God decides, but what man decides based on what they believe to be most practical in that moment.  Pragmatism has always served the immediate purpose which we cannot be satisfied.  We know that there is something higher.

Shouldn't American abandon the idea of pragmatism and secularism and reach for the more lasting and enduring?

Each religious founder must have been quite confident when they started out believing that the way he was going was the most righteous direction.  Then each came to realize that their philosophy was not all that perfect.  When they look upon earth, they must feel a certain lacking when they witness their followers fighting bitterly amongst themselves and against each other.  This is sure proof that each had not found the absolute way.

Then how shall we resolve this? Where can we find the true way? We have to go back to Heaven and ask God what we should do.

More Precious than Scripture

Why does the Messiah come to America?  Because the foundation of Christianity here was once great and influential, but no longer is adequate.  Now, the people need to be taught a higher way which represents human beings and history more fully.  America should serve as a leader of the entire world through uplifting the people.

The Messiah comes in the Last Days to provide the tools to do so.

Could you imagine a conference where the four religious founders convened with God as the chairman to discuss how the world should run?  Each founder would debate his own view based on his philosophy.  How long would it take for them to see which way was the true way?  A month or a year? Maybe it would take years for them to come to a conclusion which way was the best way and become tired and give up.

Then would God, who is also getting tired of the conference, say, "Well, since we can't come to an agreement, I'll make the decision"? No. The four would say, "God, You can't go against the law of Your own creation, the law of man's responsibility."

Then God would say that they each represented humankind and He would let them decide.  God would ask Jesus which was the most significant teaching.  Jesus would say that the Bible had the utmost direction of all of the book because it is the only way to follow the true way of life.  Then Mohammed would say that they would have to base all of their decisions on the Koran.

What is more significant than the Bible, the Koran, or any book? What is the point about which all holy people would say, "Yes, I agree that that is the most important thing of all"?

Think about yourself.  Which of these teachings is the most significant of all of the holy books?

Yes, it's true love.

Who would oppose that true love was the ultimate way among all of the teachings?  If you were to ask Satan, even he wouldn't deny it.   The most important things are true love, true life, and true living.

Followers have placed a lot of importance on the Koran and the Bible, but they must realize that these books purpose was to lead people to a conscientious true way of life.  The books themselves were not meant to be the final goal.

What if true love, true life and true living were up for consideration as the most important thing in the world.  Do you think that Confucius and Jesus would vote for them?  They would agree about these three points along with seven billion people in the world.  Would there be a person that would object and conclude that these were not enough?  Not likely.  God would also agree.
