The Root of Promiscuious Sex

The Bible reports that the fruit was the cause of evil.  It never said what the fruit was, but popular culture would say that it was an apple.

Either way, why would God even create a fruit which first could kill His children and secondly, if creation was made for humanity's enjoyment, why create something that was for the purpose of their death?

Would the God you love create such a contradiction?

Through the teachings of the Divine Principle, we learn that indeed the fruit was symbolic for something else entirely.

Adam and Eve were likened to the trees in the garden.

If we are to compare a man and woman to a tree, in the center is their sexual organs which bear fruit.The fruit that come forth from a man and a woman's seed are children.

When we realize that the fruit was the sexual organs which we were not to eat or touch of, then the history of the root of sin makes sense.

Secondly, if the fruit was to mean sexual organs, did He mean for them to abstain forever?

Adam and Eve were teenagers who had not reached physical maturity or spiritual maturity yet. Thus they had not become perfected beings which God could relate.  Therefore, to prevent the Fall, God gave the warning to not eat or touch of one another in their immature state before uniting with Him.

Once they were to reach perfection, been blessed in marriage directly by God, then they would have been able to delve freely in the fruit of each other with God as the center.

Since there was such a danger from partaking of the fruit before maturity, why did He make it part of creation before they were ready?

The Fall changed the blood lineage from God's pure blood to Satan's lineage whose word and will they followed.

This is why they were driven out of Heaven.

If they had perfected themselves, they would have become God's body and wife respectively.

By introducing another element, false word of do eat now, this introduction led to a disease inside God's body or temple and ideal.

God lost His original ideal for a world of peace flourishing with His love and His everything and humanity went into the other direction.

Adam and Eve acted as God's enemies when they ignored His warning.

How miserable was God's heart when He witnessed this taking place?

The Fall is the grave in which Adam and Eve buried themselves. 

The Fall became the root of free promiscuous sex and the origin of individualism.

What kind of nation has America become today?

It overflows with extreme individualism, excessive pursuit of privacy not public life and free sex.   Do you think that God is in favor of these lifestyles when He looks down upon His children?

Is He happy to build such a heaven on earth to turn into a perpetual hell for Satan's will?

What has America's extreme individualism brought about?

It is like they are saying that they would abandon heaven and earth, the world, their nation, their society and family to pursue endeavors that only help themselves.

People who live in such a way are like gypsies who begin wandering around with no place to go.

They may end their lives in suicide.

The original mind which God endowed to humanity does not desire such extreme individualism or privacy.

It rather dwells in receiving love from the universe and the nation, from our neighborhood and village and from our parents.

But, because people walk the opposite path of their God-given conscience, it is stricken and they are able to feel the pang of a contradiction with their original mind.

Without God, this empty hole and wanderings about in their soul will never be filled.

Because they are unable to fill this 'hole' within them, more and more people would rather die than live and so they commit suicide through drugs.





You Reap What You Sow

What did Adam and Eve plant in the Garden of Eden when they gave into their sexual organs outside of God's dominion and followed Lucifer's advice?  They sowed seeds of free sex.

Can this fact be denied?

This is why when God came into the Garden, they covered their sexual parts and not their mouths.  If the fruit was literal, then they should have covered their mouths when God confronted them.  We naturally hide our transgressions.

Before the Fall, Adam and Eve were naked and free.  Afterward they hid their private parts and God asked them how did they know that they were naked.

It cannot be denied that the Fall was caused by fornication.

When we know this simple fact that has been hidden and masked throughout the ages, we can plainly see how Satan has used fallen, unclean sex to keep God's children bonded to him and away from God.

Where is the dividing line of heaven and hell?  Is it in the mid air?

It is none other than your sexual organ.

This is a serious matter that must be understand so one does not repeat the mistake of our first ancestors.

Those who use their sexual organs aimlessly will be bound for hell.

Those who use theirs according to God's absolute standard of love will be led high up into heaven. This is a clear conclusion.

Absolute, pure sex has God at its center, whereas free sex is centered on oneself and Satan.  God's absolute standard of love will be led high up into heaven, this is a clear conclusion.

Historically, world literature and the media have often used images of free sex to stimulate the audience.
Therefore, from now on, all of us including politicians, economists, writers, and journalists must unite to lead the way to prevent promiscuous sex from further destroying the youth and this nation.

Free sex should disappear completely if we are even thinking about a better world.

Who has ever declared such a statement?

Chastity for Woman and Purposefulness for Man

Do you just love whomever you want, even a man who calls you on the the street?  Do you follow him or not?  You should not.  You should not have that kind of tendency.

You each should protect your bodies until the time is right.

You should not just hand over your pure love to devilish men who strut and loiter on the street.

Why place your fate into the hands of such a man?

This is a simple matter.

Since you have only one life, once you take the wrong step, you would be unsettled for life.  Therefore, women should strictly directly maintain their chastity, from now on, men should do the same.  In only this way will they be restored to their original position before the Fall.

However evil and heartless this world may be, you should not do things which will lead you astray from the principled path.

You should not defile your purity during your adolescence.

This is a precious time when you are able to overcome the bitter failure of Adam and Eve who lost their purity in their teenage years.

When preserving that purity, which has a pristine value, you should have the mind and determination that even if you have to live alone for a thousand or ten thousand years, your love organ won't ever be misused.

When certain men see a pretty woman, they would wish that she was their wife even though they already have a wife at home.

These kind of men have two minds of a thief.

Since Satan was the first to have two minds, it is not wrong to call men with two minds Satan.  Such people are no different from Satan who defiled the sexual organs, too.

The time is coming when not just women, but men should keep their chastity.  

If a man errs in this regard, it is as if his whole clan committed a serious crime against God's will.

Even if a person has a respectable position, it does not mean that he is permitted to be unfaithful to his wife.

If he does, his whole clan is useless to God and will perish.

We have now entered the age where men must remain chaste in order to bequeath a historical tradition of purity.

Christian communion is for the sake of establishing the tradition of Jesus' pure flesh and blood which is connected to God's pure blood lineage.

There is a saying that goes, "Chastity for woman and purposefulness for man." 

This saying means that chastity is for fulfilling God's will concerning keeping pure love.

Since it is said that chastity is for women, they should know only one love.  Since it is said that purposefulness is for men, men should go forward unwaveringly for the sake of one purpose only.

Adam and Eve should have known the correct path and have maintained their chastity, yet they fell.

A man that loves a woman with God's love should stand in a position where he can say, "I have loved her totally with eternal and unchanging love from beginning to end."

Also, a woman in order to stand in such a position, should seal her body tight.

Just as a peony flower blossom formed from many layers of petals, she should hide herself deep inside.

Then when the springtime of the harmony of heaven and earth comes, she would harmonize with it and start a new life.

We should all know this well.

Does God Exist Part II

Everyone deserves happiness, just for the simple fact we are all born human.

The human body is composed of many different kinds of cells. Also the different races of man can be represented in the cells of one body. An example would be the cells in the whites of the eyes, representing white people.

Our body is composed of many different kinds of cells.  If we look at humanity as a whole, we can view the different races of man represented in the cells of one body.

For example, the cells of the whites of the eyes can represent white people.  The dark cells on the sole of the foot might represent "black" people.  Every person is simply in a different location making up one body.  Can one proclaim that the cells of the whites of the eye are more superior than the cells in the sole of the foot?

All human cells are equally valuable, working for the same purpose and serving a joint will. 

A husband and wife are like two cells that are next to each other and have great, close give and take. They virtually become one living cell through their interactions.  From this universal point-of-view, all human beings are equal then.

As humans, we are each born with a common nature among ourselves which belongs to the same universal consciousness.  Among the billions of human 'cells', there must be something that can harmonize and bring the people together peacefully.

Harmonization between the different peoples, nations and organizations in the world can only come through one source.  That is the through the power of love.

The power of love is like a thread between every cell making smoothness and harmony. 

In this way, love becomes a glue, binding and cementing together all the cells of humanity.

This is why love has a universal quality and is good.  When love is in action it is ultimate.  Therefore, without love, everything falls apart.

Love has the power to unite subject and object, and mind and body together.  Without love, the interaction between a subject and object is very clumsy.

Let's look at this in real-world context.  The communist countries believes in unity, but they believe in doing so through force and the lesser sacrificing for an greater, evil cause.  A teacher is subject to a student, but without love the interaction of education is less effective.

Through the power of love, we are able to experience total freedom of action and freedom of movement between all the four directions.

In a way love is a shocking intoxication which can make everybody drunk. 

Anyone who has been caught up in the action of true love knows the power.

That is why love is good.  We can achieve a high which comes from drugs or alcohol, but this is merely artificial and a momentary intoxication.  After a while the user gains a certain tolerance for the drug and must acquire more dosage just to obtain the same effect.

Love does not have a fading quality and through more give and take between subject and object love only becomes greater and larger.

This power of love differs between individuals which pulls them together.  Men love women and women love men.

Through this interaction of love, there is no way anyone can stay dulled.  This interaction is like connecting an electric circuit.

One becomes totally electrified through love. 

Love goes to the nucleus, because once the nucleus is activated, the whole self becomes excited.  Once love comes to the center, then the whole body is activated.

True man is the center of true love.  This true love will turn you on and true love will turn you on truly.  If one wants to pursue this kind of true love action, he must first recognize the nucleus first.

Love first goes to the nucleus which turns on every cell.  Thus, in order to fulfill true love action, we must first recognize the existence of the nucleus, the center.

Within existence, the internal character, the nucleus, is created.

Love must first go through the nucleus turning on every cell. Therefore. in order to fulfill and consummate love, we first have to recognize the existence of the nucleus, the center.

When we are pursuing ideals we must recognize the nucleus.  Consciousness comes first, will, ideal and thought come before there was anything material.

A true man is a person who realizes true love.  Without true love we cannot think of a true man.

Therefore, dictators of Communism who base their philosophy on materialism, can never become a true man leading a true nation without exhibiting love for the whole.

An ideal world will not come until we can become true men and women with true love.  

To become a true man, you must connect with the truth of the universe.

This person then becomes like a magnet pulling all things from all directions.  Then he has a relationship with the rest of the world.

This interaction of true love explains God very plainly and beautifully.

God can be explained as the center and nucleus of true love.  He is not separate from it.

God also has a personality.

Since God is a personal God, I have a relationship with Him as my personal God.  In this way, I can become one with the universe.  As you can see, we cannot talk about unification if we do not have this core of the love of God.

God is the subject of  love.

He spreads out His wings, which all of His creation can gather in His embrace.  Through this force of His love, all of creation in the universe is pulled towards Him as if by a magnet.

Why do we exist?

We exist for the fulfillment of love.

Through this love, we become a perfect object before the perfect subject.  If we see the universal circle, God would be the center where the nucleus, God's will and love exist.

God's love radiates in all directions, all 360 degrees.

The amazing fact is that if God does not have His object mankind, He cannot fulfill His ideal and goal of love.  Yes, even though God is almighty, if He is not able to interact with true love with His object, man, then He cannot feel love.  In this light, your existence is indispensable in the sight of God.

Love is a magnetic force. 

Once you recognize love, you are immediately pulled towards it.


Your eyes become crazy at the sight of love; your nose becomes excited at the smell of love. In other words, love turns your eyes on. it turns your nose on, it turns your ears on. But usually when people talk about love they only talk about horizontal love between men and women. However. that is not the ultimate love which we are talking about. We are talking about the love which connects us to the nucleus center, God, and the true love of God.


Our ultimate goal in life is that central nucleus of love.

If we were created to just go to work and chase money all day, then love would not be necessary and every person who obtains a successful career would automatically be happy.  Instead, without love in our daily lives, people feel, incomplete trying to fill up the hole within them.

In order to ultimately reach the center of love, we need the horizontal love between the husband and wife.  This is why the love between the husband and wife is precious, since it brings unity into a relationship with that universal love.

The ultimate purpose of life is a living relationship with the nucleus, which is God. 

We have to love as husband and wife in order to link up with that nucleus of love.

The Divine Principle, which this blog is based upon, speaks about the universal prime force that has the power to link you to the central nucleus of love.

This is how the universe was created and has been developing.

The essence of love comes through the center and touches all the substances of phenomena.  People may ask you to prove this because they cannot see this interaction.



"You can use the analogy which I use all the time, the eye: who created the eye? Your father had an eye, your grandfather had an eye, your great-grandfather and so on. Somewhere in your family tree, there must have been a first eye somewhere.

Do you think that particular eye must have thought, 'I want to be this shape, this color?'

Maybe the first eye was such a genius that it designed itself, thinking, 'I must be capable of turning. I will be very sensitive, so I need some kind of covering. There might be water coming down, so I need an eyebrow to divert it.  Maybe there will be dust in the air, so I need eyelashes.'

Do you think the eye recognized that it would be living in an atmosphere with dust so it would need eyelashes?

The eye must have been designed by someone who realized that the eye was going to be functioning in this particular atmosphere.

But whether by its own will or not, the eye is designed in such a way to adjust to an atmosphere where there is wind and rain and dust. Do you think the eye could have calculated all that?

What about the tail of a cow out in the pasture?  Did it just have knowledge that the cow would need to swat at flies all day?

If it didn't, there must be some other will which knows more than the eye, which designed everything for the eye.

There must be some consciousness in the universe which already knew that moisture would evaporate from the surface of the eye, so there had to be some liquid which would lubricate the surface. Do you think the eye knew all that and determined everything?

Thus before the creation of the eye. there was a will. a consciousness, and a purpose which determined exactly the environment in which the eye would be functioning and how the eye should be made.

Do you recognize that there must have been such a will before existence?

In my student days, there was a lot of discussion about God and my opponents said, 'There is no God. Existence came first; I believe in evolution.'

I would counter such arguments. When I got to the eye argument and used these analogies, everyone would surrender.

Why is there hair inside your nostrils and ears?

Somebody thought this out. In other words, there is some universal mind or consciousness capable of figuring out things in advance and making a blueprint in order to coordinate everything." SMM



Even with this incredible evidence of man being created through careful planning, some will still shout out 'No, everything was created by accident."  Do you accept this argument?

Before any complex object is made, coordination and planning is done beforehand, or thought comes before matter can into existence.

Thought comes before everything.

True love being fulfilled is the purpose of thoughts.  We have truly penetrated to the depths of this universal truth.  This is a joy!

Where does our true existence come from?

God's ideal is the universal subject; the center of that ideal is true love. The purpose of creation is the fulfillment of true love.

Therefore, God designed everything under this plan for the fulfillment of love. This is why men and women are designed and this is why we were created.

This is our true purpose in life.  Once humanity recognizes the simple fact we were born to give love, then all major problems caused through selfishness will breed a world of peace automatically.

Why is it natural for a man to be attracted to women?

Because this is the step to reach the ideal of love.  It is the same reason women are attracted to men.  It is the inevitable step in the search for the ideal of love.

Those who have animalistic behavior of marrying and divorcing, freely moving from one person to the next has no way to connect to the eternal nature of the love of God.

Everything God has created is based upon the eternal quality of love. 

Some people live just to have physical love, love which is temporary and ''just for fun".  They use their bodies just to obtain false love.

This is catastrophic and is infesting the whole world in this tragedy.  This catastrophic lower-level, love should be removed from mankind.

If you had a choice, would you choose to have just temporary love or eternal love?

Everyone wants eternal love.

You can connect to that center through eternal love.  Therefore, only love remains throughout eternity.  Your physical body does not last for eternity, but love endures through all times.

Have you noticed that the masterpieces of literature that lasted throughout history has been about love?

We are not the by products of an evolutionary automatic process, but we are created beings and ideal creatures harmonized with all creation.  Isn't that fact better than being the sons of monkeys.

Wouldn't you rather be the children of God? Why?

If you are to be linked directly to the monkey, you would be linked to a being that does not know true love, but only physical love.

Does anyone go visit the monkeys at the zoo and bow down to them thanking them for being their ancestors?

So why do we teach that we are their direct descendants?  Just because we have similar characteristics?

It is clear now that the origin of all existence is thought and mind.

The universe is heading toward the fulfillment of true love.

God is the subject that wants to fulfill this ideal of love throughout the universe.  Not monkeys.  This is not superstition or mystical facts.  No one can deny the fact that we are reaching together toward God.

We must recognize that we need a subject that is greater than ourselves in thought to which we can all relate as humans.  Isn't this the solution to all of man's desires and problems that are in the world?

Man has used philosophy and all forms of thought outside God to come up with solutions to man's problems, to no avail.

Therefore we must pray to God, believe in God, know God and be a part of God.  This must be our way of thinking.  God is the subject and we are His objects.  We can be thought of as  God's cells in His universal body.

When we truly become God's objects, we unite in an inseparable relationship.

You cannot have a better life than a relationship with God.  When you unite yourself with the subject, you fulfill the ideal aspiration that all men have in common for the greatest goodness.

This nobility of goodness and the fulfillment of highest virtue can only come through the fulfillment of love.

Leading the Future

If you take a look into history, you'll notice that we are headed into the direction of one united world.  Is the thought of a united world a dumb idea?  Millions of people in the world may be against this idea.

Many people fear that that reality will be like a communist tyranny, but a united world and people is God's ideal for creation since the beginning.  Communism tries to bring about world peace through force, taking away human freedom and doing so without God.  This is the major difference.

The church that is willing to sacrifice itself for the good of the nation, will lead the way in the future.

Have you met anyone who works hard to reach third place?

In the past, America thrived in the number one position in the world.  Any other country that was different than that standard was in second place.  Now, America is in the third position and dropping.  If someone was to show evidence that America still was blessed in the first position would be false.

There is a desire for America to be in the number one position because God sacrificed to bless America to lead the world with its Christian values.

America was the youngest country and it won the number one position after only two hundred years of its official inception.  This is because it had its strong roots in the ethics of Christianity.  America was number one in all of the fields.  Is it easy for one country to accomplish that task?  It takes a lot of discipline and training to be and also stay in the number one position.

Is this possible, probable or just remote?

How long would a small village last that had citizens that starved while other feast everyday?

It is inevitable that this village is bound to have fighting and separation.  If the world moves toward equal privileges and equality, who would complain in that type of society?  Therefore, the unequally wealthy will not sustain that position for long.

The whole world first belongs to God. 

Groups will own the things bigger than the individual; hundreds of millions of small groups will have ownership. Members of a church sacrificing themselves for world peace will be the forerunners and pioneers toward a world of peace.  Everyone in the future will fight to do the work that needs to be done.  The technology will advance so much that just a push of the button on a computer is all that is needed.  It will be enjoyable and people will compete to that type of work.


We see that automation will become more and more advanced, such that eventually you don't even need to go to the workplace. By satellite, the factory can be controlled from home. That's high tech. You may not realize it, but that day is already here.

Technology is so advanced that a corporation doesn't have to operate from the office.  Faxes, telephones, computers and the internet have advanced so much that one doesn't have to travel everywhere to get the message out or do the work.  Technology blossomed in the 20s to support the mission of the Second Coming for this purpose.



The Sheep

Just like the tide in the ocean: heart moves the same way. 


When we discuss the tide or current of the heart, we only can take examples from the physical world because it is our only reality.  The world living in heart is the same as the physical world.

The Korean language has an explanation about the current world of heart or living based on the heart.  The word 'woon' translate to mean 'carrier'.  This represents 'army' and 'cart'.  This is the same as a safely covered vehicle and means to bring safely into a certain place.  A fast car will carry you to a certain poin safely without an accident.  That's fate.  That is luck.

How does luck work?

Luck or fate always follows the current of the heart.  If there is heavenly luck, that means the current of the heart is being followed, thus you are covered in luck.

People in the West, who are more materialistic,  do not understand why Orientals emphasize aspects such as filial piety, patriotism and sainthood.  Orientals themselves did not understand why they were doing those things.  They simply thought it was the right direction. They were just following the heartistic current.   So they were in the heavenly fate, exalting benevolence, beauty and love.

Beauty, in the Chinese character, is composed of "big sheep." The big sheep is the one who sacrifices himself greatly on behalf of others. Also, in the character meaning righteous, the sheep occupies the top position. Why the sheep? The sheep signifies sacrifice. Thus he is righteous.

The Chinese characters for the word 'beauty' is composed of 'big sheep'.  

The Bible unceasingly symbolizes Jesus as the lamb carrying the burdens of the world.  This sheep was pierced and sacrificed with the sword.



The Chinese character for 'heaven' shows two men, not one man.  The principle states that two centering on love that come together is the essence of the ideal of creation.




Without love, they cannot make oneness.




We must accept the logic and reason behind the flow of heavenly fate: it travels the heartistic current, the heartistic tide.

We preserve heavenly fate through sacrifice.  When we do service for others, we stay in the realm of heavenly fate.  The general direction of heavenly fate, therefore, is always somewhere beyond the individual's interest.

HEavenly fate moves toward the greater whole.  It follows always in a straight line, a straight direction.  God connects it back to the individual.  This straight line of heart is the safe route for the individual to travel and reach God.  Heavenly fate begins from God and moves on the line to bigger and bigger levels until reaching the whole universe.  Love is always a straight line.




The only straight line is the line of love.




Why is Love a Straight Line?


The act of love between grandparents, parents and a young couple just beginning are exactly the same.  It is the same for white and black people.  Eternally it will be the same.  The way they prepare food east and west are different, but the way they love is the same.


 For white and black it is the same. The animal kingdom, too, is the same.  Can we change the quality of love or improve it?  Love is the one thing that cannot and does not need to be improved.  The way of love is true within the plant and animal kingdom.  Man is no exception.

The family needs the son or daughter of filial piety.  The nation needs the patriot.  The world needs the saint. The cosmic world needs the holy son.  These four levels are connected by love:  son and daughter of filial piety, patriot, saint, and holy son. These levels have love in common.

These levels always operate on the path of love and connect like a crystal.  This can be called crystallized love.  Why?  This way, we inherit the universal blessing.  When we get that blessing, we are liberated; we are really free.  In freedom, we become the subject, the center.




Everything moves at our will.





Have you noticed that we all want to be the center of all things.  This is a natural desire.  What most people do not recognize is that you do not become the center through knowledge or power.

The contents of that center or any other center is the same.  They may be on different levels, but they contain the same contents.  If you take this center anywhere, it will be welcomed.  The underlying concept is that of 'sacrificial contribution", sacrificing oneself.  Heart.

In the realm of the realm of heart is where it is possible for the spiritual world to come to the physical plane.  Then they can unite together.  This unity can only come in the heartistic realm.  In other words, this unity of spiritual world and physical world comes only through love.

This relationship between the vertical and horizontal is absolutely ninety degrees wherever it travels.  Heavenly fate always follows.  Where their is a true, perfect joining of these two world, love fills the space like air fill space.


Images of Truth


In a man's face, if the angle between the line of the eyes and the line of the nose is perfectly ninety degrees, this person is an honest person. 

This line is very important.  The navel should be on this line and line up right down the center of the breast and the reproductive organ, too, straight down.  If there is a straight line, if there is a straight line, that person will rise up in the world.

When you train your eyes to see these things, you can interpret the person's future.  The Messiah is at the top of that area.

Those with very small eyes can see things at a distance.  Big eyes see thing close up.  This is the same principle for the camera lens.  People from the West come from pirate ancestors who are always moving and pioneering. So, the westerners' eyes resemble the ocean and Orientals eyes the earth.  They have big eyes and see things near them very accurately.


Which is the subject - the earth or ocean?   Is ocean subject?  In all of history, no one would claim ocean is subject.  Earth is subject.  If the ocean is subject then all of civilization would be made of boats and built on the ocean.  Human civilization started at the river, then went to the island, then peninsula and continent.  The Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Pacific, in this way civilization developed.

So, western civilization should embrace everything  that comes to the Pacific ocean and reaches the other side of the Pacific Ocean. Now, we are entering the ocean culture that is reaching to that new island in the Asian civilization era.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     The western civilization had a vague idea of the future of the ocean trend, but were not certain how to bring this about and hesitated. The Messiah builds a bridge and teaches about the coming ocean era.  He gives them confidence and reassurance to help western civilization. Men from the west want to go to Asia and get an Asian wife.  This is how a man of conscience feels.

Why is this so?  It is where the heavenly fate is going.  The ocean causes erosion to the shore, scraping more and more land, but the land doesn't mind.  As more is scraped, the ocean become shallower and islands rise.

Where there is more erosion at beaches and are more severe, the earth does not protest this natural phenom.  It allows this scraping which goes on for tens of thousands of years never resting.  The earth has a tremendous endurance.  Water, on the other hand, does not have endurance.

We Were Created to be Perfect, Not Fallen

Our ultimate goal is the erection of the Kingdom of God right here on earth: the family of God. Each person is like a brick needed to create the foundation of the family. 

Each member should dedicate their all to be part of the foundation of that family.  Together, we must all be able to create one family on earth, which is under complete dominion of God.

Our homework as all women representing the Eve position and all men the Adam position, to unite under the grace, protection and love of the Messiah who is in the father role.  You should feel to the bone that you belong to the family of God and live together with the true family of God at the Second Coming.

The true family cannot be created unless God intervenes and becomes the center.  This we should feel to our core.

God is the binding force of my own family. 

So, too, God must become the binding force of the heavenly family made up of the True Parents and you.
You must become true sons and daughters belonging to the True Parents. We should not come and dwell in your hearts as a concept, but as a natural part of your life. You don't have to explain spring, do you?

You know when spring is here; you feel it. In the same way, down in your flesh and bones, you must feel united with the True Parents as one family.

Then God becomes the binding force that brings together the heavenly family which is made up of True Parents and you.  True Parents come in the Last Days to restore the ideal of creation which was lost due to the first parents Adam and Eve.

The True Parents should dwell in your hearts and become part of your life.  The most important factor to become a member of this heavenly family is to fully realize that you are the son an daughters of God.

In other words, you should be able to say, "I am completely separated from the satanic world and perfected in the sight of God. I stand in your sight, Heavenly Father, as your son or daughter without shame, with pride.".

We talk about the fall of man often, but what is the fall and what are fallen children?

Fallen children do not feel in reality that they are God's children and He is their father.  They do not have the concept of God.

You must have the following realization and awakening: "I have been born again. I have a new life. I belong to True Parents. Through the power of the True Parents, I am now engaging in a new life. I am God's son; I am God's daughter.".

You must feel that realization down to the bone.

The second realization you must feel that you are a qualified citizen of the Kingdom of God.

Third, when you see the nation, and the world, you must feel the grace of God and think, "God has given this world to me as His inheritance.  I am entitled to claim this world as the son or daughter of God.".

It is an important task for members to know these realizations and awakenings: first recognize you are the son and daughters of God; second, realize you are the citizen of the Kingdom of God; and third, the world of creation is an inheritance from God. God has given all these things as blessings to the children of God.

The individual with these realizations is headed for perfection. 

The person who knows this becomes entitled and qualified as a member or the center of the heavenly family. There are two distinct worlds in our way of life that exists.

The other world is full of people that are suffering and it is crumbling.  As citizens of the Kingdom of God, you must be in the position to influence the other world and not fall victim of the fallen world.

Our mission is to bring those in the other world back to God so we can expand God's territory.  

You may have noticed that what seems to look good on the outside in the fallen world or right crumble, decay and decline.

There is no comparison between the good that is in the satanic world and the poor condition inside the world of goodness.  Even though in the heavenly family things and situations may look poor and meager, later, that family will be blessed, will flourish and prosper.  Instead of being dominated by the satanic world, we should be in the position to influence it.

What is the secret to restoring and influencing the heavy secular world?

The way people live in the satanic world is completely opposite of the way people of faith live since we are moving toward reorganization of the true family on the world level.

It is obvious that those in the satanic world live a life that is destined to destroy the true family structure. In any family, the parents and children are divided.  The parents say to the children when they reach a certain age to go out on their own and be independent.  In that world, the parents are for themselves; the children are for themselves; and the grandchildren are for themselves.

The members of the family are completely divided.

On the contrary, those in the heavenly world set a tradition to see that all members of the family come together.  The grandfather and grandmother give their children their tradition and way of life as an inheritance. The father and mother, in turn, hand down the tradition they received to their children who are the grandchildren of the grandparents.

Let's look at Adam's family. God is in the grandparent's position to Adam's family, Adam and Eve are the parents, and the children of Adam and Eve are in the children's position. We are born as children. We grow into adulthood, and then we give birth to children. Later we become older and become grandparents. That's the way we become perfect or complete.

When every family of grandparents, parents and children come together and live this heavenly tradition through the three stages of formation, growth, and perfection/completion, they will truly represent those families.

The true way for Adam and Eve's family was to be organized in three vertical levels with God as the grandfather.  Then all the human race would be organized in a similar pattern on the horizontal level if Adam and Even had not fallen and became perfect after maturity.

Then their true family would be the center of the entire heavenly family and heavenly universe.

Externally, Adam and Eve were to be the physical parents to their children. 

God is invisible in spirit.

God's ideal of creation was for God to become a visible being through Adam and Eve.  They were to be the visible form of God's image.  The walking God, the tangible God would be the dwelling place of God.  Their mind or spirit would be the inner temple.  With God dwelling in them spiritually, they were to be in God's position in front of their children as True Parents.

In order for this to be achieved, Adam was to be perfected as an individual once he matured and united together with God as one.  Also, Eve was to receive God and be united into oneness with Him.  When these two perfected individual unite together with the power of love as the binding force, there is a mutual unity between the external and the internal.

Why did God create the universe and create man?  

In this creation, God wanted to be in a position to exercise His own love through an object to which He could give His love.  If this becomes the case, then perfected Adam's family and all of mankind would not have fallen and brought sin in the world through uniting with the archangel.

We would have inherited the direct sinless lineage of God as our substantial father.

While we are on earth, we represent Adam and Eve.  When they are perfected here on earth, then automatically the Kingdom of God in heaven will be elevated to perfection living like God for eternity.

The Kingdom of God on earth is where qualified, perfected Adam-type parents are produced.  

After their perfection here on earth, they automatically enter into the Kingdom of God in heaven and be elevated in perfection there.

Who wants to dwell in the Kingdom of God on earth and the Kingdom of God in heaven.  It is human destiny and desire to create the perfect Kingdom of God here on earth.  We all wish for a day where we can live in a world of peace.

The order of business to acquire heaven on earth is to build the first family of perfection through the Messiah's Second Coming.  These Adam-type parents of perfection would be known as the True Parents.  You must know how precious and valuable it is to be able to receive the True Parents in our time.

It was not God's desire to wait thousands of years for the coming of the True Parents.

In order to create the Kingdom of God here on earth, we need True Parents in the center as Adam and Eve who were supposed to be the True Parents of mankind. 

Because the first parents failed to fulfill God's purpose of creation, humanity was never able to see True Parents.  Only the Messiah knows how to erect the Kingdom of God on earth.

Jesus was to build the Kingdom of God on earth through his own family, but had to go through the second route of death at the cross because no one believed in him in his time.

What is the clear definition of "Kingdom of God here on earth"?  It is the place where everyone live with the True parents' family and become True Parents' children.  The Kingdom of God in heaven is the place where you live in eternity with Heavenly Father and the eternal parents.

If Adam and Eve had not fallen, they would  naturally would have terminated their life here on earth before their own children.  Instead, their son was murdered.  When Adam and Eve died, did they go to Heaven?  The Garden of Eden portrayed in the Bible was symbolic of Heaven on Earth.  After they fell, God kicked them out to live in the fallen realm they had created along with the archangel.

Adam and Eve were to become the first two people to be elevated to the Kingdom of God in heaven.

They would become True Parents, naturally. If Adam and Eve had not fallen, they would have become the first two persons elevated to the Kingdom of God in heaven. There they would have occupied the throne of God, since even in the spirit world God is invisible.

In spirit world, you do not only have the heavenly father you also have the heavenly father after the Messiah has restored the mistake of fallen Adam and Eve through his own family.

We do not have regeneration or multiplication if we do not have both father and mother.

If we are the image of God, then as men and women they both are the outer form of the dual characteristics that are within God.  Jesus came and was the first man to restore the position of True Adam on earth.  If the people of Israel had fulfilled their position and believed and accepted Jesus, he would have a bride that would have fulfilled the position of True Eve.  She would be the first True Daughter of God.

The father and mother become one and together represent the full image of God. Actually, the father and mother who are elevated into the Kingdom of God in heaven first would become the king and queen of the world.

How to Progress

One cannot make progress single-handedly. Therefore, in the days ahead, building the new ideal world also cannot be done alone. One in the position of an object cannot do it just by oneself.

Give and take between subject and object brings multiplication where you are not true subject - God is.


Making Progress


Where is the beginning of development?  Development is only possible when two beings both increasingly assume the role of subject withing an environment that has conditions of reciprocity.  Also, when both subject and object can both become the subject reaching the stage where both are better than before.

Action is required for the origin of a being.  In order to do any activity, force is needed.  Where does force come from?  It is not generated alone, there needs to be a subject-object relationship.

In order for existence to occur, action is necessary.  For action to be produced, there must be a subject and an object.  Without subject and object, no activity is possible.

Any attempt for nations to establish good diplomatic relations, it will be successful only when there is a common purpose that would bring both of them progress.

There has been a continuous fight between the communist and democratic world.  Recently there has been a stage set for reconciliation.  If either side can gain a perspective of the over all purpose that promises progress, the two worlds will certainly be able to unite.  But either side lacks this perspective and understanding.

What do we need here?

All beings seek after those who are better than themselves.

The whole world will become one and have unity if there can be shown a new purpose that points the way to gain qualifications of a subject and make up for inadequacies and imperfect traits that force one to become a minus.  Then the world will become one.

Why is it that actions are based on pursuits after beings that are better?

Such a Principle during the creation process is used by someone who is absolute in order to bestow reciprocal wholeness before the absolute subject.

All things originate from one source.  To progress, they divide into many entities and finally rejoin into one large being.  From one thing they divide into many, then come together as one.  From there they divide again becoming a bigger being.  Then all beings will enter one world that is greater than before.

If something is to develop into something larger than what is at the present, then subject and object must have give and take interaction.  Without this interaction, there can't be something greater that comes into being than the present.  Then men and creation try to have a reciprocal relationship pursuing greater and more valuable things.  The universe is created to have relationships in continual stages.


The Basic Rules of Progress

In order to become greater, one must invest oneself. 

"One must invest oneself to become greater," is the truth.

This is the simple basic concept to progress in the phenomenal world.  Everyone has a desire to make progress, correct?  Then to have progress, one must invest oneself.  When one sincerely makes investment, one will make sincere expansion and development possible.  Haphazard results come about when one puts in casual investment and sincere investment brings serious results.  This is true.

Sacrifice yourself in true ways and believe that this is only possible through the road of true sacrifice. What is the definition of sacrifice?  To pour in and invest in oneself.

If you want to do business you should give up money. You must give up the money that you have earned with the deepest love. Investing is the same. Do you understand? [Yes] Sacrifice in true ways means investing oneself. True investment . . . it means that you should make a true investment.

In order to make progress, there must be replacement with something of corresponding value. Without such supplement, development is not possible.

Everything is arranged much like the breathing of air that is needed for life. Why do you eat when you are hungry? In order for me to live on, I must provide myself with food. Providing alone is not enough. There must be metabolic activities to consume it. It must go around in circles.

What are the basic laws of progress? These must become one. You must follow them. If you follow them from now on, you will not face destruction. (He speaks while pointing to something he wrote on the board.)

At this moment, you should know that it is a new age of embarkation. So, what does God do? Among those who live for the sake of themselves and those who live for the sake of their families, who should remain? Those who cherish family should remain. Therefore, God blesses those here who cherish family and lets them lead a good life. Thus these (those who put themselves at the front) will copy the other group's example and naturally follow them. Do you understand?

A perfect plus will beget a perfect minus. Therefore, if their heart becomes one, there will come forth a complete object of heart, and if they cannot establish the vertical relationship of bridegroom and bride by . . . the couple's . . . heart, they will establish horizontal relationship of comrades, family, or compatriots and multiply these relationships.

Without God's love there cannot be any progress, and where there is absence of God's love, existence itself will be destroyed.

The core of love is created in such a way that there can always be harmony; so, when the original heart is touched, the object will without fail try to become one there. In that way, when the object desires to be created into a substantial being by the hands of the subject, then there can be progress. From that moment, development centering on God is possible.

The origin of our life is the relationship between father and son. It is the realm where I can say God is the father and I am the son. Without father, I cannot prosper.


The Form of Progress

Does progress proceed forward in a straight line? No. You should understand that. Even a bullet does not travel in a straight line. It makes this type of turns. What is that? Like the breathing of air, it is carrying on the action of give and take. Do you understand what I mean? [Yes]

Progress moves forward in circular action, in a line similar to a spiral.


The Actual Conditions of Progress
1) Progress of Society
For a man, it is not enough to just become a true individual; but he must develop a true family. A true family should not end with just being a family, but must develop further into a true society. Likewise, a true society must progress into true people, true people into a true nation, and a true nation into a true world.

For any organization to make progress, there must be a center that can influence the organization and there must be a purpose that the organization can pursue. The greater the scale of the organization that seeks to reach its goals, the greater is the probability that the organization will be divided into departments.

In each department, there is a leader who works under the central figure of the organization. The organization can progress forward and realize all of its goals and plans when departmental heads and their members can unite vertically as well as become one with those in other departments. By looking at examples in society and our daily life, we can see that this is true.

To found a company, three factors -- management, facility, and technology -- must be harmonized as one. All things and events follow this rule of three. Philosophers nowadays talk about the "great three" philosophy, but we have established the philosophy of four-position foundation. It is much greater.

Until yesterday it was like a two-dimensional plane, but our philosophy is three-dimensional. Therefore, the only one that will live on is our Divine Principles. Do you or do you not know this fact? [We know] You know? [Yes]

2) The Progress of a Nation

A nation is always composed of a network of administrative personnel and institutions throughout the nation that center on a figure of authority that dictates national policies. On this foundation, it establishes organizational structure inside and outside, which can connect all of them together as one whole entity.

Even if the organizational structure, down to the grass-roots nation wide, is as complex as the cells in a body, so long as all of them can unite based on the wishes of the central leader without being in conflict, and promote an environment of harmony, then no matter how big the national environment is, it will surely continue to develop.

The person of authority will perish if he is not always in the position of giving. After I rise to a high position I must be able to give to those in the low positions. Only by abiding by this Principle will everything develop.

A nation is divided into several political parties. They are bound to collide. But even during this conflict, if the two can give-and-take well, they will both develop. In the shape of a spiral, carrying on a circular motion, they will advance on. However, the reality is that they are unable to engage in beneficial activities, but rather engage in conflicting and destructive actions as if moving on a flat plane. We must also come up with a way of bringing unity to this type of situation.

A wealthy individual or nation was not always that way from the beginning. If it is a large nation, then for that nation to become wealthy, it had to experience misery and suffering that corresponds to the scale of its final success, and in the process had to determine its destiny on the forked road of life and death. You should know that history has progressed thus far with numerous such stories behind it.

When the resolution to a crisis came, it came not based on the merit of one individual, but because the nation and its people, united as one centering on the destiny of the whole, made their utmost effort. When a nation was overcoming a crisis, it went through the process of resolving the difficulty by the vertical and universal unity of the whole, and on that foundation brought the continual result in development. As a result, it was able to build an advanced nation. We cannot deny this fact.

3) The Progress of History

Viewed from the perspective of the principles and fundamental rules, the world today is not a

simple world. This world is to be restored. Originally, there was to be a realization of a cultural world through the connection with the parents in heaven. But until today, all was done based on Satan.

The original history of creation was to begin centering on Adam and Eve and evolve into a world, but since that was not materialized, there must be conflicts during the course of restoration through indemnity.

Until now, the history of fallen men has progressed centering on the foundation which can bring the development into a world greater than the individual, family, the nation, the world, and the universe. But this is not how it should be. It has been six thousand years since the fall of Adam and Eve. If humanity had the world view which led them to cherish the day six thousand years ago rather than place all hopes in the world six thousands years later, then the world would have already been unified. But because humanity was in the position where they had to place all hopes in the future, the history was delayed until today.

Those in the daytime mock those in the night, but you must know that history was advanced by those who were mocked and chased. Those who were chased around and driven out have revolutionized the world and brought its progress.

Only after walking through the path of night and going past the midnight, can one greet the bright morning light. Therefore, those who did the chasing and driving have not actually brought destruction. Instead of blocking their path, they have made contributions by chasing them forward and encouraged them on. In this way, history until today made continual advancement by those who were being chased.

What is the ultimate cardinal point with which we can pursue an ideal and bring the resolution? It is the words of God. In other words, we should know that history advanced until today in order to determine a standard through which the truth sought by the humanity and the truth that God tried to establish join together as one, and this in turn becomes one with God.

The external world evolved also in preparation for this standard of truth. In other words, the material world also has been making progress. This task was assigned to science.


4) The Progress of Religion

God has never made advancement in the dispensation by striking the enemy. Rather than striking the enemy to further the dispensation, he sacrificed those whom he loved the most and were closest to him. This is how he advanced the dispensation. This advancement is progressing toward the Kingdom of Heaven.

The world should have created the environment where God can dwell, and since such a place was not built, a new perspective should have been formed and a new place should have been created. If we cannot accomplish this while alive, we must achieve it even after our death. Thus Christianity advanced forward while shedding much blood. Everyone wants to live in a place that they prefer. Why would anyone want to die?


When does religion progress?

It makes advancement while undergoing difficulty and persecution. Why? Because in that situation there is the possibility of God's Will to be realized. Because God works when there is such possibility, every religion makes progress while being persecuted.

If there is no persecution, when would the Unification Church advance forward? It must voluntarily seek after a path of suffering. Until the day that the whole world follows the ideals of the church, it must take the road opposite to the society. Why? The good world and the evil world walk two different paths.

Even if the world welcomes the Unification Church, its members should not think, "Now, since the world welcomes us, and the time when we can materialize all our wishes has come, we should do all that the people in the society do, and live a similar lifestyle!"

The less the persecution, the more the church should voluntarily take the attitude, "Since we are trying to influence this evil world and are trying to digest this environment, we should walk the path of suffering." Some people ask, "When would this road of persecution come to an end? When would the Unification Church realize all of its ideals?" This type of thought is very different from the initial attitude at the time of the church's founding, which is in agreement with God's wishes.

The religion is bound to develop when under persecution. Why is that so? In such a place, Satan feels powerless, and thus retreats. Why? Because we are loving the enemy, we have set the foundation of having loved Satan, the devil, the number one perpetrator, and his sons and daughters.

Therefore, the place where one loves and prays for blessing is connected with the place where God exhibited his love. Do you understand? Thus the door of persecution has opened up to the religious world. Although there have been many religious leaders and followers of faiths, they all did not realize this fact.

Today, with the advent of the Unification Church, with the coming of this teacher of the Unification Church, all of this has been revealed.

7 Days of Holy Sex - Day 7 - Immature Sex

We temporarily come to the end of our excursion of love through discussion of the myths of sexual need, the pluses to waiting for marriage.  We also discussed the idea that misguided sex brought about the opposite world of peace and to begin the notion of World Peace can be brought through the practice of sex within marriage only.


So what is immature sex? Is this just sex between two unmarried teenagers or can this also define two adult partners as well?  We recognize a commonality in our society that sex is initiated between partners who have not fully matured and is outside of a bond of marriage.  Sharing this bond before its time in marriage has brought about heartbreak, loss and confusion much more than the human mind can fathom.  Sadly, many are blinded to these consequences before indulging in sex without commitment.

Sexual love has psychological, emotional, moral and spiritual, relational, social and lineal ramifications.  When it is used just only for pleasure it is reduced to a physical activity like eating or sleeping.  There are of course the announced risks of sex outside of marriage such as unwanted pregnancy and diseases which both have been mitigated by technology.

Thus, the real costs of sexual relations apart from the original moral standard—on the personal and social level, not even to consider its impact on God and posterity—are largely overlooked.



Premature Sex Disrupts the Development of Heart and Character

So, what is sexual immaturity if it does not have to do with the ages of either partner?  When we as a society look at sex as basically a physical matter or animal instinct, it causes a deeper level of harm.  No harm means that there has been no wrong and no one is held accountable.  

Between two consenting adults, if one feels distressed in an uncommitted sexual liaison, then the problem lies in that person and is viewed as being too sensitive or overreacting to conscience and outdated religious values and discount this to the sexual act outside of commitment.

No harm means that the social fallout can be blamed on socio-economics and no one has to question their personal conduct. No harm means the fiction of sex without consequences can be maintained.

Sexual misconduct has consequences on the intangible level.  These negative consequences of a nonmarital sexual expression effects the individual and personal development when in pursuit of a loving relationship and upon the next generation.


If there is so much to lose in such an misguided expression of love, why do we continue to do so?  Well, this emotional, psychological and spiritual harm felt within sex in insecure relationships are sometimes not even felt or they are ignored in exchange for the pleasure and belief in the supposed benefits of the experience.  It is only after the damage is done, which can show up years later, do one often see the cost of the noncommitted union.

Child psychologist Thomas Lickona relates the story of one woman psychiatrist describing the aftermath of her promiscuous college years. She says, “That sick, used feeling of having given a precious part of myself . . . to so many and for nothing, still aches. I never imagined I’d pay so dearly and for so long.”

These feelings are not uncommon.  Even the Bible claims that a sexual union is a bonding of two becoming 'one flesh' no matter the partners' intentions.  When the couple break their bond, it leaves a deep-seated frustration and dissatisfaction causing the disintegration in the personality.

There are many facets of this disintegration of psychological and moral health, especially among adolescents and young adults.  Rebellious teens may have exhibited these characteristics as well as adults.


Effects on the Individual

1. Stunting of spiritual and moral growth
2. Character corruption
3. Guilt, regret and diminished sense of worth
4. Heartbreak and destructive behavior
5. Spiritual disorientation
6. Degradation of love, life and lineage


1. Stunting of Spiritual and Moral Growth


Society has schools that teach the fundamentals of history and science but lack the way to teach unselfishness which is  the central opposition to maturation.  In adolescence the sexual impulse is being awakened and needs discipline just as toilet training is a milestone in every child's life.

When one in involved physically in an insecure relationship, it tends to impede development and compounds self-centeredness rather than fostering the learning of unselfish love.  Sexual intimacy practiced only within marriage supports and reinforces the partners' mutual love and commitment.

  But when physical intimacy is practiced among singles, it is mainly used to boost the partners' egos and satisfy themselves by taking rather than to give to their partner.

No one is prepared for the potent power of sex until the developmental period is complete and a child has grown to maturity and has lived in the sibling's realm of heart.  We can take God's words in Genesis of the fruit was not to be eaten until the right time of maturity or the "fruit" of love was not yet ripe yet.  Having sex before full mental maturity is the same as harvesting unripened or rotten fruit.


Challenges of Chasity and Monogamy

This moral and psychological reality has been expressed in traditional stories, such as the European tale of Sleeping Beauty, which has counterparts in other lands.

Giving today's climate of do whatever you want makes it especially hard for males to focus their sexual desires for only one person for life moral and spiritual maturity.  Premarital sex ruins this.

"A crucial challenge to the man-an essential test of his masculinity-is lost or failed," Sarah Hinckley.


We all know that fairy tales originated with a much darker content and were to teach children a valuable lesson about the world and as warnings about darkness lurking around the corners.  A magic spell is placed on a princess of the kingdom which pierces the skin and draws blood...this represents the onset of puberty.

She falls into a deep sleep and she is restrained, but yet protected until the braves and the most virtuous young man that overcomes obstacles and whose heart and character is mature.  He awakens her with a kiss and then he introduces her to the world of true conjugal love.

In fairy tales there was only one prince before marriage simultaneously teaching the virtue of waiting for one not having many before marriage.  That he was the one to have the 'key' to her love.  Looking at princess fables in this light, we can say that Snow White was the opposite of this fable and represents failing the test in love.

Adam and Eve were told not to eat of the fruit which represented the sexual organs.  Virginal Snow White living with 7 men succumbs to the temptation of the fruit.  Fortunately a pure prince comes and saves her.

There lasting emotional scars from sexual intimacy in uncommitted relationships.  The damage can be lasting desolation and this sense of a loss.  Experiencing this kind of loss, a young person can become jaded and cynical about his outlook on life crushing any hopes of a bright future in love.

Allan Bloom of the University of Chicago lamented how early sexual experience impoverishes the imagination. Virginal students are still “fresh and naive, excited by the mysteries to which they have not yet been fully initiated,” while those who “have nothing more to learn about the erotic” are “flat-souled . . . unadorned by imagination and devoid of ideals.”

Moreover, sex in insecure relationships drains individuals, especially the young of the attention and energy needed for emotional, moral, creative and intellectual growth. At the very least, anxiety over possible unwanted physical consequences can be an ongoing distraction.



2. Character Corruption

That the residents of Paradise could so quickly turn from innocent transparency to duplicity and deceit illustrates that, worse than hindering character growth, unprincipled sex is a notoriously corrupting influence.

As a society that focuses on the use of sex for physical pleasure and recreation only we see that people are looking at others as bodies to be used for sexual gratification and not as spiritual high beings as we have been created to be.

We have movies that pain a picture of infatuated lovers who spontaneously drawn into lovemaking when in reality most sexual encounters are due to one partner deliberately seducing the other.

A study showed that sense such behaviors are prevalent in the dating world, that 'lying, cheating, and dumping each other' is now seen as normal behavior outside a committed relationship. When one is grooming someone towards a sexual encounter, this lust can motivate every word or action toward them.

These same people who use tricks to gain sexual partners would probably not practice this treachery in other pats of their business and daily life nor would they tolerate such behavior from others.  Yet, when it comes to the need for physical love, they debase themselves in this way.

How many religious leaders, political leaders, executives and celebrities that exuded a bright character and leadership ability fall and stumble into this type of behavior in their after hours even some were married.  This is due the power of sex not being connected to any ethical moorings.

When it comes to a partner having sexual intimacy outside the marriage there are several cover-ups, deceptions, confessions hidden and the exploitation of trust and violation of promises.  The one the who was cheated on, all of these plays with their conscience.  The cheater barely notices the consequences bared on the children and their partner.

This is through them rationalizing their behavior and ignoring heir conscience and theorize that they are the victims themselves just to retain some semblance of integrity.  This kind of conscience killing will leak dangerously into the moral blind spots in other areas of the cheater's life.



3. Guilt, Regret and Diminished Sense of Worth

Sense we realize that the mistake of the fall of Adam and Eve was the misuse of their sexual organs before the time of maturity we can see why they were exhibiting shame in front of God.  Before they were naked and unashamed afterward they hid their sexual parts.  The misdirecting of love commonly yields to harvest of guilt and loss of self-respect.

Even if one is not conscious of the loss for a time, eventually a person who loosely uses their sexual organs for pleasure, love or security will feel degraded.  Many sexually active American teenagers express their regret over losing their virginity when they did.

Also with this guilt and loss, is the shame over violating the mores of their parents and faith community.

Also sex outside a marriage has its own brand of guilt-ridden hell.  When the one who had the indiscretion wakes up to the totality of what they have done they may feel the guilt compared to that of having killed someone while driving.  Self-forgiveness then can be a challenge.

Further, making sexual attractiveness and sexual prowess an important basis for romantic connections amplifies the tendency to judge people on what they do and how they look rather than on who they are.

Thus anxiety is built into insecure relationships:

“Do I still look good enough, perform well enough, please you enough?” When sexual utility instead of one’s whole self is the criteria for attention, there is always the realistic fear that someone else will be more attractive or perform better.

Adultery has more ramifications than perceived on the onset which makes it particularly more tragic.  It brings insecurity into the marriage bed which is supposed to be the one sacred safe place for a couple. It results in undermining one's belief that the spouse is viewed as lovable, unique and irreplaceable.

Jennifer, 30, explains her experience: “The acceptance, even encouragement of premarital sex makes it very difficult to sustain the fantasy that we are the sole object of love.”

The one who is the victim of infidelity will feel like trash and experience lowered self-esteem which leads to them further involving into sexual involvements to prove their desirability which only furthers the feelings of loss and self-respect.  This becomes a vicious cycle of one finding validation through sex, not being able to attain that, and then one's desperate need.


4. Heartbreak and Destructive Behavior

All infatuations or romantic involvements of some duration are painful when they break up. 

When sex is introduced, the emotional ties as well as expectations are intensified. Studies have highlighted the role of certain brain chemicals in sexual bonding.

When we look at God's point-of-view, He meant for sex to be introduced in a committed and loving marriage and thus creates a powerful glue that has no way to easily release its grip.  Hearts that have bonded through sex, even in a casual encounter, will likely only disengage by being torn in some way.  Many have experienced that feeling during a break-up situation as if their soul was being torn in half. For some, the trauma can resemble divorce.

People deal with this pain in different ways.  Some will deny the pain and numb it through drugs and alcohol.  Both men and women will soon admit that they are afraid of getting hurt like this again and will close off their hearts, yet they will still yield their bodies just for the momentary comfort of sex.

This explains the peculiar indifference that characterizes sexual activity even among the young, what one commentator called “oddly disengaged—emotionally cool while physically hot.”

This heartbreak, compounded with the sense of having given themselves so completely for so little return—not to mention the fallout of a pregnancy, abortion or sexually transmitted infection— can help drive young men and women to the brink of despair on their outlook of love relations.

The same period that teenage sexual activity rose was the same time teenage suicide tripled over the last 30 years in the US.  Statistics show that girls who have had sex in before maturity were six times more prone than virgins.

They and their male peers are also much more likely to be involved in other self-destructive activities: Running away from home, using drugs and getting arrested, to name a few.

Finally, one will sense an emotional explosion after a sexual betrayal of extreme rage, leading to violence against former lovers, stalking, assault, even homicide.  Many people live in fear of retaliation by an ex-partner.


5. Spiritual Disorientation 

Uncommitted sex encourages a distorted spiritual outlook whether or not one belongs to an organized religion. It does this in several ways.

First, uncommitted sex reflects a belief in the supremacy of the individual ego. 

It creates an illusion that the ego is the ultimate reality and other people are 'accessories' who will come and go and don't deserve commitment.  They will use several sex partners for gratification and perceived 'growth'.

When one remains aloof from emotional involvement when entering an emotional sexual bond it splits the body and soul.  It tries to show an independent self free to express itself through the body. To 'have' sex rather than be in a whole-person union with another.

When one tries to deny the connection of spirit and flesh of oneself in a sexual union, the partner and the community becomes unspiritual.

Secondly, when one delves into sex without commitment, it displays pessimism about the humanity's ability to remain faithful to one person and then in turn they believe in the capriciousness and unreliability of the universe.  Hebrew prophets would teach points that as we are made in God's likeness that in exhibiting absolute faithfulness to God we should practice absolute faithfulness to each other as couples.

This is why they tied adultery to idolatry, betraying the covenant with God and “having an affair” with another god Jeremiah 36, Hosea 1:2.

When we as a people have several sexual partners, this is far from the divine love and dependability of God's created world.

Third, treating the profound deep mystery of sexuality as a plaything is irreverent in the extreme.

All this is not to discuss the fundamentally dishonest maneuvers religious people go through to reconcile their unprincipled sexual behavior with their professed doctrines and perceptions of God. This only intensifies the spiritual disorientation and damage.



6. Degradation of Love, Life and Lineage 

When we devalue and disrespect sex which permits humans to take on a divine creativity then few other things in life remain sacred.  When we cheapen sexuality it tends to extend a tainted view of other areas - love, life and lineage.

In our contemporary dating and mating culture we realize that love is rarely even mention when discussing sex.  The closest that comes to this kind of talk is the fickle feelings one feels instead of will and ideals.  This is even lost to even those who profess the belief that love is what makes a physical union legitimate.

The cheapening of life and lineage is evident in the fact that outside of marriage, the conception of a child is more likely to be viewed as a curse rather than a blessing. 

The the harshest worse of sexual 'love' without commitment is it is seen as an inconvenience to be dispatched by an afternoon abortion making an appointment as if it was a routine dentist visit.  When we trivialize love, life and lineage is coupled with disrespect for the gravity of sexual relations.

When one views sexual consequences nonchalantly it separates one from their spiritual connection and takes them further away from the Heart of God.

The mental and emotional impact of uncommitted sexual intimacy is summarized well by counselor  Carson Daly:

The lowered self-esteem; the despairing sense of having been used; the self-contempt for being a user; the embarrassment of having a reputation that puts you outside the circle of people with true integrity; the unease about having to lie or at least having to conceal one’s activities from family members and others; the extreme difficulty of breaking the vicious cycle of compulsive sexual behavior; and the self-hatred of seeking, after each break-up, someone else to seduce in order to revive one’s fading self-image.

Contrasting the Different Standards of Sex Morality

To give credence to the timeless ethic in the present world, the prevailing permissive sex mindset needs to be refuted with arguments based upon sound reasoning and contemporary research. 

Let us consider and address five major myths of the old “free sex” perspective in this speech given by Dr. Reverend Sun Myung Moon:


1. Is Sex a Need?

"The first myth is: Sex is a need and an entitlement. All the other assumptions of the permissive ethic rest upon this premise.


This idea is central because it carries a certain moral imperative: If people need sex to be physically and mentally healthy, then it is unfair and uncaring to deny them. Marital status, age and other concerns are simply not as important.

More specifically, if a person claims he needs sex while the other simply does not want it, then there is moral pressure on the second person to yield to the first, since needs have priority over mere desires and having sex is after all always 'healthy' and 'normal'.

The past situation of sexual aggressors having to justify why their partners should give in is reversed. Now those who want to resist sexual advances have to explain themselves. Still, the belief in this need means single people and even children resist less; they pursue earlier sexual involvement and in more insecure situations than they would otherwise be  inclined to do.

Yet there obviously is no such sexual 'need'. There is not a shred of scientific evidence that sexual inactivity in itself is a threat to well-being.

No one has ever received medical treatment because of celibacy.

On the contrary, people are treated for sexual excesses and sometimes directed to be abstinent as therapy.

The real need being confused with sex is for genuine love. Though the body may desire only another body—any body—the heart needs to connect with another heart, to love and be loved as a unique, irreplaceable person.

This is essential for mental and physical health. We know, for example, that infants perish for lack of attention and touch from caregivers, and spouses often die of a broken heart soon after their partner passes away. The specific need of adults is for the experience of marital love. The human spirit craves marriage for its many emotional and spiritual rewards. Sex is only one dimension of what is actually needed and desired.

This belief in sexual need and thus entitlement is a dogmatic notion arising from distortions of Freud’s ideas and the discredited claims of Alfred Kinsey.

Research in the United States, for example, shows three percent—representing hundreds of thousands—have remained celibate throughout their lives and millions worldwide have waited to begin sexual involvement until age thirty and beyond with no proven ill effects. 80 percent of Americans under age 60 have had either one or no sex partner in a given year. Among married couples, infidelity is the great exception.

When opportunity for sex is not available for long periods of time as in military service, interest in it has been known to drop off to zero. 

Many married couples find themselves needing to schedule time for lovemaking because they otherwise become so busy they forget.

This is hardly on par with the need for food or sleep, which asserts itself within a matter of hours if neglected and becomes stronger, not weaker, the longer it is deferred.  Some experts question if sex is even a drive at all since it is so dependent upon learning and will.

“Sex is a natural urge, but the role it plays in your life and the importance you attribute to it . . . is a matter of free choice,” concludes psychologist Peter Koestenbaum.

Sex researchers Masters and Johnson have stated, “In one respect, sex is like no other physical process . . . [it] can be denied indefinitely, even for a lifetime.”

Sexual abstinence then, rather than signifying a state of unhealthy frustration, can simply represent a redirection of erotic impulses. This is obviously what most people must do most of the time. Even when a partner is available as in marriage, circumstances such as illness, work, pregnancy, menstrual cycle and the demands of parenthood dictate a large measure of self-control.



Sex as a “Need” is Oppressive

The belief that people need physical gratification more than they do creates its own oppression.

Sexual compulsion and exploitation become much easier; it is harder for the immature and the weak to refuse their own or someone else’s sexual “need,” as mentioned above.

In addition, single and married people and even children begin to doubt themselves if they do not desire sex as much as they hear they should.

Thus the vulnerable push themselves into sexual involvement earlier and in more insecure situations than they would otherwise be inclined to do. Teenagers may speak of their virginity as something they are relieved to get rid of, as if it is a burden.

How tragic that innocence and the authentic need for quality and committed love are so often sacrificed at the altar of a trumped-up physical “need.”


2. Is One Partner for Life Unnatural? 

The second mistaken notion that follows from the first is:

Having many sexual partners is only natural.

This argument is made on the basis of comparing humanity to animals, particularly nonmonogamous primates, and speaking in evolutionary terms about the need to propagate the species through many sexual liaisons. Thus monogamy and marriage are seen as almost impossibly difficult, even contrary to our genetic makeup.

Yet humans differ from these and other animals in obvious ways.

First, sex among animals is a seasonal matter driven solely by instinct for the sake of reproduction. However, men and women enjoy physical union far more frequently than any animal and for far more reasons than reproduction alone.

This freedom implies certain important responsibilities, as outlined above, as well as certain higher capacities that animals do not share that allow us to fulfill those responsibilities. Second, animal coupling can be indiscriminate in regard to the partner.

In contrast, we are spiritual beings with a compelling need not only for meaningful and lasting love but also to be loved as a specific and whole person and to return love in the same way.

Third, human offspring require many years of parental investment to thrive, unlike primates. Moreover, the quality of the love that spawns and sustains a child affects his resilience and capacity for making a quality contribution to society.

Giving birth to children that are not properly cared for does not make sense even from a materialistic species-survival mentality.

Therefore, what is truly natural for men and women to do is bond for life to care for each other and the children they produce. Even many other mammals do that, too. The human tendency to get involved in temporary sexual liaisons is the result of immaturity, bad conditioning and fallen nature—especially the tendency of the body to dominate the mind— not God-given or even evolutionary traits."SMM
